Yeah, there is certainly some room for improvement in the artwork. I noted, that the half timbered houses do not look very German. In the Fulda area, I would expect either a full timber frame or none. In the Fulda area a black frame with white fillings, further north a black frame with reddish-brown brick filling. But not too many of such houses anyway. Most have been bombed to ruins sometime earlier anyway.

Pre-orders for Combat Mission Cold War are now open.

Hm, the description says "centered around the Fulda Gap". That's far south of the Luneburger Heide. And snow? It hardly snows in the Lueneburger Heide (Ok, THIS years winter is different....) Assuming the game is set in summer times, there is little hope of snow. IIRC, back then in the 80's, the Warsaw Pact planned to be in Antwerp in four days or so. But let's hope for the modders! -

Ouch, that would hurt everybody living near Fulda... The main difference: The landscape near Berlin and towards the east is pretty flat, around Fulda it is pretty hilly. That's why the Fulda Gap was the most likely approach way... In terms of vegetation: Around Berlin the soil is quite sandy, so you would mostly see open woods with birch trees. They don't have that near Fulda. But I agree, if you see it from a distance, it may look not too different. -

Nope, this would be something like 200km to the west of Berlin. More the the „next“ FB module, after Huertgenwald and Aachen. -

Hm, I haven‘t seen her in the games in 20 years CM gamlng now. Probably a surprise appearance in F&R... -

Get in touch with the customer support. It looks like you are missing some files. I had a similar „black item“ only recently. -
Custer's Stand Scenario

And quite premature, indeed. IIRC, things were still quite even, when he dropped out. -
Custer's Stand Scenario

It comes with the game and is, indeed, pretty good. I played it a while ago against a newby and like it quite much. Large map, small forces, plenty of approaches for the Germans. Unfortunately, my oppo dropped out, before things would become really hot. -
Yeah, this may give some important insights:

Soviet tankers bailing too soon.
StieliAlpha replied to Commanderski's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Yep, from reading the account, I had the impression that it is more a translation issue. Probably the writer of the original account was not a technically expert, but tried to use technical terms and than the text was translated to English by another „non-expert“. Such texts usually need some „creative interpretation“ to decipher them. I see those things almost daily, when clients try to describe what their problem is. -

Thanks for mentioning that. Your previous query reminds me too: Quite a long time ago, say 2 or 3 years, I have seen a „complete“ list of CMBN scenarios and campaigns here in the forum. Very nicely done, even with download links. Probably, it is meanwhile outdated in terms of new content, but I guess the harder to find old stuff is more interesting for you anyway. Right now, I can‘t remember who made the list, but I may be able to find the thread.

Features Requests/Corrections
StieliAlpha replied to RMM's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Well, it is more of a feeling, since I obviously have no numbers, but I still think the TC impact is not big. My tanks mostly travel with closed hatches and when I order them open up, the Pixeltruppen usually close the hatches quickly. In any case, I don’t see much of a difference. Did anybody ever check that in a test set-up? In a normal game situation with loads of contributing factors, it is in anyway hard to tell which factor is governing. -
Features Requests/Corrections

Interesting, I found the loss of a TC in CM1 quite devastating (and tried to „hunt“ them with snipers), but I don‘t find a TC loss in CM2 too important. -
Any one remember this?
StieliAlpha replied to Bubba883XL's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
@Bubba883XL Try here: https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/desert-commander-nes Looks like they have the whole sound track for the game (and many other treasure from the past). -
Reading your history, I‘d say BN. Only BN, in a bundle or all content depends on how much you want to spent. Though the big bundle certainly is a good deal. And as @Vacilllator says, trying the demos first is highly recommend. I am not quite sure, to which version they have been updated, but I think that does not really matter for a start. You‘ll get a good impression anyway. Just don‘t be disappointed by the graphics of the demos. That can be fixed with mods in the full games.

So you are saying: The leader, supported by scouting units, should be in a location, from which he has an overview of the operational area and which is close enough to the subordinate units, to control and direct them. Ah, ja. That‘s a new concept.

Just for the fun another one.
