And contrary to what some people say that is totally fine.
    So true.
And I actually don't disagree with what you said. I would love to see increased communications. Really I would. Here's the thing: more communication is not how Steve has operated these past 20 years. I don't see him changing that. So, providing exemplars of what people want and saying "please be more like ABC" is not likely to change anything.
No problem with people citing examples of what they want to see, mind you. Cool. I do have a problem - but will not longer be commenting on - people acting all entitled and pissy about thing A or B that they demand. BTW I am *not* saying you are doing that - you clearly are not. But you have to admit that has been happening in this thread.

I somewhat disagree. While I do believe that PR should never respond to every little complaint (it would take a lifetime), I think a general update would do them well. And, while some would definitely be annoyed with the delay, I would think that most reasonable people would understand the process and accept it. BF's ultimate goal shouldn't be about ending these silly arguments. Rather, their focus should be on heightening the quality of their brand image and their communication with the consumer.

Nice poem 😂  I've got nothing better to do so here's another one 😂 :
There is a game by Battlefront, that rules the gaming league
Combat Mission owns this title, and none other can compete.
But sadly the game never released, and stayed in development mode,
And even after thirty years, people still wait for it to go.

    @Battlefront.com
Why do you do this to us?
We just want to love you, hug you, and give you all of our money.
Crazy thing is, you won't even just take the money.
This is a very complicated relationship. I think we need counseling.

Yeah, as of late, I am not happy with Bohemia Interactive. I'm much more interested in Virtual Battlespace then in more garbage survival shooters. The trend seems to be that they are going to be making kiddy games for the consumers and proper simulations for governments.
Thank the Nine that BFC is sticking to their niche. I can't wait until Rome to Victory, let alone the unnamed Red Thunder module. Hopefully CMSF 2 does really well and cash can expedite the development of these. I'm curious regarding BFC's opinion on crowdfunding. I'd be glad to be a backer of more content.

Thank you for your support, people! I really appreciate it!
    Tactical situation & plans
Mkay, I'm gonna get a little creative here. Bonus points to people who can guess all the references. I came up with a couple of defined objective areas I need to clear to complete my mission.
1st Platoon is barely hanging in there. It's low on ammo and manpower. But there are two areas I need them to clear. Obj Drake is the rest of the village up until the Bridge 003, minus the separate badass walled compound where the RPG-29 guy is currently residing (that's Obj Vasquez).
2nd Platoon is in good shape, with only one squad being currently engaged in the trenches. As soon as mortar fire mission is over, I'll get the smoke screen up and let Marines rush to the nearest compound (Obj Morty). Getting to Obj Rick would be their next move.
3rd Platoon is still in Reserve and will be tasked with clearing Obj Phelps & Jones. The situation there is a complete mystery (hint hint) to me. Someone'd have to investigate the safest & quickest route for AAVs to use so I could drop the Marines off as close as possible (probably the main road aka Route Major).
Scout Snipers & LAR Platoon will keep scouting the flanks, southern and northern respectively.
    That's it for now.

Your argument is weak because it is factually incorrect. The full game release window is end of Sept not the demo:
    https://www.battlefront.com/

Secondly if a customer has paid for something they have a right to know when to reasonably expect to receive the product. If BF can't make the window, that's fine (we understand) but update us with the revised window. E.g. is it weeks or months, or next summer? (EDIT: And we are not even onto the issue re overdue patch releases)

Expecting the Developer to offer a simple update is not unreasonable when the customer has parted with cash for a product not yet received!

But we are going over old ground already established in this thread....

The only reason this thread is continuing is because of weak retorts from those trying to defend BF,  that then bring posters back to reiterate the same inescapable truths about this whole matter.

There have been a lot of good points made in this thread.
They're even better when they're kept at a civil level and the ad hominem vitriol is left out.
A game which causes emotional responses is a pretty good game, in my opinion. (Someone mentioned Bejeweled. Yeah, it pisses me off that my wife kicks my ass on that game.)
By definition, beta testers are fans of the game. We are tied to a non-disclosure agreement. That causes stress. I'd like to tell you more, but all I can do is play Bejeweled to vent...and that's not going as well as I'd like.

It's like you got a bunch of fussy grannies waiting at the bus stop.
"Oh, it's those bus drivers, again. They're always late."
"It's not their fault! The traffic here is always bad."
"Oh? You're in love with them, then? You always defend them."
"No. You're just putting blame on something they can't control."
"Oh, the bus company should at least give us better schedules."
"No, no... Then you would complain about that schedule when the bus is inadvertently late or early."
"Well, I have a right to complain if the bus is late!"
"If it isn't convenient to you, learn to drive!"
"How about /you/ learn to drive! I expect these bus drivers to do that, that's why I buy the tickets."
"It's a busy road, even if you're the best driver you couldn't always be on time."
"Oh, so you're defending them, again?"
Other people waiting for the bus have heard these grannies argue the same points yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that...
If you want to amuse yourself, read these discussions in the voices of John Cleese and Eric Idle.

The most frustrating thing to me is that  when someone complains about the comms blackout, it's immediately run up as a tirade about missing deadlines.  There are a number of people who have specifically stated that its not about the date, its about being left in the dark.
Can someone who is in any kind of "know" just address that?  And its not just about this site.  There are threads on other sites where the attitude is much harsher about the lack of updates.  And those sites should be a marketing dream for BFC.  Instead, BFC is vilified for not communicating.
A simple five minutes to post an update would solve this particular point.  A simple "Its taking longer than expected.   Limited time, overly complex, unexpected challenges, dog ate my homework, yada yada."

I would love to pre-order CM:SF2, but my concern is whether the game is going to be delayed. We're already at Sept. 27 and no further info has been released, at least from my understanding. Don't get me wrong, I have full intention of purchasing CM (seems like a pretty incredible game), but the fact remains I could spend my money on something else for the time being (Steel Beasts, TrackIR, etc.).
