And if that's my fault, apologies. I read some of the earlier posts as being about non-PBEM (non-WEGO) game play but with comments about how it 'might' apply to PBEM. And as a mostly PBEM player I couldn't see how it applied to PBEM.

In general, the answer to that is probably yes. Depends on your definition of old, but I think most here are not 'spring chickens'. And the youth of today are happier with Star Wars Battlefront (2) than they are with Battlefront CM. Not to mention Fortnite.

I think we've all experienced such things, as @cbennett88 can no doubt confirm. In CMFB Meijel Mayhem I had two Panthers cosy up their backsides, with one obviously facing away from the enemy. A short time later, that Panther paid the price. And no orders I had issued would explain their behaviour, but never mind.

You can't, that wouldn't be sensible. So the above advice (excluding Chibot's) does not apply to PBEM as far as I can see.

Thanks for taking the time to post great info my friend. I suppose my question boils down not to why I would use Pause (in the orders phase), but how I can use it in the middle of a PBEM turn as suggested earlier in this thread (and actioned via the button Chuckdyke highlighted). I don't think I can do the latter in a PBEM as it's a pre-ordered feast?

And who doesn't like a bit of 'special access' . And now I have a France battle to look at .

So that's a pause command from the other menu? Once I've sent my turn to a PBEM opponent I can't stick another pause in. Or a withdraw.

Wow, in my *coughs* long CM career (well not quite 3 years actually ) I have never used those buttons. If I set a pause it has been in the orders phase using the options to the right. Thanks for pointing this out, wonder whether it would have made a difference. As for the mod, it looks like JuJu's UI mod (now in the care of Ithikial). I am also using this and don't like the look of the games without it.

Yes, but a 'withdraw' command? For me that's a manual set a path backwards or whatever, AFAIK I have no quick fire 'withdraw' command, or do I? I play only WEGO if that matters.

So I'm probably missing the point here. All I can see in the Manual is By shift-clicking on the map, AI Groups can be ordered to Withdraw towards their movement destination. Vehicles will move in Reverse to the destination, while infantry will leapfrog back while turning around to face behind them. But I don't think this is what you're talking about?

On the BBC it says SU27s dumped fuel on the drone, before 'striking' its propeller. I suppose the latter is in the style of wing-tipping V1s, but taking a dump on it seems unusual (and possibly quite skilled depending on relative speeds).
