That is when you breath less than usual when you are waiting for something. It is a good substitution for when holding you breath might cause you to die -

For the Soviets form members posted helpful link so here are links to their posts: Terkin posted the link to the Soviet manul as PDF here: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1500868&postcount=11 And Regiment0 did some translation here: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1508588&postcount=20 The translated part starts on page 11 of the document - which is page 7 of the PDF match up the "1. Headquarters", "2. Marching and guarding forces?" with the numbered titles starting there. -

Sure. The US is from the FM21-30 (see section 9 page 33) which can be found here: http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/ref/FM/ There are a few other sites here are two that I used: http://www.history.army.mil/books/wwii/11-4/symbols.htm and http://www.alternatewars.com/BBOW/NATO_Symbols/FM-21-30_Symbology.htm -
LOL yeah but we have multiple general wish list threads going. Someone started this one specific to the battle pack and it stuck to that topic for a dozen posts and then went into lala land. Which is fine. I am sure BFC loves hearing all our wishes. I was kind of hoping this thread might stay on a more narrow focus and leave the lala land requests for the other pie in the sky threads. But what can you do everyone has their own idea of what to do.

Combat Mission Commander (Campaign Tool)

I did set set of icon mods for CM games: Soviet and German - for CMRT: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5153/details US and German for CMBN: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5164/details Feel free to use them as a basis for a set if icons for your op game. If your game stays free then some small amount of credit would be all I would ask for. -

And of course as any campaign is made up of several scenarios there is also this tutorial on how to create scenarios which is a sticky thread at the top of this form: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=110294

Or it could mean that he is so busy that he did not notice this thread until a tester begged someone allowed to speak for the company to say something. It was not me though thank [redacted] This is the closest I could find http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/1995-02-17/ Or take one, or should I say two, steps further http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2007-11-09/ And just for laughs - on topic because Steve could just stop and go leave near a beach some where. http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/1994-07-04/

How many games can simulate this turn of events?
A Canadian Cat replied to rocketman's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
What game are you playing? Sounds more like dominoes than combat mission. I have seen the guy about to throw getting hit and causing friendly casualties a number of times now but not two in a row - very cool. -
I might regret this but.... OK so not telling everyone that tank riding would not be in the CMBN and CMFI upgrades until after they were out was not BFC's finest hour. I agree. I was expecting it too. But, as you say, I can understand it now that it has been explained. I though it was kind of crappy that everyone had the expectation and then they got surprised. But flame throwers were never in and they were clear about that. Upgrades are for engine features and modules and packs are for content. So we do know that support for flame throwers is in - cause stuff (buildings and ground cover) smolders when it gets blasted. I am sure there will be some content coming at some point that will have flame throwers in it - but you will have to pay for it so get that check book ready Seriously. Well you paid for it back then BTW and you can get it included in CMRT right now just like the good old days (by *paying* for it when you buy CMRT). The only difference is that now you can get the improvements in the older games too. Remember in the good old days CMBO was just what it was and never changed once CMAK or CMBB came out.

Rotate Camera Around Object
A Canadian Cat replied to Col Deadmarsh's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I do the same with my keyboard by pressing forward and left (or right) at the same time. By lifting and repressing your fingers you can control the size of the circle the camera goes in. -
Help with Strategy / Tactics
A Canadian Cat replied to Zzenith's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
All good advice - also don't for get that your FO team does *not* have to be observing for the entire call just the initial call order and then for the spotting rounds. I have done this many times in risky situations - crawl my FO team into a covered observation spot make the call then crawl out again to a safe place and wait for the spotting rounds then crawl back and spot. Pay attention to how long they took to get from safety to the OP so you can time them crawling back. -

Armchair General review of CMRT
A Canadian Cat replied to A Canadian Cat's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Yeah, that's true. I was fixated on how some of them have the icons still on or the hit text still on or a unit selected which distracts from the graphic goodness. I probably should not complain about that in a game review though since it shows what it looks like when you are actually playing. -
I just stumbled on this: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/combat-mission-red-thunder-pc-game-review.htm I did a search and could not see reference to it here on the forum. If I missed an earlier post then - oops sorry for a needless post. Nothing particularly amazing about the review mind you.

Who Let Fritz Pick His Own Weapons?
A Canadian Cat replied to Talespin Jim's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Just FYI it is highly unlikely to change. BFC and others have been over this a couple of times and in WWII soldiers did not give up their rifles. We don't need to rehash it again here - well I won't. If you search the forum you will find several threads over the years that discussed this. -
The Blitz Scenario of the Month program
A Canadian Cat replied to A Canadian Cat's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
I updated the scenario descriptions you can find in the links in the Blitz forum post. I used the descriptions provided by the scenario authors (with slight editing) so they all hit different portions of your requested information. Both the CMFI and CMRT are pretty long and I know the CMFI is not small even through the map is not too big - because it is a totally urban setting. The CMBN scenario is described as Medium+ with a 45min time limit. So, it is the smallest of the three but probably not really a small scenario. -
Oh man, I am sooo not looking forward to those posts. Sigh.

Skill levels effects, and is it the same for the AI ?
A Canadian Cat replied to ColSaid's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
That is *not* my understanding. My read of the manual is that Elite and Iron are the same except that Iron "shows" you what friendlies your guys can see. I see no difference between the way C2 feels and works between Elite and Iron. -
The Blitz Scenario of the Month program

I was going to say that the links in the blitz forum post are to our scenario database and the descriptions are there. But I see that they are pretty bare. I will endeavor to update them - check back this evening...
