    The frequency of patches is way higher at other game companies (at least one a week at a lot of them) with similar amounts of developers. In comparison you can expect 1 patch a year with BFC games, I'm not sure I understand how that's something to be proud of.
    Now Combat Mission doesn't have anything game breaking really (which is absolutely something to be proud of) so I don't expect a patch a week but its always a surprise when something small takes a year or more for a CM game.

    But isn't that part of the game?  Should developers not fix bug?  I dread seeing a bug in any CM game mainly because I know its months/years away from being fixed.  There are software and software game companies that are the same size as BFC with just as complex delivery systems that have a steady stream of patches and fixes going on.

    Yep, I also wasted much too much time on reporting bugs. And not because I "fancied myself a tester", but simply because I wanted to help improve the game. I've dialled down the bug reporting a lot though, and I'm sure BFC has appreciated the peace and quiet.

    Shadow Empires developers are 1 (one) guy in total. There is an official bug reporting topic on Slitherine's forum site, and he looks into each one of them. Also answers each one of them. Maybe he can give some advices to you.
    I quote: "Leave the bug tracking to BFC.  Perhaps if you get invited to the Beta team some day then you can participate in all the bug tracking and reporting that you would ever want, but for now just go and play the game and enjoy yourself. " Link
    I thought it is in common interest to fix the bugs. I am happy because my game gets better. You are happy because less bugs = better product.
    As for the Beta testers: please note that I also waste my free time to report bugs.

    Let me remind you that the release of Fire and Rubble was held up by a bug that was reported publicly years ago., but nobody saw that report because it was submitted by a public user.

    Hola guys,
    I need voice actors. Please PM me if you have an interest and the equipment to make the wave files.
    Bringing some CMBB countries voice .wav files over to the CMX2 world creates a gap in certain areas. The artillery commands and such as that.
    I need some Spanish speakers to help make voices for a CMRT Spanish Blue Division Mod later this year!

    I've witnessed several small arms friendly fire incidents in a night battle playing the Italian forces in CMFI just yesterday. It was the first mission of the "Fleeting Moment" campaign and there it happened several times that some troops opened fire with their rifles on their comrades. I guess this can happen if they are out of comms, which can happen quite easily with the Italians and their lack of radios. Just to be clear: No area fire commands where used when the friendly fire incidents happened. One of the incidents was at pretty close range even, when my company commander opened fire on one of his subordinates using his pistol!
    After one of my troops got killed by one of his comrades I tried to reduce friendly fire by assigning fire arcs to all my troops, to prevent them to shoot in the direction of friendly forces.
    It certainly makes night battles "more interesting".

    I did a brief search here but found no hits. Maybe I missed them.
    With CMFI R2V bringing us "good stuff" <the French Adrian helmet, French names file and French voices> I was thinking of the possibilities of a Fall Gelb mod (Invasion of France)
    From my limited modding experiences with CM, I think it is easier to drag all that "good stuff" to here at CMBN. Mostly because the vehicles are best left in the title they originated from.
    Here we have the what? Those French tanks from Market Garden? Some of the earlier panzers too! (IIRC)  ..and Fallschirmjagers for early war missions! @mjkerner
    I bought CMFI R2V and JUST YESTERDAY installed it. Does it have any French weapons? I think I read they just have US springfields. Oh well.
    So, just thought I would see if anybody wanted to collaborate/partner up for a Fall Gelb mod. Steady long term progress over the next year...

    I played the Warsaw 44 operation in CMBB just months ago. Seeing this resurrected in CM2 with FR would be a great thing.
    About the movie, never saw it, is there a way to watch it in Polish with English subtitles somewhere?

    Time that some of us are waiting to CMRT module " the grand Russian Offensive Bagration"...
    in a poor western region the Polish peoples prepare to resist and have the hope to receive some help to the Russian Army...
     
    This is why I TRY to built a little mod...

    This is what I realise for the time.
     

     
    But because I don t have enough knowledge’s in the modding world, uniforms are with a lot of bugs and far away to be finish yet, I am busy to  trying to modding some 
    weapons like Sten and Kar98  to added to the " Shadow Polish Resistance army".
     
