  1. Yep, I know. I just wanted to see, if anybody still remembers "Bushisms", now that there is so much other stuff around. ?
  2. Yep, works again. ? Phewwww, knowing that you actually lost something makes you desperate. Sometimes not knowing is much better. Who said "There are known unknowns and unknown unknowns."?
  3. First of all: Good choice! I would be surprised, if the old version is still being sold. However, I would create a ticket and ask. The help desk is normally very responsive and will direct you to the right recipient, if necessary.
  4. Hm, I admit, I noted only through this post that the site down, but trying now I still get a "502 Bad Gateway" message. ?
  5. Did you try to play the Demos? They will give you a good impression what to expect. And ultimately, you will buy them all anyway...?
  6. I would love to have the uniforms in a uniform quality (Sorry, I simply had to put it this way. ?). I mean, in FI I am using Aris brilliant uniform mod for the Germans, but there is nothing comparable for the other nationalities. Which looks somewhat awkward on the screen.
  7. And he did it perfectly, says the proud first downloader. Thanks again!
  8. You are probably right. Considering what a little propaganda can do nowadays, why should it have been differently back then? Refereing to an ongoing sniper discussion in the "General Discussion" forum: I never liked "Enemy at the gates", because I never could believe in this sniper duel.
  9. Thanks, Cobetco. Now that I know what to look for, I'll ask my opponent to send some more P47 in. ?
  10. Yes, something like this was my idea. I wondered, if I should ask you directly, but then thought you would pick it up any way. ?
  11. Would I have to be locked on the firing AA, or is that a general message seen from all positions? And, a bit off topic, back then in the Steel Panthers days, I once had a shot down Me110 crashing onto the battlefield. THAT was a sight....
  12. I found it after a little research. Apparently it was used by the Czechoslovakian Airforce, before it came to the Swiss military surplus shop, which sold it now. https://www.flickr.com/photos/kecko/3162917447 And, how disappointing, it was sold without engine and weapons.
  13. Unfortunately it looks like we missed the chance: https://www.ricardo.ch/kaufen/sammeln-und-seltenes/raritaeten/schweiz/mig-21/v/an899356470/ Look at the price tag. It went for modest 9'000 Swiss Francs. But then, it was "used" already. ?
  14. Hope that's true for BN, too. In a current game, I have two 20mm AA on halftracks and my opponent obviously lot's if planes. The AA is blasting merrily away and it will be interesting to see, if they hit anything. BTW, is there a way to see any kills in the game? So far, I only noted Aircraft kills on the final results screen.
  15. There would the excellent uniform mod from Aris. If you care, PM me and I can put it in the Dropbox for you.
  16. Perhaps a look at the time frame helps: Breath in, breath out: 2secs Adjust target: 2 secs Pull trigger: 1 sec Bring back from recoil: 1 sec Leaves 1 sec for the unforeseen, like if your target dares to move.... Try it with a NERF gun in front of the mirror and substract the recoil second. ?
  17. Don't know, if I shall envy you, or pitty you for a hard childhood. ? Great pic's, indeed. Some, or a collage of them, would make nice RT splash screens.
  18. Yep, some titles were a little difficult to accept. Plus the selection is of course a very personal thing anyway. One can't really say " the best", only "my favourites". From your proposals, e.g., I loved "We were soldiers", but did not like the 2nd "Letters from Iwo Jima". I find "Apocalypse now - Redux" great, but did not like the original cinema version. Probably, I was too young for it back then.
  19. Yep, I have Zulu Dawn on DVD and never really liked it. Quite boring and it does not give a very clear picture of the Isandhlwana battle. But extensively portrays the "Quartermaster Bloomfield story", which I find hard to believe.
  20. I personally never managed. But, indeed, I remember that my army trainers were not all that happy with my rate of fire. I sort of "grew up" in sport shooting clubs, shooting air gun and small bore rifle, where you have 90 minutes for 60 shot. Precision was the key, not speed.
  21. I doubt that. If you pump out 9 bullets in 60 sec's, there is not much aiming. More like pointing the muzzle in the right direction and pulling the trigger, as fast as you can.
  22. Yeah, I once had a Puma crew taking out a complete squad from, say, 7m distance. The 9 bullets per pistol don't last long, but can put out tremendous firepower for a minute.
