  1. I agree - I would like to see the Canadians in the game.
  2. Well BFC are always working on allowing for bigger maps and faster load times and better performance. I remember reading something Steve wrote about how they could not quite get the maps size to where they wanted due to other constraints - wish I could find that for ya. Oh look at that - I took one more try before posting and thank you google site:battlefront.com https://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=113375
  3. Oh yes, A Temple to Mars takes place in a full on blizzard. Tough scenario too. I have not played any campaigns but and I do not know the counts but there are definitely more then one scenario that is based in the winter. I think you need Gustov Line to extend the time table to include winter - check on that to be sure.
  4. It just so happens I have both versions installed. I was able to get bigger maps to work. With 1.12 I was only able to get 4000 x 4000. No matter the NS size the EW size would not exceed 4K. With 1.2 I was able to get 4200 x 4300 or there abouts. But if I reduced the width to 2900m then I was able to get the NS size to 6K. I do not know what the exact rules are but there you go you can get some different shapes and bigger maps
  5. Yes, that is the correct version number (1.2 I mean). Hummm not sure about map size. There is nothing you should need to do. Don't for get the map size controls are a little odd in that the initial map is the centre of a virtual map and it can only ever be the centre. By that I mean you can expend the map to the East as far as it can go and then shrink from the West but you still will not be able to expend more to the East. So to get max size you need to + in both directions. I am not sure if that will help or not. I have never tried to max out the map size.
  6. LOL I'll try not to be a hater +1 without PBEM I would likely be out or at least vastly reduced I can only stand so much play against the AI. Even though I have little interest in RT play I wish all those that play that way the very best and I do hope the can find the opponents that they want.
  7. Yes, it is the connection that matters. I did not mean to imply otherwise. Sorry for the confusion. I guess I think of drives installed as inside the computer case to be connected via the fastest way possible for your computer. That is not totally correct but you would have to work harder to connect an internal drive up a slow way.
  8. I get that's what they said too Having said that my dad has given me good advice on how to play this game.
  9. The determining factor is not which drive the game / data resides on but how fast the drive is and how fast the connection is. So a second fast drive that is in the case and connected directly to the HD controller will be just as fast as the drive where the OS is - if the two drives are similar. Drives outside the case tend to be connected by a slower connections (like USB). You can connect drives outside the case with fast connections but that takes a bit of planning and making sure you have the right ports, cases etc. Moving to an SSD drive is a nice way to go. I no longer have to go get a coffee while I wait to load up even the biggest turns.
  10. Yeah well that is not BFC's intention but as you note it feels like that doesn't it. That is the problem with a DRM system - it gets in the way and causes friction for legitimate customers while providing...
  11. Go for it. Lots of people have done it. It worked flawlessly my first try. I did pretty much described above but I did not get fussy about not launching the game at what ever point I wanted. I do not think it hurts to start the game. I say go for it knowing that the support team will be there for you if something goes sideways. I have no idea what happened with Michael Emrys but lots and lots of us have had no trouble at all.
  12. Well they never give a release date - until they release it:D But I have been making predictions on the release date. I predict that the release date will be between Dec 16th and Jan 4th Please note that even though I have been doing some testing for Black Sea do not think this came from any privileged information this is just arithmetic and statistics that is all: For those that want to play with my calculations you can check out the spread sheet. http://www.lesliesoftware.com/forforumposts/2014/CMReleaseDatesBlackSea.xlsx
  13. Yuck. You were able to reproduce this? I have not tried with infantry but I just has some AFVs in CMRT do this fine. They fired at their target while paused and the then moved as ordered after the pause ran out.
  14. We do not have full clarity on this point. However many of us do suspect it matters and keep your guys from getting to tired. On the other hand many others think it does not matter and freely run their guys ragged. Does that clear that up:D
  15. I cannot wait to open up that present.
  16. My main use of move (other than withdrawing tank crews that have a long way to go) is with teams that need to keep moving but are already tired. I try to avoid Fatigued and Exhausted so when a team gets to Tired but they have to keep going I switch them to move. Obviously some situations warrant running at all costs - I'm just talking about SOP.
  17. Long range surveillance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Range_Surveillance
  18. I wonder if you will get a call from Adidas. Or did they pay you for that product placement.
  19. Hear hear. Thank goodness for people like @Erwin then. Sorry I'm not contributing to your testing - I am over spent testing other stuff but I would certainly encourage others to try some testing. It is fun because you get to see new stuff and you get some influence on the direction. I too would have liked to have seen some scenarios included in the pack but think Steve made his case in another thread that there will be more scenarios faster if they got the pack out rather than wait to release it with some. I see validity in the arguments for either choice. Everyone volunteer for testing the next time someone asks - you will not regret it.
  20. Welcome - hope you have enough for food for the rest of the week:-) I see you have several answers to your first questions - one more thought for must have mods are Vin's animated text mod. If I had to pic one that would be my one. That should not be a problem here. Here are some threads that discuss this (there are several options that are popular here): http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1319442 http://ftp2.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1323037 https://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=115155 http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1528906 This should get you started with the US anyway. Humm that might now be what you wanted for CMRT but hey it is what I got. Hopefully someone else will chime in with more.
  21. Great to see you modding again. Glad you hare having fun cause so will we:)
