  1. Found some stuff for the current Canadian Forces. This is based on current day but I think the overall applied to 2008. The home bases are organized into 2-5 division (none of which are truly divisional is size but they are " force generating divisions based on geography". I see lots of mention of changes to how the reserves reported to all this but I think the regular force was pretty much the same back then. Hopefully I'm right about that. Looks like this (lots of things I am sure you don't care about left out): 2 Div (Quebec), 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG): 5e Régiment d'artillerie légère du Canada/5 CMBG/2 Div Artillery 12e Régiment blindé du Canada/5 CMBG/2 Div Armoured 5 Combat Engineer Regiment/5 CMBG/2 Div Combat engineer 1st Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment/5 CMBG/2 Div Mechanized Infantry 2nd Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment/5 CMBG/2 Div Mechanized Infantry 3rd Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment /5 CMBG/2 Div Light infantry 3 Div (Western), 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (1 CMBG): 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery/1 CMBG/3 Div Artillery Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians)/1 CMBG/3 Div Armoured 1 Combat Engineer Regiment/1 CMBG/3 Div Combat engineers 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry/1 CMBG/3 Div Mechanized infantry 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry/1 CMBG/3 Div Mechanized infantry 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry/1 CMBG/3 Div Light infantry 4 Div (Ontario), 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2 CMBG): 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery/2 CMBG/4 Div Artillery The Royal Canadian Dragoons/2 CMBG/4 Div Armoured 2 Combat Engineer Regiment/2 CMBG/4 Div Combat engineers 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment/2 CMBG/4 Div Mechanized infantry 2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment*/2 CMBG/4 Div Mechanized infantry 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment/2 CMBG/4 Div Light infantry 5 Div (Atlantic): 4th Artillery Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery/5 CDSB/5 Div Air Defence 4 Engineer Support Regiment/5 CDSB/5 Div Engineers (note: 2 RCR and C Squadron of the Dragoons are actually stationed in the Atlantic provinces but they report the 2 CMBG Some notes: As you can see there really are only three active brigade groups which is about really just one division. They are split this way because each of those areas contains multiple reserve battalions of various types (not shown) which under full mobilization would be able to form something like four divisions three of which could have a regular force brigade in it already. I say could because really the CF mixes and matches forces as needed. A battle group that gets sent somewhere could have Mech infantry from one or two brigade group(s) and armour from another etc. For fun: If you feel so inclined my father started his military career in the Black watch which was changed to a reserve unit (he moved to the RCR after that) if you wanted to do an extra one just for me you could add this one: The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada/34 CBG/2 Div Light infantry
  2. Date added to the scenario depot is 2016 (part of @Bootie's migration) and this http://www.combatmission.lesliesoftware.com/ShockForce/Scenarios/Mission 3A Forging Steel_v7.html Shows they were created with a CMSF1.x version.
  3. Nice one. Hey, if people can believe that Elvis is still alive then its possible this guy is too.
  4. I have saves from the OP. I just have not had time to look at them. Still might not get to them today. Are their others with similar happenings? If so PM me and we can arrange to get files...
  5. That means you missed a step (patch or upgrade). I would recommend just downloading the all in one install for CMBS that way you don't need to worry about getting muli steps correct and just do one.
  6. Well if you had a working fortress Italy then just installing the patch should have been painless. If you are stuck now then starting over with a single installer could be helpful. My main point is if you are doing a fresh install never do the six steps of content installs. Those days are over. Your licensing issues will not be resolved by this though. For that you need the pros. My recommendation is follow the instructions you get from support.
  7. You don't. Every game now has a full installer so no steps. You can download it from your order in the order list. But if you have a working game then applying the patch is just one easy step. You should never need to activate the license for a patch so I have no idea why that happened but support will get you sorted I am sure.
  8. Yeah that's not right Probably because his side should not be shooting at him - see above - and friendly bullets cause no harm - see blow Also not right. Do you have a saved game of this?
  9. The BRZ files do not contain behavior as far as I know. Just resources. The tac AI is in the .exe @Howler can you share that saved file?
  10. No once you have picked your base platoon you can add what every like - attach stuff or pickup another unit. It's just a stipulation that you have at least a real world unit to start with.
