Ex Bellator
For compulsory FUN. Myself and Sodball have been kicking around the idea of a straight forward knockout PBEm tourney. Up to 16 places (14 up for grabs) for us Southern types, giving four rounds - ermm, just one round for half of us - of entertaining mayhem. The initial thought is to try to keep it Southern as we hope a social side may ensue for those players who want it. I will supply a cheesy trophy (no, not real cheese Monkeybutt) for delivery to the winner, Soddy has mentioned that he will supply the beer. I initially deem this to be the SEPTIC Cup, which sets an appropriate tone don't you think, as the South England Players Totally Irrelevant Challenge. If you can commit to approx. one email a day, no whinging, and to act like the English gentlemen we all are (or German if Andreas is in) then please step forward. The games themselves will be simple QB ME 1500 point affairs, full details to follow. Rules, pah! Almost none hopefully.

Soddball
We would consider expanding the tournament to a UK-wide one if we thought that any of you northern ferret-fellating wierdos could play the game. As for the Welsh, I have only one thing to say: BEATEN BY ITALY IN THE SIX NATIONS!! BWAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAAAHAAAAAA!!! Erhum.
Ex Bellator
While I leave my esteemed colleague to the abuse side, I would say that it is our intention to fill all 16 places. So if not enough of the shandy drinkers come forward then it's no problem to include a few ferret worriers, caber tossers and whoever else is interested. It's just that I'll have to think of another name for the Septic Cup if too many non-Southerners get involved, and my addled brain can't cope with the effort.

Holien
I guess Banbury does not count? If it does and you need head count then I am up for it. H

John Malcolm
If you need any more "Northern British" players let me know. I know you guys can get touchy when beaten fair and square by a Scot. Just look what you did to that poor bugger Wallace.

Mark Gallear
As a Yorkshireman I am highly insulted that you Southerners believe that I cannot play. Although this may be true as I find it hard to find the keyboard particularly on Friday and Saturday nights for some strange reason but who says you lot can play!

Apache
Whose Welsh? Ever heard of the saying about 'Assumption being the mother of F*** up'. Still, if the openers are a gauge of the conduct of the English gentleman, I think I'll pass. Ex Bellator
OK, quick poll after a few hours, we have 3 Southerners in, 1 ex-Southerner nearly in, a dual Coventry contingent and 3 Northerners on standby, and one Southerner seriously offended by Sodball within a few minutes of opening. Not bad! The fun has started already Apache, you'll get used to Soddy's little ways, I hope you'll hop back on board. I don't want more than 16 players as that will entail another round of knockouts, and we hope to finish the tourney in short order. However, as there is already a sizeable Midland and Northern contingent clamouring for action we could run a NOWT Cup concurrently (North Of Watford Tourney). For all the shandy drinkers, 'Nowt' is a fine Northern word - you wazzocks. Keep putting your names in the hat, and let's see where we are in a few days. Thanks for the responses so far.
flamingknives
I would, but my access to the 'net is somewhat limited at the moment. While everyone else would be ready for the final, my luckless opponent and I would be on turn 15. Maybe. Felt I should make an appearance for the sake of those with the sense to live somewhere where Brass Monkeys are not forced to be eunuchs due to adverse weather conditions.

Lucky_Strike
Go on then - I'll give it a go - London count as South England? or is it far too important to be part of England! LS
Capitalistdoginchina
Aw shucks, you guys start a tourney just as my computer (along with the rest of my life) is being packed into a container bound for Australia - i was born in London, lived in southern England for 30 years............and now i have no fixed abode! I shall be labeled a Wanderer forevermore. Besides, i would have enjoyed payback for Holien after he mastermined my demise in the original RoW tourney. Maybe next time - have fun guys CDIC

Holien
Hey CDIC... Good luck with the move and I look forward to the time when you unpack it and we can have a game again. Watch out the pirates in the Southern China Sea don't raid it for the CMBB goodies you have on it. H
Soddball
No point letting Holien play unless he has both his arms tied behind his back - we'll get creamed!
