My two cents on some of the detail issues: as the admin above posted, there's a serious resource commitment involved in trying to get every detail of every month of every force exactly correct.  Would I rather have canadians or brazilians or free french be exactly correct and delay all the big picture stuff??  heck no!  I want the team working on the next big release way more than I care whether some small faction used 2 or 3 men scout teams.  I understand that's important to folks but it has a high cost for very little return.  Do I want to delay Barbarossa or N Africa (some day in the future....) because they had to spend a couple months worrying about whether the spanish blue division was perfect??  There's 160 divisions on the eastern front, I'll be happy if 90% of them are correct and the others are a little off, but I want the damn game.  So my vote is put in the NZ, the free french, etc, and re-use the equipment as much as possible and don't worry about every dang detail or we'll never get anything.  90% is good enough.

Yeah, Pieper's forces were very short of everything as the campaign progressed in real life.  And working w shortest days of the year.  and horrific traffic jams, and mud, and blown bridges.  They weren't going to get very far unless the american engineers chose to help instead of hinder them -- doubtful that was gonna happen

ah yes, I believe I was responding to you.  But point still taken. I've got a couple hours w no one home.  Time for some SF2.
 

Sometimes I get beat up in a scenario.  I sometimes then unbalance on purpose and just beat the daylights out of the other side.  It feels cheap but somewhat satisfying.

I just played Temple to Mars in CMFI, attacking up Monte Cassino in a snowstorm.  I was having a very hard time about halfway in.  So I decided to 'pull back'  and regroup -- I went to scenario editor and gave myself more artillery, re-started and got revenge.  Was cheating but felt pretty good actually
If you play that one, be sure to use to make your artillery & mortars count.  Germans are dug in so doing wide area shelling useless.  Have to get observation and hit them with precision.

Like everyone else here, I want more content.  I want it now.  Or at least by Monday.  I want eastern front 41-43, I want the desert war.  I want 1980s nato vs warsaw pact.  I want Korean war.  But BF is just a few developers and delivering software is ****ing hard, really ****ing hard.  For those who have never had to do that it's hard to imagine how much goes wrong in the simplest ****ing thing when it's in the hands of users. 
So keep complaining about wanting more, I will too.  But attacking BF personally like that, basically calling them thieves, that's just ****ed.

Wow, CarlWAW.  That was really awful what you wrote.  I am not being 'milked'.  When they have new content, I give them money.  When they don't, I don't.  If they are scamming us they really need to do a better job of it. 
Yes, please move on.  You are distracting the developers from making new content for fanboys like me.

very cool DerKomissar, I fought this battle not too long ago.  I lost, badly.  I then went back & tried a re-do knowing a bit about the american positions.  And lost badly.  Good luck.  Those  king tigers seem so tough, taking so many hits --- but once main gun & a track are damaged they aren't much use

Charles MacDonald's book was the best I have read, though Anthony Beevor's recent was also very good.  MacDonald was a company commander at the bulge (see his book Company Commander) and wrote a number of very good books on WW2. 

Getting one man team is easy.  All I have do is say "glad that area is cleared" and send forward an entire squad.  60 seconds later I have a one man team.
