  1. New version 1.1 has just been released today. This version will load a campaign's localiztion file and then use the user values for country, unit and technology names in the editor when displaying and editing script data. pawo
  2. Not yet. Vista and Geforce 8800 ... Also, this modern setting is not my cup of tea, but I can't wait (note to self: you have to!) to see what Charles et co. can do with it WWII wise!
  3. Pre-ordered a few days ago. Starting to get the same, good feeling I had just before CM:BO launched (which only climbed to new hights after I got it of course).
  4. Ditto! Heh! I really miss the feeling I got from reading that Alpha after-action report. Even though I suspect CM:SF will be a vastly superior product, I don't think I'll ever come close to that Wow! feeling I got the first time I played the CM:BO demo. Man, those where the days!
  5. Edit: nwm, wrong thread... [ July 27, 2006, 03:40 PM: Message edited by: Hawk ]
  6. Yes, a "little bit" indeed! Thanks, I've allready been through that thread and found some nice bitmaps on some of the links! And no, I'm not doing a LoTR based game. That was just used as an example.
  7. Moonslayer, there are 4 "/" in the URL. I must say it's a very good conversion!
  8. Say I took a map from a favourite book (e.g. Lord of The Rings) and created a scenario for SC2 using the map as well as units named Hobbits, Eorlingas, etc. etc. If I made said scenario available for download, would I be violating any copyright laws? I tried searching, but couldn't find anything about it here.
  9. I agree. This thread is so discriminating! "Hi mom" indeed! Doesn't anyone give a **** about poor 'ol dad anymore? Bah! Hi parental person(s)!
  10. Well, for what it's worth, you have my vote! A CvC option would also be nice when you're runing larger campaigns (like CMMC) and want a quick result from a battle.
  11. Oh, that's just ehwul! Common, spill it! I've been drooling for an option to automate the quick battle generator since I first saw it in CMBO!
  12. Thank you, BFC! In my view, CM still is the ultimate wargame engine for it's scale & setting. Keep up the good work! H.
  13. @ the moders Yeah, you guys rock! It's absolutely amazing what you can do with the bmp files!!! GG, actually I think Fionn's anger got the better of him and he did manage to get himself banned again, but that may very well just be my aging memory failing me.
  14. Something like this? Cool! I didn't know any board game that used it!
  15. Yes, unfortunately most of us though it was better to look for errors and bugs in the beta versions, so that Hubert could send out a good product on the release day...
  16. With the inclusion of a complete map editor, I don't really see the problem. If you don't find the supplied map to your liking, you can always edit it easily enough (or so I hope). I am definitly going to make my own maps/scenarions as soon as I lay my clammy hands on SC2!
  17. Bodø, Norway. Hmm ... northernmost entry so far?
  18. People come and go! I've been a member of these fora since the alpha days on CM1. Sometimes I read/post regularly and sometimes I drop out for several months at a time. Hot new items definitly sparks my interrest, and I guess there may be other who feel that way too. [Disclaimer: I don't assume to speak for anybody but myself ]
  19. Why not wait for the verdict from the beta testers? Yes, I know it's hard changing fundemental parts of a program that far into the process, but by the looks of the screenshots, Hubert can't easily convert to hexes now either. If absolutely all the beta testers agree that tiles are bad for gameplay, then we would probably have a different situation. However, I'm fairly sure that it won't happen. Hubert has spent a lot of time on SC2, and I'm pretty sure he has thought this through thoroughly! Tiles or hexes, I for one am pretty sure that SC2 will be a very good game with next to unlimited replay value thanks to the editors! So, anybody working on a world map yet? Oh, and by the way, octagons won't work well I'm afraid. Although they would create some interesting strategies... [ April 19, 2004, 03:53 AM: Message edited by: Hawk ]
