Campaign Not Showing???
A Canadian Cat replied to ZackTactical34's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
We've seen the wrong graphics and the wrong text in the running game's UI, yes. I don't recall those particular buttons being screwy before. In all those cases it was an install problem - caused either by not installing things in the correct order (not common any more now that we have all in one installers) or installs being run from folders that were not unzipped properly. -

Sounds like an install problem. You could run the install again. Make sure the install is unzipped into a new empty folder before running it. If that, or any other suggestions you might get from here, don't work I recommend contacting BFC support. -
Battlefront.com account closed for security reasons?
A Canadian Cat replied to rocketman's topic in General Discussion Forum
I have not seen that - and I checked my spam folder too. -
Sounds like you have an install or mod problem. As for sound issues there are some known sound driver issues. Your best course of action is to contact BFC support. They can help you work through the sound and graphics problems. You can start by moving the mods you do have and see if that fixes the button icons etc

Update on Engine 4 patches
A Canadian Cat replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
LOL neither situation is good. If you are putting out two patches a month you are not spending your time creating new features or content. Especially on a small team. Extended delays are not good for customer morale though. Finding a middle path is they way to go. -
Pass thanks. IMHO I don't think the CM general forum has much non CM related stuff in it. I am happy that the topics in the top-level General forum can be mostly ignored. Keeps some of the utterly pointless posts out of the CM forums.

Separatist push/Ukraine shove back
A Canadian Cat replied to Kinophile's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Again some perspectives are BS and or intentionally engineered as an excuse. NATO expansion was driven by the requests of the added countries. Why, because from thier perspective Russia was a dangerous neighbour that was acting against them. I don't think it matters at all if the aggressor cooks up some whoa is me sob story - from thier perspective. -
Separatist push/Ukraine shove back
A Canadian Cat replied to Kinophile's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Yeah but is it though? Feels more like an excuse to accomplish other goals. Not all opinions are equal, not all perspectives are equally valid. Facts actually still do matter and dismissing them and covering them up with your own "perspective" is not something that we should just be letting go. From my perspective that car you don't use every day sitting in your drive way is a waste of resources. I need a car more more often than you so from my perspective it is OK for me to just take it whenever I want it. Its all a matter of perspectives, I guess -
Separatist push/Ukraine shove back
A Canadian Cat replied to Kinophile's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
It is. And invading to prevent the self determination of your neighbours, which is what is really going on, is bad too. -

A Canadian Cat replied to Kinophile's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Sorry - what? More evidence that the Russian army is operating inside Ukrainian territory (otherwise known as an invasion) has been found. Your response to that is to accuse a body that is monitoring those actions as being biased. Your assertion would be funny if the whole situation wasn't so tragic. -
Well it's definitely not a bug. One of the choices is random. That can lead to blue on blue. That could be a possible enhancement. Quite frankly I'd be shocked if that was something that Steve felt was important enough to actually do.

LOL it is not obvious. Use a second one and place it near and the first will snap to it. After some experimentation you will see how to get the shapes you want. After some frustrating moments and possibly some swearing and you too will be an expert. -

Indeed. Are your graphics drivers up to date? Is the 7 key stuck / sticky on your key board? -
Haven't Seen this For Artillery Before
A Canadian Cat replied to CanuckGamer's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Actually the scenario designer *can* get the AI defender to bombard the attacker's setup zones. It's just not a good design decision And yes the human defender can bombard the AI's setup zone. That is just not much fun. -
Oh good point - cease firing early could lead to victory that feels a bit off. Designers can make that less appealing but I'm not sure if it is big design problem since by doing that you are limiting your game experience and your enjoyment.

Just a minor clarification - if your opponent surrenders you are awarded all occupy objectives and any forces that surrender count towards any destroy unit objectives that you have. As @MOS:96B2P said. It does not give you threshold objectives - unless you satisfy them of course. It does not take any points away from what your opponent earned for their destroy unit objectives, thresholds or bounuses.
