theFightingSeabee
Here is a scenario I've been working on for a long time. I'm just about done with it and am pretty happy with how it turned out. Here are some screens: Pointe du Hoc, France The Cliffs 2nd Rangers Scaling the Cliffs

PanzerMike
I was at Pointe du Hoc a few weeks ago. It looks just like the real thing. Now we just needs some boats :-)
AstroCat
Looking really good, how does the game handle the steep incline for troop movement?
Thomm
Great map! I would add a small "ramp" at the top of the cliff. Such that soldiers do not immediately get exposed to hostile fire when the cross the edge, compare the first painting. Looking really good, how does the game handle the steep incline for troop movement? The map exploits a flaw that allows units to scale cliffs along low walls (the "ropes"). Best regards, Thomm

Best regards, Thomm I actually had a small ramp at the top, but it caused some problems with the pixeltroops getting stuck at the top. As it is, it's really not too bad.
A Canadian Cat
That looks amazing. What is the size of your map - it looks pretty big. When you make the scenario available I would be interested in try it out. Ian

GDog
The map exploits a flaw that allows units to scale cliffs along low walls (the "ropes"). How in the Devil did you figure that out!? Looks amazing, I was there in 2009, quite a sight.
nik mond
Outstanding work! I am wondering if the world skirt map could be modded, is this file accessable? If so then painting the west horizon side gray/blue would really top this off.
gunnergoz
Amazing! At first I was incredulous, thinking "They just can't do it." Until I saw the screen shots. I would not have believed it possible, but this game engine is so versatile that it can even accommodate this extreme battle environment. Kudos to Seabee and to BFC's design team! Very, very impressive indeed.

LongLeftFlank
From one obsessive historical detail sonofabitch to another: I love it! P.S. I once built a CMSF "Easter Egg" mashup that replaced the engine idle sound loop with a .wav of ocean surf... I "submerged" a jeep in a pit in a corner offshore. It's here
theFightingSeabee
Nik mond, its an old bug from cmsf that is thankfully still there. Longleftflank, awesome! The smoke I'm the water is burning jeeps, I may use your mod, as its in the perfect spot!

theFightingSeabee
I'm feeling pretty good about the Pointe du Hoc scenario. Anyone feel like testing it? I'd like to get another opinion on whether it's ready or not. I can beat it easily but I know where all the enemies are. PM me with your email and I'll send it. Thanks!
