  1. Excellent Nigel, I'm up for that. And a PBEM in your rubble if you fancy it.
  2. Always a good idea. May not work every time though? I will of course continue to experiment, particularly as @Ultradave and I are doing this sort of thing just now... Any thoughts on whether light infantry can go through a gap but perhaps not an HMG squad? @Artkin's post above suggests HMG crews are happy to charge through a gap...
  3. So initial thoughts - it's a Fire and Rubble scenario but no clue as to who produced it. Description has a few typos and is a little short on detail, but anyway... On the map at setup it seems I have no ability to re-position, which is always desirable. I'll continue, but maybe tomorrow...
  4. Okay found it in RT not FB so maybe the wrong thread . Never mind, I'll have a look... EDIT: We are crossing in the ether so to speak.
  5. I've not looked at this one before, but I think I will now... EDIT: it seems this isn't in my FB scenarios folder, is it available somewhere?
  6. Is this the match-up against Artkin? Forgive me if I'm putting 2 and 2 together to make 5.
  7. I'm sure you're right Nigel, one way or another it's a possibility .
  8. Me too. @Bootie would a 16 GB mod-pack uploaded to FGM be viable? Just wondering...
  9. At least Boris can do something right: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61990479
  10. Ah, we're on the same wavelength. Posted about FGM in another thread but I'm not sure if Bootie has limits for huge uploads.
  11. Thankyou my friend. We must look for a triple-sized scenario with clear visiblity .
  12. What a load of 'rubble'! I'm sure I read something like that somewhere but can't see it now . So the long term plan - will the mods and battles (to come) be uploaded perhaps to FGM so that downloading will not require a subscription to the 'huge side' of Dropbox? Not sure if FGM has any limitations on large uploads...
  13. I *also (Bil beat me to it)* think this is a great idea, will look out for it. Also I have played and lost to Artkin, so the best of luck .
  14. Yes this looks great, some of those views are fantastic. Thanks for the hard work. Also might be worth loading up at FGM @Bootie will help I'm sure.
  15. I've found assigning artillery challenging at times (including now) so it's a good question. I'm sure some artillery experts will come along soon...
  16. Good luck JM, and I hope you succeed. Let me know if I can test anything. Or even try to learn the AI programming in the editor .
  17. That's a fair point, hedgerow fighting can be hell (did someone already say that ?). I'm playing a hedgerow H2H just now so enough said. Graphically CMFI does however (in my experience) have the worst 'jaggy' shadows issue though, perhaps the lovely sunny climate combined with low sun at certain times of day?
  18. Well said Wim. And I'd add that the additional scenarios and campaigns by people like your good self (and content by people like @George MC of course ) make a big difference. And I don't mean to belittle the original content or the additional stuff for other titles. For me, starting again I would go BN then RT if I was enjoying myself (which I would be).
  19. Albeit from 1991. Some regions have been rather manipulated since then?
  20. Agreed, I went for Red Thunder first as that is my usual thing (although I'd like the timeframe extended to early East Front as well). Then CMBN (possibily the best to start with for sheer content as said above). Then FI, then FB. I play them all, but at the moment mostly BN as I have some lovely PBEM opponents, followed by RT.
  21. Last time I overclocked was a long long while ago with this setup (including the improved cooling): Core2Duo E6750 2.66GHz OC@ 3.2GHz Arctic Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler ASUS EN8800 GT 512MB OC@ 700Mhz / 2000MHz Thermaltake DuoOrb VGA cooler Things have of course moved on a lot since then, but I had no issues whatsoever with that setup (in fact it's still in my loft, its place taken by a gaming laptop these days).
  22. I've found that what John (aka @BFCElvis) says is generally correct - isn't that right John ? Certainly for me PBEM saves where the number at the end always increments have never failed except for one where I loaded up a preceding save by mistake and guess what, it wouldn't let me overwrite the incremented file number that it already had. This made sense to me. For single player, can you call a save file the same name as a previous one? Not so sure about that, but I have always gone with the automatically incremented number system and it has not failed so far either. Do I end up with a lot of files? Yes - but they can easily be deleted once done with. If I'm missing the point forgive me as I can't see the video either.
