  1. I'm in contact with GaJ, but still no luck. Having trouble with the Repository too. But that actually is a good thing, since in going over the mods and comparing them to the defaults one last time, I realized that the BFC uniforms don't have any marsh pattern camo, and my mod has a few. That means they could only have come from nik mond's super "GL Tan and Marsh Pattern" FJ uniform mod in the Repository here, http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2675, and I want to get his permission before I use them. @nik, if you are reading this, let me know if it is OK to use your mods as a base for some of my uniforms. You'll get full credit, and I'll change the readme to reflect that! Cheers! mjk
  2. Sorry, I can't upload to CMMODS, atm. Martin/GaJ, if you see this, there is no "box" to link to my mod zip file. I can link to a picture file, but there isn't anything after this: "... and select the mod zip file:" Any suggestions?
  3. This took a week longer than expected because of trying to track down a rogue/ghost bmp that kept showing up in-game. Here is the read me. Fallschirmjaeger Uniform Mod The Fallschirmjaeger jump smocks evolved over time from the original plain feldgrau color to marsh patterns and splinter patterns, with a lot of local and individual modifications. The color or tint of the camo patterns used by Fallschirmjaegers varied from tans to greens. The basic BFC FJ uniforms are really nice, and frankly don’t need to be modded. But I like variety in uniforms, so had to give it a try. *************************** This Mod has 5 folders loosely covering different periods of the war, but mostly to group the uniforms roughly according to color. “1940” contains uniforms for Holland through Crete, with the basic feldgrau jump smock predominant but with varied hues. “1941” uniforms have some early war plain smocks, with tan/brown camo jumpsmocks, for Crete, primarily. “1942” for Desert-Sicily, with a mix of tan/brown and lighter green or grey/green camo smocks. (The Luftwaffe never officially issued a “desert” smock, although one was planned for the aborted assault on Malta in 1942—Operation Hercules. Some Jaegers wore the standard Luftwaffe desert uniform, but some also modified their smocks with tan-colored material.) “1943” for Sicily-Italy-France, primarily a mix of the lighter grey/tan and lighter greens. “1944” NW Europe and Italy. Additional Content: Each folder contains FJ helmets, boots, and gear. TO USE: Unzip the file and choose which folder you want to use, and drop it into your “z” folder. If you have any other FJ uniform mods (I don’t think there are any at this time), or FJ helmet mods, you should remove them. On the other hand, I have prefixed the names of these folders with “zzzzz” so these mods should override any other ones that you might have. Cheers! mjkerner I'll be uploading at GaJ's CMMODS and the Repository.
  4. Seriously? You gotta be joking. Just check MG related book and wargame sales. Hell, even my wife and sisters at least know about it and can make a knowledable reference to it when they see one of my books or a magazine article about Operation Market Garden: "Isn't that the one about the bridge?"
  5. I agree, battle #2 was good fun. I planned on skipping #3 (and now #4) for the same reason you didn't like it; AI doesn't attack very well. I'll go right to #5. (I'll be jumping out of the campaign and going direct to #5 now that Mad Mike updated his Scenario organizer for GL.)
  6. Baneman, I have had the main weapon knocked out and still used the tank as a mobile mg platform before.
  7. I have your book, too. Cool! It's always somehow cool when authors of military books are interested in wargames. Sure, it's logical that they would be, but it still sort of blows my mind. I think it's because when I was younger and getting into wargames--45+ years ago--the contemporary authors were largely of my parents generation, and would mostly scoff at wargames, not having grown up playing them, and most likely had been in the war itself. But I digress. I liked your book, Perry. Good job!
  8. About infantry in rubble: I seem to recall that you can't put infantry in it during set-up, but you can move them into it after the game starts. Or maybe you couldn't in the original CMBN, and then could after a patch or module came out. My memory sux, but crsutt's comment rings true to me, because I distinctly remember being pleasantly surprised in a pbem a while ago when I needed to crawl a mg team into some rubble for safety, thought it wouldn't work, but tried it anyway...and it worked!
  9. Good idea, Bootie! This must be brand new, I didn't notice it this morning when I checked FGM. I'm starting on a Crete mod (of sorts), along with scenarios...maybe a short campaign even. Also, any though about a Mod workshop area? People can share tips, etc.? Cheers! mj
  10. I have his Cholm book (I like EF sieges, for some reason). It was very, very good. In fact, it will be my first EF re-read when BFC issues Bagration.
  11. Welcome Skwabie. You should check the "Maps and Mod" section both here and for CM Fortess Italy forum. Plenty of modding going on.
  12. It's at CMMODS: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4916/details
  13. That was Mad Mike. He just updated it for CMGL. It's a great tool for guys like me that don't want to grind through a real long campaign.
  14. juju, the file names are: fg-42-early green fg-42-early yellow fg-42-early Will you upload these?
  15. With any luck, BFC will do a GL pack with Free French, Gebirgsjager, etc.
  16. ^^^This. I've seen it a lot on setup. When I do my own scenarios, I don't use a setup zone for "my" side.
  17. Forgive the above vulgarity. I meant to say "they were definitely people with which you do not want to fok!"
  18. Actually, my FJs in a recent battle were pulling out pistols quite a bit...but I think they were weapon teams, mostly, but I am sure at close quarters a few jaegers pulled them out too. I 'll have to keep my eyes open next time I use them...which will be mostly forever and ever from CMGL on....
