  1. You gave away the Universe? I mean, OK, but at least ask next time.
  2. I'll add my thanks to the others - great stuff.
  3. FWIW, I think you're doing the right thing by re-planning. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting it to work. You're still both fencing with infantry and arty. You've not tried to win the armour war. Find his tanks reserves - get him to commit them or scout them out - and use your massed armour to kill them. Then use them to win the squishy war. Re-organise, make an attack in strength and see if he brings his tanks out. Be in a position to take advantage when he does. ...or do what you're doing, great fun. I'm actually reminded of a saying of General Grant "In every battle there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten, then he who continues the attack wins.".
  4. "British Mettle" is an absolute gem. TBH, it's the first SF scenario where you really feel like everything is placed in mutually supporting positions. As the attacker you've got to work really hard to isolate somewhere to be able to attack it.
  5. It's experimentation I'm afraid. Lots of different speeds modified by ground types, vegetation, gradient, health etc. Too complex to show.
  6. We don't know is the answer, which, I guess, is why it's not modelled.
  7. CM doesn't model degradation of armour, which I think would be an issue. But given there's no data on it, what are they supposed to base it on? I think given the amount of incoming on the M1 you'd eventually get something through. Even 2 shots on the same area. A weld would pop *somewhere*.
  8. Many a truth eh? Folke! Good to see you again mate. I'll line you up for the first PBEM. Ha det!
  9. You have no idea of the discussions that go on, so don't ascribe me a position. Thanks.
  10. I use a gridded terrain mod that helps terrain to be seen better. It's in the repository.
  11. Cut-n-shunt of a movie. The non-basterds bit was quite good, the basterds bits were awful. It was like one bit was written by a proper writer and one by a hyperactive 12 year old who'd never met. I could imagine it coming out of a writers workshop where they pass a script back and forth between two people who have completely different styles. Not awful, but you want someone to grab Tarentino and shake all the adulation he's had over the past 15 years out of him so he goes back to writing kick-ass scripts with tight, focused dialogue.
  12. That wasn't the British Army though was it? That was the Kings army and the parliamentarians, later the NMA. Was it actually established as the British Army then, or was that some time later?
  13. Animated journey from Earth to the outer edge of the observable Universe.
  14. I'm wearing mine right now. Since I started I've been unbothered by Aliens, Abductions, Shed 7 and friends and relatives. Thanks gautrek!
  15. I'd prefer 10m action spots with the ability for a team to naturally spread over more of them. Lose some map granularity for extra tactical fidelity. I think things are kinda set in stone now though.
  16. Baked scenarios are expected to be played H2H. They are to simulate the player being dropped into command and having to take over a dynamic scenario. Hence no AI plan.
  17. I thought it was the side with the worst tanks won? Or is that just a corollary?
