I've just been through a massive project in work. Our company used to belong to a giant bank but has recently go through a management buy out. We had 5 weeks to establish our own IT infrastructure. My boss and the head of technology came from a project management background and wanted to plan everything out with timings and everything. I wanted to list what needed to be done and just get on with it. The result? They were sacked, I started doing both their jobs and the project came in on time. AFAIC most project management does nothing but dilute effort. You either plan for every eventuality which means the plan is too big to be of any use and is fragile to any time slip etc or it's not down to any kind of level to be useful.

Interesting. Excuse the vagueness but I came in half way though a program once. It was something about a range of low hills in the USA. If you see ripples in the sand of a beach the height of the ripple, like a cm on a normal beach, is proportional to the high of the wave, maybe 1.5m. This set of hills was about 20m crest to foot and had been caused by the same action. Apparently an ancient inland sea had drained out there, leaving the hills. Must have been a hell of a sight. 3km high wave...

I've just got a new video card. I can run "Battlegroup Attacks!" with everything maxed out and no drop in framerate. Not saying I'll be able to run "To the Volgo again" but I can certainly see me playing normal CM1 size maps/unit densities etc. As to where TOW will sit...I don't think that's a problem. Some people like TOW, some like CM. I don't think that will change.

As unconventional combatants don't have a defined platoon structure they're defined by the number of combatants fighting in a group. That's a big group. That's also a big picture, can you edit it for size?
