  3. Yeah, I heard from @Bootie and there is only one in the depot at the moment. There is a lot of things that have not been uploaded to the new location yet. I have no idea where another source could be.
  4. While what @sburke said is all true however this thread has wondered away from the original issue and right into the same old same old: HT usage and HT gunner exposure. So, the thread has gone much the same way as the last 5 - 50 times it has come up: Assaulting enemy positions with troops mounted in HTs in 1944 was not something the Germans did any longer at that time of the war. For good reason. And the gunner stance *was* adjusted to increase their survivability substantially - from the front: now when you use the HT in their secondary 1944 role, as a base of fire, the MG the gunner has much better survivability when you use the HT far back (400-600m) as fire support. In fact now I have a lot of success using HT MGs from a distance. It is bloody hard to take out a HT gunner from the front now - if the HT is well back and the fire is coming from the front where the protection is. Now if Ken is going to test out the original question - lower that expected protection from the vehicle that would be interesting. If it really is the case that walking down a road in the open while being shot at is better than riding in a HT then there will likely be a case for some kind of change . It will be interesting to see what vehicle does offer more protection from small arms fire - the bren, German HT or the American HT. Heck throw in a kangaroo too Ken that would be cool.
  5. Yeah, that should be easier than it is. The new location for scenarios, maps and campaigns is here:http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/ This is the best search I could find for looking up campaigns: http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/search-2/#search/category=CM+BATTLE+FOR+NORMANDY&tag=CAMPAIGN but that only shows one. That seems odd.
  6. Now you have a character that you can point to a back story that people can actually read, instead of being implied and made up. You now have a stronger narrative - the up and coming Blanchard who grows from his experience. You are welcome.
  7. That would do it. The battle pack makes heavy use of the vehicle pack.
  8. yes, they can. In a situation like this they will die even faster, but it is really cool.
  9. Not that is not the one I was thinking of. That is a good thread. The one I was thinking of I asked people what was it they were not happy with any why their desire to get X frame rate was an issue. It was a very interesting discussion about what there were seeing that I was not noticing. And the Steve posted a bit of information. It was not really a practical here is how to optimize things for our machine but it was enlightening.
  10. There was a recent discussion thread that was really great. I could never figure out why some people were so unhappy with performance but I was very happy with it. Turns out there are a lot of things to consider. It was an interesting discussion but I cannot find it any more. Damn it I would have sworn I book marked it but it seems I have not and I did a couple of searches and came up empty. Sigh. If any one can find it please link it here - then I will be sure to book mark it.
  11. Yes, hiding in foxholes is very effective against taking casualties from artillery. Just don't forget you gave your men the hide command... Yes, it works for 81mm mortars too. My personal preference is to have medium mortars off map so they can have more ammo but it I have them on map I will use direct fire from them if I can.
  12. Wow now that I see this on my computer and no my phone I can see a dozen holes. That is a lot. Is that because the hits were penetrating the skirt but not the vehicle?
  13. Right which is why what he could do to fix things is use the v3 installer.
  14. Yikes! For people who bought the v3 upgrade there is no need for the long complex install order recipes any more. Right now you can go get a single installer for 3.11 and run it and then add the 3.12 patch or the battle pack on top of it and that is it. Two steps only some day it will be one again I would imagine.
  15. Oh thanks for the heads up. I'll go remove that mod I have now before I forget about it.
  16. Excellent - another AAR to read. Loving those icons BTW
  17. Cool, test thanks for doing it. Very interesting to actually have some numbers. If you still have the saves can you try one more thing? I am curious if the counts change much if the wounded lie there for 25 minutes. In other words you have the numbers from stopping after 5 minutes and the numbers for maximum buddy aid. I am curious if leaving the wounded lying around after the fighting stops for 25 minutes would make things worse.
  18. For the most part yes. But there is a class of bug like this one where a fix can be made that does not quite cover everything. Think about how many wondering crew issues have been reported or goofy bridge pathing issues. There have been multiple fixes and each fix was real and made things better but some problems still remain. This one is even more blecky because the fix might not cover every roof on every map. Sucks for sure. Only thing that we can do is report each thing we see and slowly work our way through them.
  19. @JonS, the repository has been replaced by third party sites. The scenario depot: http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/ and CMMods: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/
  20. You do know how to ask for feed back - good idea. Answers below. I missed the comic look - I like it the way you did Rundstedt. But let me be clear halftone dots or no dots I'm in for reading every one of them. So, my preference is for dots but my real preference is for the work you are doing. Cool. This is one of those things that I did not even notice but can see clearly now that you mention it. Don't stop because I think it would be missed. I liked it. It would still be good using halftone dots too Yes, focusing on a single person or a crew did work. Do I think you should only do it that way from now on - no way. Both narrative styles are fun to read. So, go where it moves you make a mix switch to only one way - just make more please
  21. I strongly expect that you are correct. However I still maintain the Russian government can keep this up for much longer than we expect. They know that given enough time Ukraine could grow impatient and do something that will upset the West and trigger that ovrert reaction from Russia. Or the West could just get tired and slowly back away from sanctions and condemnation. After all we have done it before. I worry there is a third option where the Putin government just keeps things frozen like this for much longer than Europe can keep their back bone stiff and eventually gets what they want.
  22. Wow cool - I have only noticed it once before my self but I think it happens more often than we notice. It has always been in the game.
