  1. The Red Army was mostly staffed by conscripts from the captured territories by that the end of the war wasn't it?
  2. I've just been through a massive project in work. Our company used to belong to a giant bank but has recently go through a management buy out. We had 5 weeks to establish our own IT infrastructure. My boss and the head of technology came from a project management background and wanted to plan everything out with timings and everything. I wanted to list what needed to be done and just get on with it. The result? They were sacked, I started doing both their jobs and the project came in on time. AFAIC most project management does nothing but dilute effort. You either plan for every eventuality which means the plan is too big to be of any use and is fragile to any time slip etc or it's not down to any kind of level to be useful.
  3. Looks nice and lush John. Bradley looks a bit squashed though
  4. Good link but what an odd place to find it. Institute for creation research showing geological changes. Seems odd.
  5. Interesting. Excuse the vagueness but I came in half way though a program once. It was something about a range of low hills in the USA. If you see ripples in the sand of a beach the height of the ripple, like a cm on a normal beach, is proportional to the high of the wave, maybe 1.5m. This set of hills was about 20m crest to foot and had been caused by the same action. Apparently an ancient inland sea had drained out there, leaving the hills. Must have been a hell of a sight. 3km high wave...
  6. What are the most common English words?
  7. Have you seen this? De-clunks the interface for a lot of old CM1 users.
  8. I've just got a new video card. I can run "Battlegroup Attacks!" with everything maxed out and no drop in framerate. Not saying I'll be able to run "To the Volgo again" but I can certainly see me playing normal CM1 size maps/unit densities etc. As to where TOW will sit...I don't think that's a problem. Some people like TOW, some like CM. I don't think that will change.
  9. I've had an RPG guy hit first time at a range my opponent thought I'd had a very lucky arty hit*. At least 400m. *we have a history of this from CMAK. I think it was a StuG and a Panther in the same battle. Kyuck kyuck.
  10. I've got a gf GTX 260. I didn't do anything special, I just installed W7 on my C drive, BB/AK are on my D, I ran them and: There's a good performance boost for SF under 64b as well. No warranties, real or implied
  11. As unconventional combatants don't have a defined platoon structure they're defined by the number of combatants fighting in a group. That's a big group. That's also a big picture, can you edit it for size?
  12. I tried just installing it without vitualisation and it worked no problem. I'm on W7 64bit.
  13. Sorry Steve, I can't just let guff like that pass without comment. "Airplane!" was based on "Zero Hour" not Airport 79.
  14. The Garden City Movement was a bit of a sociological movement before WWI. I actually live in Wavertree Garden Suburb in Liverpool, just off Wavertree Nook Road. It's nice. As usual the idea fell by the wayside in pursuit of naked profit. As to Welwyn - I have no idea.
  15. Basel is lovely, from the short time I was there. Very picturesque. Welwyn is very nice apparently. You got kids etc? How much will you both be bringing in? The US always looks like a great place to have a lot of money. Will work be finding you a house etc? Nice choice to have to make.
  16. Bugger - it IS a Mirage. The tailplane isn't canted.
  17. Wait - can bridges be blow/knocked out with arty?
