  1. Yeah, I once had a Puma crew taking out a complete squad from, say, 7m distance. The 9 bullets per pistol don't last long, but can put out tremendous firepower for a minute.
  2. Hmmm, I found collection quite ok. Sure, I would not agree to all of them, but in general: Nicely selected. One correction to John's statement above: The list includes "Zulu" about the Battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879, which is pre-WW1. And that movie really is brilliant!
  3. The question is: Did he kill the tank or fid he fail miserably? ?
  4. Fair enough. As I said: Just a thought. Any rating would probably not produce very reliable data anyway. But obviously, I like the idea to have all relevant info in one place.
  5. Thanks, Ian. Great work there! It'll be interesting to see, how complete my scenario collection is. One thought, however: Did you consider to add some sort of rating tool? I understand, it will probably be difficult to get some sort of relevant or fair rating, but it may be helpful nevertheless to see, if people liked or disliked a scenario.
  6. Well done, mate. And start setting money aside, anyway. Sooner or later you'll buy the other games, too. ?
  7. Hi Joe Perhaps it is indeed too much "planning in advance" on your side. Right now, I am playing a FB scenario and shuffle around something like 4 US HMG teams with simple "move and deploy" orders. That seems to work well. They deploy in a reasonable time. More annoying is, that the HMG does not always deploy in the right spot. E.g., if they deploy in a long building, the HMG will set up behind the window with limited field of fire, while the helpers man the windows with a perfect view.
  8. Yeah, I still remember a scenario in a Steel Panthers campaign, when my Pz II's and III's encounterd a platoon of T34's for the first time. The only solution which I found, was to flee from the battlefield on turn 1.
  9. I am not quite sure what exactly you mean, but there should be a mod from Aris, improving explosion animation. Check out the mod section on the "The Few Good Men" website.
  10. I can't say, that experienced adjustments to avoid "crowded" areas, but the AI certainly adjusts to avoid obstacles. E.g., in a current scenario, I ordered a Jagdpanther to cross a bridge, which apparently was not suitable. The JP took a detour to cross the stream at a ford nearby. Strangley, the AI does not always try to avoid obstacles. I had it a few times, that the plotted path crossed the edge of a building. Result: The vehicles try to go through the building and get stuck in the building.
  11. Ah, I see. I did not yet watch it. Therefore my "confusion".
  12. Whoah! I just finished the book. Extremely recommendable, indeed. I am quite impressed. The best book of it's kind, which I read in a long time now. Makes one wonder, if we really should play CM. But seriously, playing war games since a very long time now, I always found it very important to be reminded of the downside.
  13. Snöff snöff snöff. ( Call it "sobbing and weeping") The REAL "Good ole' days" were with "Steel Panthers". That one really covered everything from WW 2 East, West, Africa, Pacific to Korea (not Vietnam), various Israel-Arab wars and modern 80's. Even some Falkland '82 battles had been portrayed. Plus, it was a pretty good game. For it's days, I mean.
  14. I have seen the odd smoke, too, but only in BN. In my case, smoke was replaced by explosion graphics. Looked odd, indeed, and fortunately went away after the first full turn under V4.0.
  15. Why not use the re-start to change over to CMx2? I am sure, you won't regret it!
  16. You mean, like the 2.3 Billion team would give a little? Hm, how come, I doubt that? ?
  17. Yesyes, "Rothaus Tannenzäpfle"! Check it out. Coming from northern Germany, it is somewhat embarrassing to say: But Tannenzäpfle is fantastic!
  18. Ufffff, most certainly not! My wife would kill me. And I could not even try to escape. ?
  19. Ey, come on... I am German and had my beer already.
  20. No issue. Just keep up the spirit and try to help the next.
  21. Yes, it includes all. I just reinstalled with the full installer some 10 days ago. However, you need to have the appropriate activation code for each module. In my case, I downloaded all in one go, but had to activate V4.0 (resp using the V3 code) first and then CW, MG, VP and the battle pack separately with the "old" code for each.
  22. Yeah, I started reading it as Kindle book today. Good reading, indeed. So far, it reminds to "The Martian", with all those very high IQ geeks. Let's see, if that lasts...
