Saferight got a reaction from Fizou in Please NO Marines or NATO forces module !
Poles are a MUST in my eyes. They just have a really cool mix of kit and they would fit into the storyline nicely.

Saferight got a reaction from JM Stuff in Modding Small Arms
So i decided to try modding some of the Russian/Ukrainian firearms, not going to call it a mod just yet because i can't guarantee ill get far with this one (like most of my others ) but so far i like the results...
Here is the older AK-74, RPK-74, and AKS-74u which all share the same textures. Deep red Russian laminate stock and polymer mag but thats what i like...
Still have to do the folding stock and figure out how exactly the brake on the "Krink" is textured...
I also have done a new makarov but have yet to find it in the game . Keep you guys posted on any more progress

Saferight reacted to Kieme(ITA) in Kieme's modding corner
Kieme CMBS T-72B3
This mod starts with BTR 's research and conversion of russian vehicles into a realistic green color, so all credits shall go to him as the author of the original texture, which is in my opinion a great digital version of the original modern russian green, therefore special thanks to him and his work.
the original thread is found here:
http://community.battlefront.com/topic/117857-testing/
I have desaturated and slightly brightened the green color and added layers of dust, dirt, rainmarks, scratches, details etc. and enhanced the normal maps a bit.

Preview:
Weathering all green vehicles is never easy, I still have to narrow down the precise techniques to use, so if you have any suggestion please add them as you feel to.

Saferight reacted to Vinnart in Vin's mods - Animated Text, Geometric Icons, Easy vis UI, Bases
Vin Easy Visibility UI
I set this up with each part being in its own separate folder to make it easy to use all, or whatever parts you like, and to make it easy to combine parts with other UI mods to make your own custom UI. To combine parts with other UI mods just add a few "Zs" to the beginning of a folders name.
FEATURES:
COLOR BAR MODIFIERS: Changes +1 and -1 to one green or red easy to see bar. Changes +2 and -2 to two easy to see green or red bars.
RIGHT FACING PORTRAITS: Better orientates the visual composition of the UI so the facing of the portraits leads your eye toward the information rather than away from it
.
CALL SIGN SOLDIER NAMES: Changes hard to pronounce, or remember names to catchier call sign, nick names, and some historical names. Of course there are some Vin, Vinman, Vinnie Baga Donuts in there, but at the very least it gives you easy access to the file to put whatever names you like. HINT if you want to make changes to the name files make a copy, change, test first in case you erase a >.
CLASSIC C2 FULL COLOR/DETAIL ICONS: Changes to classics from CMSF.
RIGHT FACING WEAPON SILHOUETTES: Flips them to better accommodate text.
COMMAND GROUP SELECTOR: Changes to clearer, easy to see red border when selected.
EASY VIS COMMAND BUTTONS: Changes to use corresponding colored border when selected to make it easier to see what is selected. Especially useful for seeing Open, Hiding, Deploy Weapon.

Vin Geometric CMBS Unit Icons:
Changes unit icons to unique geometric shapes for unit categories to better differentiate between types, and to make icons smaller.
Uses different color icons for spotted and FOW to make spotted icons pop out.
Uses different colors for fortifications to make them easier to tell from spotted icons during set up phase.
The FOW, and fortifications icons can be used with the stock icons, or other icon mods if desired by adding a few "Z"s to the folder name.

Vin's Animated Text- CMBS v1
First, special thanks to Marco for updating the mod concept's graphics to better reflect modern warfare. The preview pic shows the light version which keeps the word "spotting" as a filter that can be ignored allowing the more important icons to stand out. The heavy version replaces the word "spotting" with the symbol of an eye. Both versions replace the word "casualty" with a "red cross" in the weapons panel.
Enjoy!
*BONUS*
Right Facing Weapons Silhouettes like in preview pic.
Flips the weapons as shown in the pic to better accommodate the text so it does not cover the weapon graphic.
Now included in "Easy Vis UI" mod on next page.
EDIT: I deleted the files in this post as they are now outdated. Look further in the thread to find version 1.03 compatible download

Saferight reacted to Rambler in [Released] Rambler's CMBS Trees & Hedge
Ported, overhauled and added to, here is my CMBN tree mod tailored for CMBS. Thins out the leaves and sharpens the bark for a more natural look. All files are non brzed, so you can keep what you like and delete what you don't. In addition to the trees and hedge being reworked, I've also included three tweaked ground textures designed to go with this mod (grass, yellow grass and grain). I didn't care for the default grass texture, so I took the one from BN and edited it to fit the aesthetic of BS. The grass texture and distant ground texture are the same lending to a more seamless appearance between map and world box. Up at cmmods for immediate download (since it's probably compatible with RT too), and I'll put it up on the repository when I get around to it: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5473/details
Now for some pics:
Piney forests:
Color tones between the different trees:
Tweaked ground textures:
Enjoy.

Saferight reacted to Blimey in Separatist mod
Kras
Okay. After some experimentation, renaming and juggling of the shared textures to get the right balance.
Separatists can slot into the UKR digital uniform slot (in the editor).
Conventional forces can then fill the UKR standard uniform slot (in the editor).
Also via the editor you can add in Russian forces to fight alongside the 'red' Ukrainian force.
You start with a Blue on Blue force pool. Buy your two forces. 1 UKR standard (Blue) 1 UKR Digital (the 2nd Blue force which will be considered the Red force in battle). Deploy. Then change the battle option in the editor to Blue on Red. Pick your Russians. Deploy. They show up alongside your Red UKR force.
Sounds files - you can unpack and mix those up in a mod yourself, although if you have Russians fighting closely alongside the 'red' UKR force I expect you'll get a mix of voices anyway.
Separatist - more diverse appearance. More bare heads.
Standard UKR - More uniform appearance. Fewer bare heads.
Russians and 'red' UKR forces deployed together