     
     Also the german troops categories SS, are not including in the CMRT module, than i have to pick up left and right uniforms from some Modders.
     

    If somebody is interesting to lend me a hand I will really appreciated.
     
    My goal is to added all these one...I made a mistake in my mdr mds files and dont find more who is what but soon...
    I dont use Photoshop but Paint this is why the result are not perfect...for the time !!

    Ciao amico!
    A CMFI Partisan Mod is definitely more of a feasible possibility AFTER the new CMRT F&R module is released. Correct me if I am wrong, my vision is that this CMFI Partisan Mod would be Italian partisans speaking Italian with Italian names in place of one of the Allies (we'd pick after careful consideration) versus the normal German axis opponent.
    Do me a favor and please make yourself a reminder to contact me this October or so and we can start formal discussions to get a CMFI Partisan Mod team organized and lay out tasks and ideas. I appreciate your suggestion and am looking forward to it!

    Maybe some folks can help me? I have atrophied on some of my CM related skills and know-how...
    Q1. Is dropbox the thing I should use or is there something better? I would eventually upload to CMMODS of course but I always loved the freedom of sending dropbox links so people could try out my mods or or scenarios and provide quick feedback.
    Q2. I guess photobucket is mad at me, I used to see my images plain but now they say photobucket across them. For future image hosting and posting here, what is best?
    Q3. I had a free download of photoshop but now it seems to always crash. Is there something else free that I can open my old photoshop files with?
    I appreciate any advice on the above Q's. Thanks.

    Four "Bong-Hai Civil War" Era Campaigns- -The amazing 15 mission "Year of the Rat" by @puje,
    -A 15 mission People's Militia concept campaign by myself (The Special War).
    -A conversion of a 7 mission CMA campaign originally by @Fredrock1957 (now dubbed Major Nguyens Command).
    -A, tweaked, 7 mission Urban "conversion" campaign (The Second Battle of Ikke) by myself.
     
    Sixteen "Bong-Hai Civil War" Era scenarios -By far, the most impressive mission is the epic & original 'A miserable damn performance' scenario by @Combatintman.
    -Most of the remaining scenarios are "conversions" (some of the scenarios from the 'Open Beta' have been tweaked).
     
    One Modern era Campaign- -(Battle of Quy Ly- 4 missions) A rudimentary conversion of an old (very old) campaign by @RommL. Primarily an experiment in seeing what it takes to update a CMSF campaign, I made a few quick alterations and beefed up the opposition somewhat.
    Nine Modern Era scenarios (one original scenario by @Sgt.Squarehead and eight simple conversions by myself).  
    Three Quick battle map conversions by @Combatintman.  
    Installation & set-up
    The Heaven & Earth modpack is designed for CMSF2 version 2.03 or 2.04, it is advised that you use no other mods alongside Heaven & Earth as it is a complete package with a unique UI, sounds, scripts, special effects, vehicle's & weapons... many of which are swapped internally by the use of tags.
     
    Place the mod pack into your empty mod folder in C:\Users\user\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force 2\User Data
    Place the contents of the scenario folder into your scenario folder in C:\Users\user\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force 2\Game Files
    Place the contents of the campaign folder into your campaign folder in C:\Users\user\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force 2\Game Files
    Place the contents of the map folder into your map folder in C:\Users\user\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force 2\Game Files
     
    For Steam users...

    In terms of settings, because Heaven & Earth maps are often more complex than the desert maps of CMSF2, you may find it useful to slightly reduce your '3d Model Quality' settings. 'Balanced' or 'Improved' should be sufficient for smooth gameplay. Remember you can change your '3d Model Quality' in-game using Shift+[ & Shift+]. You can also toggle shadows with Alt+W.
     
    Some of the newly created objects may look odd with shaders off. Alt+R will toggle your shaders in-game.
     
