  1. I feel your pain. Sometimes doors are rendered impassable because of slight changes in elevation. This occurs quite a lot in Final Blitzkrieg, as has been pointed out in other threads.. Also, some of the buildings introduced in Market-Garden had a problem with troops entering through the side of the building rather than the front or back door, this was then ported over to Final Blitzkrieg. As you mentioned it is a particular problem on the Aachen map as rather than being detached houses, they have been set into rows alongside the new FB building types, and therefore, the player has no idea which door the troops will end up being able to use. Sadly, I don't think that the problem can be fixed using the current engine, unless scenario designers want to re-visit their work and remove the problematical buildings and post a new version of their campaigns or battles for us to destroy.
  2. Well done on the results that you got. Give it a few years for the memory to fade and then try it on "Iron".
  3. You're welcome mate. I hope that you have fun fighting it. I think that it is balanced well to play as either Axis or Allies.
  4. Hopefully this will work. I've checked the dates of my files and from what I can tell only the Tank Riders scenario was included in both the demo and the full game. Monster Mash.btt
  5. If that is the case, then I must have made a copy of it from the demo folder and installed it into my game folder after I bought the game. My apologies.
  6. If you click on "Games" on the main page, and then "Red Thunder" and look for" Demo" you'll find it there. Alternatively, this battle is also included in the game itself.
  7. Nice pictures Wicky. There are still a few pillboxes in my home town covering the Medway. When I was a kid there were still conical dragons teeth by the main bridge. Unlike the standard pyramid shaped variety these had a hole running through them, so that the Home Guard could insert a poll and then run them out into the middle of the road, before taking cover. And would have filled the car sized gaps shown in this ....
  8. He didn't get "all worked up". A few days ago ASL Veteran offered a very helpful explanation of how the game works. You then decided to twist what he said, and turned 20 or 30 metres into several hundred. Ho hum.
  9. No pots unearthed. But, hopefully forumites who want a CM Early War might enjoy it.
  10. 1. You get that in the UI you click a unit anyway. 2. Why? The info we are given is historically accurate.
  11. "One stone is a stone, two stones are a wall, and three stones are a building." As a certain long haired professor once said, and I don't mean Professor Longhair, his talents lay elsewhere.
  12. "And now on Channel 4, it's Tony Robinson and Time Team. On this week's episode they unearth a medieval kitchen, to see if both pots and kettles really were black."
  13. A few steps = a metre/yard. I can't help think that it was further away than that. And they nailed it. So give 'em a cheer, not a whinge.
  14. Almost every clump of trees contains Russians. Just when you think that you have killed them all, bang, more of them.
  15. I agree with you that a bit more info would be nice. With regards the timing of reinforcements, perhaps the designer is trying to reflect the actual uncertain nature of the invasion itself. As for where your reinforcements will arrive, you need a very good memory of the previous two battles. I'll add some more thoughts once I finish the fight.
  16. Declan, I didn't know that you were pals with Steve Cram.
  17. Very true. And even with tanks you had to hope that they didn't sink into a muddy shell crater.
  18. Yes, I had it too often the last time I attempted Montebourg, I gave up after five missions, despite them being fairly comfortable wins, both it, and the gap charging, made playing the campaign too much hassle. But, when things are all fixed I shall return, as MacArthur said to that brothel keeper in downtown Manila ... Allegedly.
  19. Very true, it is a real beach, with lots of gullies between the dunes to move through. I went for attacking down the left flank, using my Brens for suppression, then adding the MMG's and Mortars to the mix as they came ashore, rather than wait for the tanks and naval guns. I only swung right after the naval bombardment was over.
  20. In the meantime, Del Boy goes hunting for missing vowels, and consonants, for that matter.
  21. "It's the G.P.O. Telecommunications Tower now, and forever, get it. I don't wanna hear none of that "telecom" nonsense."
  22. In the example above it could be a case of the corner AS being unusable by a "Squad" which is what you have, despite it only consisting of four men.
