    Quick update:
    Kafr Nabudah 4k is coming along nicely. Qasabiyeh, Kabani, and Tal Malah have been updated internally for the campaign. Here's some in-progress shots of Kabani after the elevation rework.

    Playing Qasabiyeh - Blue Attack is quite fun as Blue. Nice scenario. I do not want to give some spoilers. But, after my second attempt, I am still running out of time. 50 minutes is quite short since I am a very cautious player. But, I have not used all my artillery assets... so back for a third attempt. 😏

    Very nice! I definitely recommend making use of every asset for that scenario, they're all designed that way. It's not an easy battle by any means, I can't tell you how many times my guys ended up getting their heads chopped off during testing...

    I enjoyed the town clearing a lot. Compound to compound fighting. There didn't seem to be any reason not to just level the place with indirect fire though, which might have been the sensible option.

    The relief mission that followed was probably too straightforward - I stayed mounted and just rolled into it, relying on firepower to win.

    i wanna say - this gameplay and the style of coup d’etat really really embodies the possibilities and imagination of the designers and of CMSFII in general. I really really wish to commend both. Valley of death is cool as it’s a campaign with a narrative .

    yeah, the ww2 games are great, but I don't think they have the same leeway to design things of this nature.  Non conventional warfare inspires non conventional design maybe?  Whatever the reason am loving the crop of stuff coming up.

    Thank you guys for downloading it.
    I'm sad to I have a few doubts on how the ending screen of the campaign plays out. I can't really figure out what activates the win or lose message. Whether it is average mission result, or solely result on last mission. Let me make it clear, there is nothing with the gameplay of the campaign (as far as I'm aware). But if you get a "You lost" message after you complete the campaign, (and you feel you shouldn't) that's an F up on my part!

    After months in the making, I have finally completed my campaign Valleys of Death. It turned our to be quite an ambitious project, with 11 missions!
    The campaign revolves around a US Army light infantry company, manning a remote combat outpost in an Afghanistan inspired terrain.
    Unlike classic CMSF, which highly favors shock and awe and maneuver warfare, Valleys of Death deals with the issues of small units operating in a clearly defined AO. This means that, like in real life, you will conduct operations on the same map many times, with each mission focusing on different areas and objectives. By the end you will come to know the area very well, and this knowledge is key to defeat the enemy.
    Features:
        11 missions     A large 2X2 km map and 2 additional maps     Modern counter-insurgency infantry combat     Heavily inspired by Afghanistan related media (Restrepo, Taking Fire, etc.)     Base game, no modules needed

    From the briefing: 
    FISBUK PRISON:  
    Fisbuk Prison is in the southeast area of the city (Grid: 45012500).  Ten of the remaining twenty aldermen (political prisoners) are confined in the prison.  The prison is guarded by conventional forces.  Demolition charges can Blast the aldermen free after regime troops guarding the prison are driven off.  The ten aldermen are regime unit objectives worth 10VPs each and must be safely brought to the City Council Building and restored to power.  The aldermen must use the exit, inside the City Council building, prior to the end of the scenario.  Freeing the aldermen and temporarily occupying the administration building of the prison will persuade the city police (See Police HQ section) to join the rebels. 
    Note:  If the rebels make their broadcast from WTF radio station while the 10 aldermen are still confined at the prison regime forces will execute them.  The regime would earn 100VPs for the 10 aldermen confined at Fisbuk Prison.  
    SF team provides overwatch as rebel hired mercenaries enter the front gate of Fisbuk Prison.
     

    After a sharp firefight the political prisoners are freed from their cells.

    The freed prisoners walk among their liberators on the way to board trucks that will transport them to the City Council building located within the Government Complex.

    Hello Gentlemen
    I had hoped to delay the announcement of this until the new CMMODS site was 100% finished and all the mods uploaded however due to circumstances I am pulling the announcement forward to... well now.
    After recent discussions between GreenAsJade and Battlefront it has been decided to relocate the CMMODSIII site to fall under the umbrella of The Few Good Men where The Proving Grounds and The Scenario Depot already reside. 
    To this end work has begun on moving the modifications currently hosted at CMMODSIII to their new home at CMMODS IV.  As you can imagine this is a major job and will take a few weeks.  CMMODSIII will remain open until the full transfer has taken place so for now I request that no new mods be uploaded to CMMODSIII. 
    Within the next few days CMMODS IV will be opening the requests section for folk interested in becoming Creators (formerly Authors) and at this time the new upload process will be implemented.  This will be under the Instructions section of the new website but I will post in this thread to keep you all in the loop.
    A few points about the new website worth mentioning... all files will now be held in cloud storage so even a catastrophic website crash will not impact any loss of modifications.  All files from the old CMMODSIII site will be relisted and recently with the help of @Erwin I have acquired approx. just shy of 300GB of modifications with quite a few that slipped through the net between the Repository and CMMODSIII transfer over 3 years ago.  So as you can imagine Im going to be very busy over the next few weeks.
    Please do not subscribe to the new CMMODS IV just yet or you will be inundated with copious amounts of uploads... I think I uploaded over 100 today... you really don't want that many notification emails dropping in your inbox anytime soon!
    In closing I want to thank Martin for all his sterling work over the years keeping CMMODS running and it's an honour to pick up the gauntlet where he left off.
    Without further ado, here is the new site, still a work in progress but getting their quickly.

    @Bootie you are a workaholic!!   It makes me wonder, do you ever sleep?  If so probably only a few hours a night.  Another great contribution to the community.  
    Also, a big thank you to @Erwin for saving 300GB of content.  Some of this content would have been forever lost if it were not for Erwin.  +1 up vote for Erwin!  
    Bootie does a lot of work for the community.  CMMODS is just one of several sites that he runs and maintains in addition to his RL commitments.  Below is a link to a site that helps to support his efforts.

    It's another masterpiece for sure, although imo (and I'm curious as to whether other testers think this or not) it has a very different feal from TOC. In TOC, I usually found myself reacting to unfolding events instead of taking the initiative. Coup is the other way around. Here, you've got the initiative fairly early on in the scenario. Also there's more explosions in coup, which is a plus for me haha
