JM Stuff reacted to puje in Ukranian uniforms inspired by real life
    Features:
6 individual digital, and 6 individual regular Ukrainian uniforms. Digital uniforms have blue armbands and are primarily based around multicam og Ukr digital, but are ragtag like you’d see in real life.
Regular uniforms are less modern looking, and primarily based around green colors. They have yellow armbands.
4 modded US uniforms to recreate Foreign Legion fighters. They are mostly like standard US uniforms, but have new patches, and blue armbands.

All yours snow, mods are a nice approach, and will be useful in CMFB new module with the  Brits, hopefully all vehicles  will be added from BFC.

I'm hoping to find enough time soon to start a CMFB series on Patton's Lorraine battles. I have all the topo and research from producing Command OP's (as yet to be released) "Bradley at Bay" scenarios but I just need the time and inclination to start in. I'm surprised there are only a smattering of battles from this campaign available for CM.

It is a good way of testing how secure a Hull-Down position is. I give this vehicle three turns at the most then they go tip toe through the tulips in the sky. Better hide the vehicle and dismount to observe.

another scouting (with vehicles) tactic I´m using is fast move between observation points, preferably from then hull down position. If possible furtherly refining to turret down so that just the commander peeks over the crest. For more "secrecy" one can also fast move from point to point in full cover, then disembark. The crew then does the recon similar to infantry at very short distance. It´s not without risks, but if you just want to observe, not draw fire, it´s very effective. Another RL tactics as taught for german WW2 motor recon troops (and tank units in same role).

LOF - Line of Fire: affected by FO

    Very interesting Steve.
So in this way I asking something, I know that the wrecks in the way that I am doing don't reflect the reallity, so what kind of FO's can be used to represent a wreck vehicle, but having "approximatively", the properties similar as a real damaged or burned vehicle already in CM?
    I hope is understanding enough.
Thanks in advance to all infos.
    Cheers

Thank you Steve to take the time to answer.
I know having différents views from damaged or burned vehicles are not very useful in the game and they are only "candy", but can we perhaps see in the future, a way that we have différents views, on burned or damaged vehicles, the tracks for exemple when is also only a BMP file, this will not take too much change in the code I guess ?
I don't know exactly the system that you are using, I guess is the same system like the dead soldiers, that we never see nowhere a BMP file that we can eventual replace, but I think this will be interresting.
Of course for the "pure" tactical gamers this will be a drop in the ocean, and not important, but, I think, a little more details, will be welcome !
Thank you in advance to your answer

JM Stuff reacted to Paper Tiger in Revising The Road to Montebourg campaign
To catch up, I've imported and placed the core units in all the phase 1 and 3 missions and am now preparing to import them into the phase 2 missions (From Hell to Le Ham). These are more tricky because there are German core units in all these missions so I have left these until last. I should have the German core units done by tonight and have them imported tomorrow which means testing and AI plans can begin in earnest this weekend. And do I have some new ideas...
I have to admit, I really like what I can do with AI triggers. They were just making an appearance when I last played the game and I was initially disappointed that they didn't 'branch'. But I can see how useful they can be in some of the AI reworks I've done for my CMSF2 campaign already.
Once I've redone the AI plans, I'll create the variants and then will compile a new revised Montebourg for the scenario depot. They're not all getting extensive AI reworks, just the ones which I feel would benefit most from some extra attention, like Turnbull's Stand for example which has an AI attack.

But you don't know also the "calimucho" or callimucho certain said Kalimucho sorry and Kalimotxo also ,! This is in the North of Spain. And I did not hear  that from Wikipedia 😉.
Also very fresh and good taste, and easy to do yourself, depend only what you are mixed with, I could invite you on Wiki, but? ....you will do it automatically
Edit and we are staying in the good thread with this flavour savour... 😝

flavor objects provide cover and infantry interact with them. Depends on what type they are. Infantry will crouch behind stone fountains and shoot from there

Hold fire command button, and open fire (although Clear Target is basically that) setting an ambush with sectors of fire being very short is a hassle - a simple hold fire would be much easier.
Minefield instead of a single mine. As a way to place the mines, could be a 50m long box with mines inside it at some density to match doctrine. Perhaps even with frat fences built in. Would make defense much easier to set up.
Hescoe barrier walls, T walls, concertina wire in modern games.
Squads and Fireteam moving in formations rather than gaggling everywhere. Would need some commands for file, wedge, vee, online.
Set a sector of fire or targeting *at* a waypoint that doesn't take effect until you reach the waypoint.
Instead of having to always select the highest BN level formation and back off from there- build up from a smaller unit. You can already add single vehicles and small teams into a formation - if there was a command to add a HQ level (which ties into the chain of command flow) we would be able to build up a task org/ORBAT
Or, perhaps have an option for what level of formation to show. So instead of BN level, click a button for CO and only see the company type formations.
Resupply vehicles. Make acquire something that can happen automatically at a resupply vehicle/unit. Move a unit there and soldiers will reload up to max combat load without having to go through the acquire command.
Medical ambulances. An ability for any unit to move wounded (to a casualty collection point) then have ambulances that can pick them up, and if they make an exit point the wounded have much higher chance of not dieing.
Wreckers- allow recovery of vehicles. If evaced out to a exit point (or hooked up at mission end) the vehicle can be repaired for next mission in a campaign.(less important than medics given the shorter timeframe of the battles)
Terrain objective that is the opposite of occupy. Gain points for making sure enemy never reaches it
If this then that branching in AI plans!!!
Export the elevations from the map as a greyscale bmp or some other elevation matrix file
Export the map as an image file- without us having to take screenshots
In scenario editor- be able to edit text right there instead of export, open in another editor, save, re import. For the one line text- like scenario title - be able to move cursor around without backspacing and deleting them retyping.
For Deploy in the scenario editor- a way to save/set the camera start position instead of just being the last position when the deploy was ended. This would help with going back in and making edits without having to go back and make sure camera was moved back to desired start position every time you make a tweak or check something.
Clean up the AI plans and what happens "in" a step. Could probably move some things to be clearer what is set at start of step (perhaps move to prior step for entry) and what happens at end of step.
Know how we can combine teams back into squads - what about something like that for platoon, or even company level?? But not like the squad combine that actually makes them group together- more just a UI thing. Default now is that icons are shown at "squad" (and team/crew) level. If we bump it up to platoon level then one icon would be shown over the center of each platoon, and clicking it selects the whole platoon (like double click the HQ) so you can easily give commands to the whole unit. Maybe even bump up a level for Company icons. Just a way to declutter the UI and early in a battle when moving whole platoons around it could ease things. Simple button/keypress to move the display level up and down the chain of command.

Just a little thing today !
you have the possibility to open your favorite CM game by clicking on a scenario, to do this, point a scenario somewhere on the game launch file, in the command "open with" but do not check the box "always open with " your game will launch but you will have to resume the scenario in the choose list.
This is not exceptional because it is only a link to a file, some like that already exists for other files or your pc, but it can be useful if you are working on a scenario or campaign and not always returning to your main game directory, it's just a time saver, another trick could be simply to creating a shortcut Cm Normandy, Fortress Italy... (.exe) in your scen camp directory.
    Cheers
