Well, water freeze at 0º C, no argue there! However, when I hear "frozen" I'm thinking more around -10º C. 0º C during winter is definitly classified as "mildly", at least here in northern Norway. I guess it depends a lot on your preferences.

Well, I hadn't really tought that I was going to write a "Woohoo, I got it!" post, but I thought perhaps it might be interesting to know that I finally found it here in Norway the other day, only about a month later than the release date... My copy has a sticker saying "Not for sale outside Scandinavia" on it. Can't spot any features that should set it appart from the version released in e.g. England, so I can't say why. One of these days I'd really like an explanation about why CDV sees the need of segmenting the market. What do they gain from it (appart from annoying some of their customers)? Oh well, perhaps that's not given us mere mortals to understand...

Did a QB yesterday. Finnland vs USSR, allied attack. One regular Finnish riflesquad killed 69 inf and captured 8. The next to it only got 31 (IIRC) inf, but it also bagged on KV1. It was night, though.

At least you where able to put your hands on it! Here in Norway the latest info I've managed to find says "perhaps on friday" ... Hawk

Just another feeble attempt to get this thread back on-topic: Thanks to CDV, I can still only play CMBO. After I get CMBB, I think it will be a long time before I return to CMBO. There is just so much more to select from on the Eastern Front, in terms of equipment, terrain etc. Anyway, just my 2 c.

Uhh, 30.82 is still the latest official driver, right? The later ones are still beta versions as far as I can tell. I have installed 40.71. As I don't have CM:BB yet (thanks to CDV) I don't know the status there. However, I haven't had any infinite loops in nv4_disp.dll after installing it. Oh, but they do! They have a web page and a forum for CM:BB. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few who don't speak German, so I'm unable to glean any info from it. And I don't think BFC is going to create a forum where the sole purpose is bitching about their partner... I'm as fed up with CDV as most europeans outside Germany, but even I understand that doing so would be a bad move by BFC! :cool: Those of you that have been here a while know that most here are serious gamers who don't blindly follow the pipes. So, until BFC has convinced everybody that the deal with CDV is a beautifull thing, there will be the occasional growl from those feeling left out in the cold. If that is to much for someone to bear, I suggest they simply ignore any such threads. I really hope CDV keeps their promise and releases CM:BB no later than October the 11th though. Why? I would have though that when you have a 3D object (e.g. a shell) in a 3D space, it would be possible to attach a viewpoint to it. But then, I'm no 3D programmer!

I have finally received an email from CDV! The english version of CM:BB will be available in ... October! Oh well, at least it's official. At some point during then next 5 weeks, I should be able to play CM:BB! Dear Sir, the english version of Combat Mission 2 will be released in October. Perhaps because CDV don't answer emails, except with auto-generated "Oh, we're so glad you wrote us!" emails! And Mace, who do you think is responsible for the deal with CDV? BTS is ultimately calling the shots here. BTS has stated time and time again that they are very happy with their arrangement with CDV and I'm sure it helped boost the sale of CMBO quite a lot. However, it feels pretty frustrating when there is no official communication from CDV regarding CM:BB in english. All I know is what I've been able to read on this forum, and the rumours among the local retailers. There are of course quite a lot of people that pre-ordered from BTS and hasn't received their games yet either, but no one is questioning BTS effort and capability of supplying their customers with their products. CDV on the other hand, could be suspected of ignoring the market outside Germany as there is no info in english what so ever on their web-site about CM:BB. They don't, of course, and I'm pretty sure they have good reasons for delaying, but it would help tremendously if they just could provide us with a little official info! Cheers!

There was a thread by the bald one (IIRC) stating that the manual in the CDV version had to be greatly reduced in order to make it fit into the DVD boxes CDV use, but you can buy the uncut version from BTS. Someone will undoubtedly post a link to the thread. I'm too lazy today!