    Changes from the 'Open Beta'
    Scripts text file updated for latest (2.03) patch. Animations: Altered "Jump" animation. Editor: New look Environment: New ground brush red, hard ground brush red, gravel & heavy rock textures. Distant bitmaps enlarged to CMSF2 sizes, new distant dirt bitmap. Tweaked red dirt texture. Tree 2 less vibrant, many distant tree bitmaps have been tweaked/made darker. Different 'moodier' overcast clouds. New road mix. New background. Distant bush textures added. Buildings: Aquilla's Temple roofs added. Defensive works: Tweaked barbed wire colour.  Wire fences also tweaked. ME soundscape: updated to 1.5 (generally snappier & crackier)... also a modern era 'end of battle' track added. UI: Placeholder potraits for modern Bong-Hai forces. UI: Blue Syrian icons added, dutch icons added. Some era/tag specific icons added. UI: Era specific compasses added. UI: Era specific ranks & branch icons added. UI: Hi-vis TRP, by JuJju, added. Also alternative surrender flag added. Blue Infantry: British & Dutch DPM uniforms tweaked. Placeholder German flecktarn uniform replaced by JMDECC's uniform. Red Infantry: Modern Mechanized/Guard uniforms now using a recoloured JMDECC uniform. Vehicles: UK Mortar Bulldog LOD issues fixed. The few missing voice files were filled. [rickety] 16m & 32m steel span bridges now also get converted into wood bridges. [delta] Background tweaked & hazy/thick hazy background fixed. [paddies] Wetter looking mud, new tall green grass & weeds. Background tweaked. [mountains] New bush doodads, new grass & weeds. New tree 3. Tree 5 tweaked. Several new ground tiles. Greener grain tile (for the poppies). New building 4 & 7. Tweaked sky. [boonies] Wire fence model swap deleted. [daybattle] & [nightbattle] Three new 'distant battle' ambient sound tracks for use during extensive fighting. Activating [nightbattle] during non-night hours will turn on the dawn/dusk battle ambience. [cache] Blue syr icons added. [ikke], [burnt] & [burnt ikke] New Background, sky & terrain combinations. [night] If activated during the day this will now also activate dawn/dusk ambient sounds. [arclight] New tag which expands the invisible M129 Stryker concept with additional invisible or inaudible extra's (floating icons, US crew & chatter).

    OK, back in the game. Combining the great mods by @Kieme(ITA), @Pete Wenman, @Aquila-SmartWargames, @JulianJ (Allah's praise be upon them!), and my humble self, into a CMSF2 'Ramadi Pack'. Giving 'the Big Suck' some life, before driving it off the streets with gunfire....
    This is the city's sole operational filling station, near CP296, c.2004, before this stretch of ASR MICHIGAN became 'Little Hiroshima' due to the ongoing war against US convoys.
    I'd forgotten what a time suck all this stuff is though. Time for some suitable music....

    So, the results of the Great Bong-Hai Boat Race are in.....The winner (as expected) is:

    The crew had time to get out and crack open a beer while they waited for the other competitors to arrive (roughly 4m40s to cover 1km).
    Second place was a close run thing between the LAVs, our BRDM based Patrol Boat and that stalwart workhorse of CM:HE the BTR-60:

    Bringing up the rear at a leisurely pace were our Fuchs based MG Boat and MG Junk followed by our BMP-2 based Patrol Boat and the BMP-1:

    Thanks dude.....TBH it's never going to be close to real riverine fighting and it will always be largely up to the player to make it fun for himself with some sort of honour system (otherwise it'll be hull-down behind an island and massacre the dimwit AI or exchange potshots with the hull-down naval forces of another equally cheaty player. 
    Returning to our story, our resolute heroes are not so outnumbered as it might at first appear.....They do have some 'little friends':

    BHIAF Nordyun C-64 Norseman observation aircraft (Built on the RQ-7B)

    BHIAF A-4 Skyraider ground attack aircraft (Built on the AH-1W).....IMHO these are very, very cool, the mighty @37mm has imported custom sounds for when these guys come screaming in to the attack! (they are activated in game by use of the [spad] tag)
