  1. I like that . Good luck in your efforts and if you need a play-tester just let me know. And if you haven't already, PM Mike for the files if they would help.
  2. The more I lose the more I want to play, it's a learning process after all. Unless you're on the dirty end of a very unbalanced battle of course. I think sadly not, some info in the thread below and elsewhere. Also another good friend (Andy) who it seems departed was the subject of the thread. As for John Kettler, I think he may have been given a lifetime ban for comments made on the massive thread, something to do with conspiracy theories? Same happened to General Jack Ripper IIRC. We can only hope that they and others might one day be granted a pardon, but they may not wish to return I suppose.
  3. You are quite right, this will be the issue. PM sent I can confirm that it opens okay for me in v4.04 (BFC). Both as a battle (but with only a kubelwagen ) and as a map in the editor.
  4. Yeah, nothing wrong with that. I had 3 l's and that made it look like I was taking even more time to make a decision .
  5. You do know you can change that? I had a similar issue, a mis-type now corrected .
  6. Good question, I hadn't seen this before. There were some useful folk involved, guess RL just got in the way at the time. @Ithikial_AU is currently a little busy on something else but perhaps one day this could be resurrected?
  7. George, you were on my mind when I wrote my post above . Plus a few others of course...
  8. A good result, 10 years later . My only problem with the campaign is that I don't have SF2 (yet). Easily rectified I suppose.
  9. Oh Wim that's bad news and I feel your pain. If the urge takes you after the dust settles, perhaps one of our great campaign designers could lend a hand and cast an eye over your files to look for the cause?
  10. Okay, a bit of an odd one here, but I couldn't resist this 'contemplative' pose from one of my ermm dismounted crew members:
  11. Ain't that the truth. Nice to see a bit of brotherly love in the forum too .
  12. In this post by Ithikial, the gentleman from Slitherine (forgive me for lack of name, I've not watched the whole piece, just the piece Ithikial kindly paused it on) does actually show March 27th for CMBN under the list for March 2023:
  13. By coincidence I just read the comment below, so it looks like end of March:
  14. Wim, I only just saw this (my bad). Grey Wolves perhaps? What a beautiful mod that was. I haven't played it in a while, CM has taken over...
  15. Hi Rob I think @Ithikial_AU is the person to answer that, but Steve did say in his 2023 thread that this is the next content thing to be released.
  16. @Ithikial_AU is doing the upcoming BP, not sure about campaigns? EDIT: - Three Campaigns o We Start Here – Follow the exploits of the 101st Airborne and 4th Infantry on D-Day. Follow the first paratroopers to hit the ground just after midnight, through to the evening of June 6th. Get off the beach. o Purple Heart Lane – Command the 101st Airborne from the Battle of Ste Come du Mont through to the Battle of Carentan. § A slight experiment in campaign design, allowing the player to fight a rolling battle at their own pace over several in game days. Can you keep pace with history or will the 17SS Panzer Grenadier Division arrive in time to make your task more difficult? Current count, 110 scenario variants so that is quite a long campaign script. § A recreation of the Carentan Operation from Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord. o Fist of Iron – Take control of the 17SS Panzer Grenadier Division on the 13th of June as they launch their counterattack to retake Carentan. Can you defy history?
  17. Okay, I have to apologise to all concerned and congratulate @Chibot Mk IX. You are totally correct. Here's what I saw (from a slightly different angle): Note the selected T34/85 in the background. But as you can see, it was not he who fired the scary blast. Next turn an OT-34 appeared next to the T34/85, and he was the real culprit. And Dave, I'm just loading up the current turn, with you shortly .
  18. Please don't Wim, but that's easy for me to say. As for the 'old' scenarios you're re-working, having played a few of them H2H (even ones you said were not H2H ) always as the Germans (my opponent dictated this, but maybe that's a bad choice of words), I would say that the Germans have a pretty tough ask. And history would agree.
  19. Hmmm, after a quick look in the editor (a new battle not Reitwein) I agree that that seems to be the case. I need to load up the saves and have another look, there were the usual scary spread shotgun graphics from several tanks. I'll check.
  20. That's odd, as @Ultradave's T34/85s in Rumble at Reitwein have just been firing canister at my boys. Can you confirm that Dave, I don't want to go delving into your unit list to check ? In the meantime I'll load up the editor and find myself a few T34/85s.
  21. Oh dear, I'm reminded that I was playing this last June () and then got distracted by H2Hs and testing scenarios for a certain excellent BP that was coming out. My apologies James! So in my scenarios folder I have: A Once Quiet Town A Once Quiet Town Easier V2 A Once Quiet Town German Counterattack and also A Pleasant Italian Town V2 which looks like (and is the same filesize as) A Once Quiet Town Anway, without thinking, I re-installed Counterattack, but I've just tested it and my save loads up fine, so I think I already had the same version. And no excuse not to continue. Great work James, thanks.
  22. Okay, so with no takers on my question I looked through the above thread a bit more. One of the linked sources is definite that T34/85s did not have canister / shrapnel rounds (scroll to near the bottom for ammo loadouts): http://www.armchairgeneral.com/rkkaww2/weapons/art_tanks.htm If we believe that, then perhaps my question becomes "why do T34/85s in CM2 have canister rounds?" Perhaps a deliberate choice based on better information, or perhaps a case of "well the T34/76 has canister so we'll keep the capability for the T34/85"? I don't think I'm expecting an answer to that, but not sure if I should report it as a possible anomaly.
  23. I found myself trying to rotate your screeenshot with my mouse . I haven't played this one - the ground to your right looks higher than the 'red zone', just wondering if you could set up the MGs up there to overlook the trenches? Of course you may be 'too close for comfort' to do that...
