  1. @butler69 Here ya go. I have so many sounds mixed from various mods; I don't know who made it. mg42.zip
  2. Yeah, I don't have a problem with it as long as I don't have to do it. Immersion (clicking dials) is fine as long as it is a choice. I like the UI at the bottom of the screen in Blaze of War, where you mouse click to change shell type and the like, though the commands and such could be made more intuitive. At this point I am fairly comfortable with it, but it took a while. I am hoping they put a lot of thought into it now that they are going for a full on experience. I suppose if anyone is gonna get it right it would be a company known for sim games. Fingers crossed. But I was surprised too, pleasantly. You'd think somebody, anybody, would see an opening for one serious tank sim set in the time period. Especially since WoT became such a rage, and the demand for WWII games for the last 20 years. There's been more sub and helicopter sims, as far as I can tell. And they are pretty damn niche! Mord.
  3. There's about four major terrain mods by Aris, Vein, Flesh, and SeinfeldRules. Some have new textures and some are saturation tweaks. http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2785 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1164 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1460 http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2190 To make you even crazier, patboy has did some terrain, minus grass. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1325 And check out patboy's (author name "boyer") other mods, he doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves. He's done some killer, beautiful stuff and is one of our most talented modders. Hopefully he is not gone for good. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=select&id=43&orderby=2&page=10 Mord.
  4. That is awesome, Mike.Traditionally these mods end up with a 1000+ portraits even before modules, so having a nice chunk of the time consuming research out of the way helps to curb the frustration and burnout that can set in before the real work begins. It's a daunting task all around. I already have 20+ hours in and haven't made a portrait yet. This helps immensely! Thank you. This mod will be like all the others, buddy, with the all the variant styles; small shields on various backgrounds (applicable seasons included), big shields, etc. Mord.
  5. 10 years? Bah. Child's play! 82nd Airborne is going on 18 since it was announced and the webpage is still up! Mord.
  6. Excellent. At this point because they will be using a winter background all I need is the extras to fill in the what's missing. So, that works great. I am going to start researching the CMBN portraits to find out which ones made it past September if any. Most likely there'll be bleed over, I am counting around 88 divisions just from what we have gathered here. Mord.
  7. I thought about it, but I am not sure I want to join yet another forum that I'll probably never post at after the first time. I am a member of about 8 now, and I only post here. Mord.
  8. I got the notification you posted and I was gonna type the same thing to you. That's funny! But I guess it's day time for you. I never realized you were in England. Has your location always said that? If it has I am getting as senile as Emrys. Mord.
  9. No problem. Any division that survived past CMBN's September end date will be added. So, October 44 until the end of the war for this mod. It's funny 'cause I was just looking at that one earlier today, it was the only SS infantry portrait in all of the CMBN mod. Everything else SS, was armor and armored infantry. No worries my friend! I will make it as complete as possible. Mord.
  10. I dled that Thursday. Just tested and both games run for me. Mord.
  11. Yeah, that's true. Didn't think of that. When I used to use Norton I had to exclude all CM related files (from scans, which included shortcuts, and all folders) to keep it from screwing me whenever it felt like it. Mord.
  12. That game looks pretty cool. I have one nit pick with it though, and after reading and watching some stuff I am surprised the guy left it out of the design seeing how detail oriented it all looks. The units don't have "people" names. Sounds stupid, but man when I play a wargame, especially at that level, it makes such a difference when Barker, the valiant Sherman TC gets blown up, as opposed to B2/Sherman. I am gonna keep my eye on it regardless. Thanks for the heads up. Mord.
  13. Try right clicking the exe shortcut, select properties, select compatibility, then check "run this program in compatibility mode", and try some of the selections. I recommend, either Win 7-8 or XP (service pack 3). Mord.
  14. Do you mean when you try to license the game? Mord.

  17. Plain text is perfect, all I need is the name and number Example: 1st Inf Div, 1st Pz Div, 1st SS Div and special stuff like Führer-Grenadier-Brigade Pz Div, it's a quick short hand for when I am scanning and modding. What you just posted works, I can reorganize it how I need. Excellent! Thanks! EDITED: OOPS! Any way that you can post the next group without the formatting? I can't cut and paste directly. It's breaking each line into separate pieces. Again, thanks! Mord.
  18. That would be a great! Just please use the abbreviations I listed above and I then I can just cut and paste them into a master list that I can mod from. A far as regions go, yep, just concerned with what FB covers, Germany included. Time period would be from October to May but whatever you can do will be good. Month by month would work, because that way I won't be making seasonal background portraits for units that were destroyed. Or you could just make a regular list and annotate it if that saves time. Example: 1st Inf Div (Oct-Dec) I would know that I need to make an Autumn and Winter Background. or 2nd Inf Div (Oct) I would know the division never made it past Autumn. Appreciate it very much. Mord.
  19. Thanks, Mike. I took a look. I may use it if nothing better comes up but man, that's a brain breaker. I'd have to use it about five minutes at a time. LOL. Mord.
  20. That's closer but I can't read German, LOL. All that needs is to be in English and say what regions they served in and it would be better than the first one. Mord.
  21. I appreciate the link but it doesn't really help. Not trying to sound like a jerk ( I am grateful), but having to wade through all the text to find one division here and one there is the time consuming chore I am trying to alleviate. The way they list everything is all jumbled looking and confusing with lots of info I don't need. It might not sound like that big a deal but it brings on fatigue fairly quick when I have read and read and read (+ the abbreviations and German words, etc.) just to find the couple things I am looking for. But it's on the right track, just needs refinement. Thanks Aragorn! If they at least had a table with a list of links like this, I could click each one and scan the info to find where they served (I haven't been able to locate one yet): https://www.feldgrau.com/WW2-German-6th-Infantry-Division It's still a ton of time but better than the alternative. I did find three Stackpole books on German OOBs that I am probably gonna put on my Christmas list. Again though, many, many hours of info logging. But on the positive side once this stuff is documented it is done for good, barring additions for divisions that were missed. Yeah, no problem on the FJ abbreviation, I don't know why I didn't think of that before! Duh! Looks better too. VG would also be better for Volksgrenadier. Mord.
  22. Touchè , sburke, touchè. Mord. I still like real books more...
  23. You never heard of addition? Grab a hammer, punk! 2X4 away! Mord.
  24. I have no problem with e-readers for convenience but they can't replace the touch, look, smell, etc. of a good book. Mord.
