  1. Yup, finished turning boots into sandals, but still have a lot of putzing with getting the greatcoat neck and collar to look more like a folded back hood and simple neck opening. I've been sidetracked on RL and some small interim projects for Broadsword and kohlenklau. I should be back at it this weekend. Glad there's some interest in this.
  2. Beeeaaaauuuutiful map, Benpark! I will be destroying it soon.
  3. So, I don't know what came over me, but I had a strong feeling this morning that today we'd see pre-orders for MG. OTHO, don't take any tips on the winning lottery numbers from me!
  4. I have height control mapped tommy mouse wheel. I plan on taping it in place at the lowest level when I next try out Iron mode, and see if that would help keep me honest.
  5. snakee, terrain mods merely change the look of the .bmp texture image. So say you have Aris' terrain mod in your z folder: you pick and place "weeds" tiles in the editor; the visual you see when you open the game will be Aris' version of the weeds terrain tile image. Hope that helps.
  6. BFC has already stated that MG will cover Sept through November, 1944. It will include more than MG battles; early Siegfried Line action, including Huertgen Forest. Different terrain, different climate, Fallschirmjaegers, infantry in overcoats, new TO&E's (not just Kriegsmarine), new goodies in the editor, and new weapons and vehicles. Yup, definitely not worth it. Bulge will cover from December '44 to end of war in Europe.
  7. I wouldn't get too bummed out about this. Steve has mentioned before that decals are do- able, but just pretty low on the list. I don't recall whether this is a feature more likely to debut in a new game, like Bulge or East Front, or just later, but I do recall a discussion to the effect that it will show up eventually.
  8. And I bet he shot that a few times as well.
  9. No, unfortunately, you can't. The models are completely different, and the skins wrap around them in wierd ways. I know this because i tried it. Plus the way the mdr (?...can't recall if it's " mdr" or some other acronym) files place accoutrements would be pretty goofy.
  10. Hi Mord, glad to hear that you're getting a new rig! I was busy in your absence. http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4958/details @oddball, sounding good!
  11. Jesus, where did you come from ol' pal?! Hope all is well.
  12. Joe, I doubt it, because the mdr?? files would need to direct the game to put them on the dogface model. If FI/GL doesn't already do that, I just don't think it can be done. (I haven't played for or against Americans in FI/GL in 6 months or more, so I don't know if there is any backpack/haversack, etc., used on the Amis.) I believe I read on here recentlky that even a hex editor doesn't work on GL, which could possibly have re-directed what gear goes on what model.
  13. I've always wondered about that too. Seems tailor made for MH Channel's demographics.
  14. Okay, now I'm missing something. Only one section/team is chosen (the orange one), correct?
  15. The squad is split, so you will only see the weapons of the men in the section you've clicked on. The squad has to re-merge in order for the GUI to show them all.
  16. I don't think there's a workaround, Broadsword. The terrain "under" the battlemap is the "distant ground" texture, which is a bmp image, and it's simply repeated over and over. If you modded it so the northern orientation looked like water and the rest like dirt, you'd just end up with hundreds of mini versions of it and it would look like a quilt. But it does look nice from down low. It's a mod, so individuals could choose to use it or not.
  17. Jorge MC, as soon as I get clearance from the Quartermaster Corps, I'll get to it and rename/add normal maps as needed and get them shipped to Italy. Maybe this weekend.
  18. Looking North: Looking NW: Raised view, looking NE: There is no game object to show height/scale, but this is probably the equivalent of 50 feet in the air. In other words, not very high.
  19. Will do, once I can remember my Photobucket password! But I agree...down low, it's all good.
