  1. Probably done this before and will do again. Salute! No idea but is this work you and Marco do work ripped from other titles? Why this isn't in retail releases still alludes me. Improves the game immensely, thank you.
  2. Has anyone got some comparison screenshots showing this method in action in CM?
  3. Would be interested to see how this works out George and co.
  4. On the flip side sometimes you get lucky. Was playing Road to Nijmegen last night and this happened. (Possible minor spoilers) Went on for a total victory due to German surrender but it was a tough slog.
  5. I've deleted my uniform mods because they were conflicting with new file names once MG was installed. This could be part of the problem already identified with uniforms in other topics and maybe fixed in the next patch. Tell you the truth the uniforms are pretty spiffy as they come.
  6. Agreed but I think I'd rather have been the pilot. Just curious for any thoughts... Were pilots who made friendly fire mistakes ever informed when they got back to base? You don't hear much about Germans making the same mistakes (at least on the same scale as the allies) were they any better when they ruled the skies at the start of the war?
  7. Traffic jam syndrome. Always been a problem but I think it's highlighted more in CMMG (and rightly so!). I appreciate it's a narrow road in parts to Arnhem but would be great if the tank in front becomes bogged/imobilised/destroyed doesn't cause everyone else following behind them to lose about 100 IQ points and start scattering in every direction to get around the obstacle. Last night I saw a Sherman decide driving straight into a muddy ditch was a good idea. Keeping good spacing is a good bit of planning on the part of the player but in WEGO a minute is a long time... My 'player' brain thinks simply cancelling a move order that becomes no longer possible would be a better idea - let the player implement the Plan B. But I'm guessing that's a programming nightmare.
  8. Search through my old posts, something special there for you. In addition I've got a much more powerful battle statistics tool in the works that crosses over the CMx2 (WW2 era) games. Economist and data nerd...
  9. The biggest draw of BF's products (for me at least) is they don't age as fast as most other contemporaries on the market. You can get equal enjoyment out of them regardless of when they were released and a big part of this is probably the Upgrade system that's being implemented. CMx2 replacing CMx1 is probably the only break in that rule. Interest in specific different theaters of war is the determining factor in making a purchase rather than features. This isn't a negative thing for this series. If I know I can play / buy a tactical wargame for a WW2 title set in Normandy 1944 and another on the Eastern Front circa 1942 (I know Bagration is 1944 - just for arguments sake) and they operate exactly the same with the differences being in the history rather than the game features / engine, that's a huge positive for this genre and pretty unique. Now if only all my dreams came true and CM: Afrika was announced so I could command my fellow Australians again....
  10. Just playing Road to Nijmegan and had this occur. Trying to use ditches for concealment and makeshift cover as I advance up the map. At the end of the move, the Tommy's decide to move to the top of the ditch before spotting and get blasted as they are in the open before enemy guns.
  11. Didn't Fortress Italy sales surprise you guys in a good way? Never know maybe the Eastern Front will do the same.
  12. Double check the Start Before and Start After times in the bottom left. You have to assign a time for AI groups to move to new parts of the map. So you can't order a counter-attack as such, have to time and test it right so it will feel like a counter-attack for the player on the other side.
  13. MS Excel. Yeah excel has quite a bit of power functionality, it's all about how you design the spreadsheet and how easy you make it possible to edit it. Ideally may want to look at MS Access but that's more work on top of the Excel stuff. Sorry work with these programs daily.
  14. Interesting approach had a similar idea going into the mission but the plan changed after ten minutes or so. And those flak kill lanes can really surprise you.
  15. http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/threads/mods-aris-and-other-popular-mods-combined-into-easy-to-download-packs.17477/ Here. Covers all of Aris' stuff for CMBN and CW. Nothing for MG yet as he's still working on them. May update the packs once Fuser 'moves on' back to CMFI or who knows Ost Front.
  16. Gave me a chuckle. Sadly Gerry didn't run in fright from "The Hulk".
  17. I'm just finalising a smaller infantry scenario for the fighting at Fournel on D-Day between the 101st Airborne and the 91st (Airlanding) Infantry Division. "Three Patrol Action." Yes it involves a pig trough. I'll switch back to Windsor once that is done. Sorry slow process on my end, full time professional job, building a house, Market Garden being released.
  18. Angry Field Marshall barking orders to the player - That's a new CM feature that needs to be implemented! It can be worked around quite easily in the editor if someone wanted to make a scenario about capturing a bridge before it blows. Simply use a hard an fast time limit which forces the attacker to rush and weight the VP's very heavily for a terrain objective around the bridge - this dictates whether it's a win or a loss. Off the top of my head, this would also work quite well in a campaign situation as it's a yes/no result and from there could lead to two 'campaign pathways'.
  19. Probably already mentioned... - An in game FPS counter - The ability for scenario authors to pit opposing AI plans against each other so they can sit back and watch roughly what may occur in a scenario. Could be a good testing phase before handing it over to other testers. - And the more time I spend with the scenario editor the more I wish AI plans could be designed in 3D mode.
  20. Congrats on finishing CW and many thanks again!
  21. Never mind, seen it's already been reported in another thread.
  22. Installed MG and getting some real problems with the unit portraits. Fallschirmjäger are the worse offenders with no portraits at all... http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/ithikial/CMNormandy2013-10-1911-32-10-50_zps245e5a8c.png And support vehicles http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/ithikial/CMNormandy2013-10-1911-32-19-85_zps4ef02cb0.png Checked one of the other new MG missions and every German SS portrait is coming up as a tank commander. Initially I thought it was some mod conflict, I uninstalled my z folder and after that didn't work did a complete fresh reinstall and the problem persists. Any thoughts?
  23. I thought replacements without combat experience would be a good reason to bump them down the regular overall. Was the training regime and the chance for wargames etc as rigorous for forces dropping into Normandy? Need a replacement grog.