  11. METT-T: Mission The mission is straight forward: keep my starting point secure, secure the bridge and if possible take Bil's starting point. Objectives: The bridge – This is a modified meeting engagement but this is the undefended objective that we both need to take. Red setup – My starting point and the twist in this battle – we both have out own objective to hold while at the same time take the bridge. Blue setup – Bil's starting point. Tasks: Use cover to get to the bridge first. I bought recon BRDMs specifically to get there fast. I have routes to move that are behind terrain cover most of the way. Deny the approach. The Red setup objective appears to have a view (KT7) of the both AA2 and AA3 that Bil might use to get to the bridge. Probe to see how well Blue setup is protected. I can advance towards the farm (KT3) with support from units on the high ground or hull down behind ridge at KT6 METT-T: Terrain We took the map from “Tactical Vignette 99-2 The Passage at Wilcox” desighed by George McEwan <http://www.combatmission.lesliesoftware.com/ShockForce/Scenarios/Tactical%20Vignette%2099-2%20The%20Passage%20at%20Wilcox%20SF2.html>. We kept just the rural part for this meeting engagement. To make this more interesting than a race to the central objective like the typical ME we added objectives at each of out starting points too. The idea being it will create decisions and stop this from becoming nothing more than a mad rush. Here is the map with the avenues of approach Bil could use. I labelled the same locations with the same KT numbers that Bil used – that should help keep things straight. METT-T: Enemy Enemy Intentions Take the bridge and hold their own start point. Possible Order of Battle I looked back at our correspondence to find out how we set the conditions on forces: Further clarification that in this context “no mods” means taking the base as is – no deleting AT teams or XO / HQ support teams. Enemy Course of Action I expect that the enemy will likely move to protect the starting point objective and also move to take the bridge objective. I expect some movement on AA1 probably to take the farm. Between the farm and the trees near the Blue objective that will be a good start to protect the Blue Objective. Some other force will likely take AA2 or AA3 to take the bridge. It is more difficult for the Blue side to interdict my movement so I don't expect that. This is Bil so I know the leader ship will be good but you never know how aggressive or not he might be. METT-T: Troops See earlier post METT-T: Time We set a hour for this battle but both agreed we would negotiate an end at a reasonable time before that if needed. Neither one of use *needs* to fight to the last man.
  12. That is a demo charge. They can be "thrown" against bunkers and armoured vehicles. Don't worry they are not really just thrown it is just the game abstraction for the team getting close to the target and placing them in a appropriate spot to destroy the enemy vehicle or structure.
  13. Ack that article says to email sales @ don't do that for goodness sake . com. You might want to change those instructions to something about contacting support via the new ticket button.
  14. Assuming Windows. Assuming you have File Explorer open to the location where the patch file resides. 1) Extract the patch .rar or .zip file to a new empty folder (select Unpack to "<foldername>", or create your own empty folder and unpack into that) 2) Navigate to that folder (you are in File Explorer and you just created a new folder at the location you are displaying, double click on it to "navigate" into that folder) 3) Double click on the setup program that is in that new folder. Follow the instructions in the dialog boxes that will appear
  15. At some time (might even be now - not sure) the all in one installer will be updated to CMFB 2.01 then you can download that installer and install the game fully patched from nothing right away. At the time the patches were announced the all in one installer was still at v2.00 which would have saved you one step.
  16. Yeah but you have to make sure that it goes into its own folder empty. If it dumps the contents along side the zip file or other patch zip files things have a high chance of going poorly.
  17. Sweet. Was there a problem pre-patch? Quick note <shift><ESC> pauses the game without the "Pause" message on screen. After you do it once it remembers when you hit the || button in the UI. Yes, I know in my last screen shots I forgot. It was late and I didn't want to redo them...
  18. You do not have to extract it to any game directories. Here is what you do: 1) Extract the patch .rar or .zip file to a new empty folder 2) Navigate to that folder and run the setup program 3) Let the install program do the work for you - just double check the install location - it tries to guess but if you used a non default location it can get this wrong. You want to point the installer to the folder where the game .exe files is located.
  19. Nice @Mord that is really interesting. I think your avatar has had too much work done on it already. Graphic artists like plastic surgeons can only do so much.
  20. Good idea. I was thinking that the fact that you are using movie mode and your pastel icons while I am using normal mode and my bright icons was a good thing but different text is a good idea too.
  21. Joy. I have all my CM games installed under a single top level directory and I added that to my white list for av. No more problems with av and I don't have to remember when I install a new game.
  22. Yikes, I already violated the rules. I am pretty sure I did not mention this to @Bil Hardenberger at the time because I honestly did not think about it - aka I forgot that rule. I realized what I had done when I read Bil's first post and then watched my first turn again. So I am not off a great start and I need to say sorry Bil - it won't happen again, at least this game.
  23. I am just highlighting this. Something I try to remember when I play a QB is name the top commander with my name. That way I can see if I survive the battle.
