@Combartintman, thanks for the input. I had already lightened things up since the last pictures, but probably should tweak the helmets a bit. "Muck(ing)about" is spot on. I much and muck-- often using a word that rhymes--on these mods until I'm going stir crazy.  I'm declaring victory in a bit and calling it done.

Technically there's nothing to test yet however all the hard work has already been done by others (for the People's Army campaign it was done by @Fredrock1957)... once the terrain has been altered & a few tags added all I need to do is slot in a few different forces, tweak a few things here & there, rewrite the breifing &, hey bingo, a "new" scenario is born.
It's a poor mans method of creating content... but it seems to work out more often than it doesn't and my Mother always said "quantity has a quality all of its own".

Now this is seriously cool   Unforgivable that I haven't played it yet.

Personally, I think this would be a fantastic addition to the CM series! How cool would it be to be playing a 
night scenario and watching 'em burst in the air, lighting up for awhile various parts of the battlefield, then
fading/dropping to earth?

'neath the glow of starshells? This would be, as we used to say in Boston back in the '60s: "wicked pissa!"

The implementation of star shells and flares would make a great improvement for night fighting in the WW2 titles.
Could it be done?  I'm assuming the problem is with the Tac AI's visibility and viewing regimes.
Just a thought.

Yes, one of my plans for 0.98 (after the 0.97 "People's Beta" is released) will be to turn the low intensity campaign concept of @puje "up to eleven" (or, I suppose more appropriately, "down to one") with a campaign based, in part, on the Bing West book... a single platoon, a bunch of irregulars, a large map & lot's of skirmishes/patrols.
The (almost ridiculously compact) book must be somewhere in the house @Erwin... it'll turn up eventually. I only started chapter two before it got misplaced but I'm already impressed with the Police Officer (Lam?).

This had been brought up and Steve explicitly said no, on I guess you'd call it moral grounds. No playing the German side butchering civilians wholesale. He even limited Partisan fighters to Russian territory (though the TO&E is still in flux).
But there will be sufficient bits-and-pieces for people to cobble together their own scenarios of course. If the monster Berlin master maps get included they can be subdivided and used as generic 'city' maps to fight on. A city block of flats is a city block of flats the world over.

I work in the medical field.  That's literally the worst possible scenario.  This is several magnitudes more serious than the flu.  The panic buying is a result of poor leadership and people not paying attention (or being unable to be differentiate trustworthy news sources.)   If your news source went from 'Meh....It's like the flu' to 'Holy F*ck!  National emergency!!' in the span of a week, that ought to be a tell.
I stockpiled back in February and have been social distancing for the last two weeks.  You don't need a weatherman....yadda, yadda, yadda

Are you guys F'n kidding me?  You really fall for this clap trap?  Good lord.  The panic and hoarding is a sad over reaction, but the ostrich head in the sand attitude is far worse and more dangerous.  That guy basically spun a web of no real facts and you accepted at face value that yep , all is good this is normal?  wtf??  Sorry, wrong.  This is a serious highly infectious and much deadlier disease.  What next?  The pandemic of 1918 was just another cold season?

Africa and Fulda 1985?
If you do Africa, either the Chad/Libya fracas or the Angola mess would be able to use some of the existing Syrian textures.  South African (currently bugged, but due to be fixed) voices are in Rome to Victory.
1985 is a good year for 'What If' WW III.  Anything before, the Pact steamrolls the West.  Much after and the West's technology stops Ivan cold.

I'm experiencing modular building texture issues since R2V was released. I have both modules and have installed via the master download. Here are some examples:
Moving the camera changes the texture from solid wall to empty texture.

Different texture from inside and outside the same building.

Moving the camera changes the texture from solid wall so that a door appears. No way of knowing which is the "true" texture.

Different texture from inside and outside the same building. Window textures broken and door solid from one side but not the other.

Window textures broken but not all levels, only the occupied one (compare to above where all levels are broken).

Comparison between outside and inside of the same building - door appears/disappears and different broken window textures.

Anyone else seeing this? I have no building mods (are there any for FI even?).

yeah i tried doing that. problem is the stryker does not have good spotting to start off with. i'd say it's on par with the bmp3ms. javelin teams riding in strykers seem like a far more flexible tool to me

I think the best way to deploy them is far to the rear, behind hills. Treat them like direct-fire AT guns, don't bunch them up, deploy them with good LOS but try to conceal them. I wouldn't use them in maneuver, I doubt they can fire on the move. Range is your best friend -- try to keep the T's and BMP's, at arm's length.
If the maps were bigger, you'd have more opportunity to flex that advantage. You can also use them as precision bunker-busters, which I found useful in CM:SF2.

Personally? "Badly" is what I usually go for.

Yeah, hull down, scoot, and hope you don't have too much return fire. One obviously advantaged position would be to make use of the optics, and dump some IR-blocking smoke before cresting a hill with them, but that's a lot of resources expended on something you can usually do better with a Javelin, particularly in CMBS.

The other challenge one often faces in CM games is that one is not able to use TOW's (or other long range weapons) at optimal ranges (3 Km+) due to map sizes and/or restricted LOS.
