You do know that CMx2 was written from the ground up, don't you? And that the environment is different? And that CMx1 wasn't perfect?

Or maybe you think it was perfect and should be playing that.

And IanL isn't putting you on his ignore list because you aren't happy with everything BFC does; I'm not happy with everything BFC does, and I'm not on his ignore list. He's putting you on his ignore list because of your attitude and lack of anything useful to say. Very nearly every time you post, it's a dig at BFC.

Your hyperbole is so one-eyed: you assume that because people disagree with you on certain points they think CM is perfect. You've gone far enough now that I can't be bothered to refute your nonsense; you won't listen. I'll leave you to carry on living in your own solipsistic little world where you're always right.

None of my AFVs had APS. It was parked in the woods, though.

I don't have that turn save anymore, but I haven't finished the battle yet and the tank is still alive. Here's the damage it took from the 2 hits. Notice the used ERA block and scar (from the first hit).

Some pics from my current SP QB. I've got a Battalion of Luftwaffe Fliegerhorst supported by two AG platoons trying to cut through a strong British Airborne defense on Hills-Town-Water (1120 x 736) 010 Probe.btt. The AI actually did a good setup (for the AI)!

My right flank company commander looking for a way to move forward without getting cut to ribbons.

On of my left flank company MG teams laying down suppression fire.

Newly-spotted members of the forward defense line on my right flank.

A platoon leader and his team from my center company approaching the safety of a building while incoming hits their previous position.

My first jab forward to SMG range on the right flank is driven back with casualties. Alas, the intended prep fire lands too late and this team loses two members to Sten fire.

My guess is that BF believes that the kind of combat the PTO offers would only appeal to a small part of the player base--like having CMFI with only fanatic Italians for the Axis side. After a few battles, the asymmetric, bug-hunt thing would really wear thin.

So, it sounds good on paper for WWII fans (and I'd probably buy it), but it would likely be a loser for the amount of time and resources invested.

If you haven't read it yet, you should check out this recent thread:

    http://community.battlefront.com/topic/119021-black-sea-or-older-cm-game/

Be advised that the CMBN demo is version 1.10, which is totally outdated compared to the current upgraded game--version, 3.11. The CMFI demo is also dated I believe, but not as much.

If you get the upgrades, your CMBN or CMFI game engine will have parity with CMRT and CMBS. You just need to make sure to read the details when choosing what to buy. Bundles are the best deal.

If you are an infantry guy and a new player, CMBN may be the better choice, as all the featured nationalities have ranged infantry AT weapons like bazookas. Also, the maps tend to have less open terrain, which helps the infantry when tanks are around. Having said that, CMFI gets tons of compliments on its scenarios and maps and some people are surprised to find that they like it the best in the series.

Overall, I'd say that if you have the cash, get the CMBN big bundle. It's the best deal for the amount of stuff you're getting and has the largest variety of units, weaponry and content.

While you are deciding, you may want to give the CMRT demo a go. It uses the latest (aside from patches?) version of the game engine for WWII. It's awesome as well, though Soviet infantry lacks ranged AT weapons beyond AT rifles good only versus very light armor.

Yeah, not having fully-updated demos is a real bummer. Probably, they've had to keep them that way to avoid demoing features that you'd have to add an upgrade purchase to actually get.

In the QB screen, you can adjust the Attacker's forces up or down with the Force Adjustment setting at the bottom left. Once you get your feet wet, playing as the Attacker against the QB AI gives you the most challenge. Unless you give the AI overwhelming odds, it does not generally provide much of a challenge as the Attacker once the player has become comfortable with the CM system and core tactics.

You command a reinforced Ukrainian mechanized (BTR-70) company, fighting to take back a town from Separatist irregulars with Russian regulars on call as their lifeline. The download includes a tagged copy of Blimey's excellent Separatist mod, which will work with the scenario (readme file included).

This is the first offering in a series I’m calling Spit & Sawdust. S&S scenarios will use existing QB maps as a base, will not include briefing graphics, and will receive only minimal testing. The goal of the series is to give players reinforced-company-sized SP battles that are significantly better than standard SP QBs, while cutting production-time corners by dropping the normal scenario graphical packaging and thorough testing. S&S scenarios seek to be “good enough” rather than attempting to be a work of art.

I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to make them, but going with this concept offers a much better chance of getting more scenarios out to the community than the standard approach.

Macisle got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in In-game spotting system: are you kidding me?
Seriously. Remember, for every player playing as Blue, there is a player playing as Red who doesn't want to get shafted on equipment performance. That, and a huge part of CM's popularity is its accurate modeling of gear.

There is NO incentive to nerf anything. I call BS on any bias with regards to equipment modeling. If there are problems, they are almost certainly the result of two things:
Truly accurate information for Russian gear is difficult to obtain. The complexity of making a game like CMBS means that not everything can be identified in beta testing and must be looked at after release when having the community at large spotting issues comes to bear.
