  1. Wicky seems to found his calling in life. I however have just found a bunch of emails from him stacked up in my in box after a traumatic house move and wedding; do you want your turn back?
  2. In the UK walmart owns a store called Asda, from your posts it seams that walmart is basically cheap but crap and or lacking in choice? Asda seems to be actually the complete opposite to the above, good quality vast choice, low prices. Will walmart screw over asda?
  3. Quote... Agreed with Shaka, changing codes and distributing radio traffic is way below the level of a Hitler, or Stalin, or Churchill or Roosevelt or even of any of their generals or admirals. Ultimately these guys where in charge...the buck must stop with someone....I think Churchill was very interested in this sort of thing?..
  4. I captured a lot of enemy units in the last defense scenario, some with 5 men still alive. Was this just a one off, or has it been tweaked? Also several squads became un-surrendered pretty quick when close to their own troops. [ November 19, 2003, 08:39 PM: Message edited by: Makes The Jelly Judder ]
  5. WiLL WE GET TO SEE THE COVENTATOR TANK? I know it didn’t serve but I would like to See it included for those what if scenarios.
  6. I doubt we will get Cromwells in CMAK. 88 equals a resounding whoolp to all tanks. But most german guns were not 88's. And Brit tanks must have been proof aginst these guns at least at somekind of range...... Thw tiger in in CMBB in 43 is still leathal(sp?) 7. Every gets so over exited about the tiger, but from the stats of brit late war tanks both the Churchill and Cromwell tanks both exceeded the meager amour stats of the tiger. Please explain. [ November 18, 2003, 07:28 PM: Message edited by: Makes The Jelly Judder ]
  8. I was of the understanding that it was the modern weapons of war that enabled total war. The MG and good rifles sort of negate the general lack of super human ability of the average Joe; know body can run faster than a bullet.
  9. The armies might have been small but they were nearly always engaged in significant numbers, whilst the distance advanced by the victories armies was in the range of hundreds of miles. The back an forth distances traveled by each nation would have easily cover the whole distance of Russia. I think the problem with CMAK will be that the maps will be too small whilst the number or troops involved will be ok, which is possibly the opposite of CMBB's problems.

  11. Im disappointed, just a bunch of yellow tanks we have all seen before. Where are the crusaders? Just a bunch of yellow panzers from cmbb if you ask me
  12. I agree, Clark was a fool. I have no evidence to back this up! Yet I have yet to read a single account that puts him a good light. I reckon that if you select another General from all those available that you would have a 99% chance they would have been better than Clark, the other 1% would have been just as bad, not worse.
  13. The average UK citizen is freer now than before WW2. We live in a "Land of Hero's" (Sic). Switzerland and Sweden have the equivalent of Britain’s standard of living, but did thy earn it? How many countries did they win freedom for? If one Nation didn't stand in the face of tyranny would they still be free now?
  14. Ok, I kinda figured that the velocity of the shellwould be seriously impacted, but low velocity for the HE shells wouldn't be too much of problem. Could gun crews be given a couple of huge short range HE shells for use in situations where they might be overrun.
  15. Thanks for all the replys guys, all makes perfect sense, just a question of balancing all the factors for the best effect. Right, Ive got another question. When an AT gun was found to be underperforming i.e 2pdr its replaced by a gun with a larger diameter shell i.e. the 6pdr. The names of these guns suggests that its not really the size of the shell that is important but its mass. I assume that penetration is directly related to momentum i.e. velocity * mass. My question then is why didnt the 2pdr just get a heaver (i.e longer) shell, wouldn't that work just as well? What about HE, why increase the diameter of the shell when you can just make the shell longer and stuff more explosives into it? [ June 28, 2003, 09:57 PM: Message edited by: Makes The Jelly Judder ]
