  1. I used armour. I was under the impression smart rounds were not modelled in game? The rounds seemed to follow a normal spread anyway
  2. I have knocked out several (red)tanks with 155mm arty, you need quite a few rounds but as soon as you get a direct top hit it's game over for the tank
  3. Yeah, I only know anything about the appstore because I had to do a iOS coding module at uni, haven't used my mac in years lol
  4. I may be wrong but wern't (US at least) rifle grenades HEAT rounds?
  5. Yes sorry, I got confused between the mac app store and the iOS app store
  6. History teaching in general is pretty dismal over here in the UK (they have schools in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland too you know ; ) ). It's only compulsary until year 9 (13/14 year olds, no idea what grade that is) and I honestly don't remember having any WW2 stuff after the age of 8 or 9 or so
  7. The great thing about download sales is that most of us europeans can bypass that : ) However I presume BF will need to provide a special german download version for this reason. Unless I'm mistaken there were no Nazi/SS symbols in the main game (at least the flags), great thing is these can allways be modded tho : )
  8. I don't think we have to fish, I'm sure I saw steve or a beta tester post that all on man guns could be fired indirectly, really cba to go find it though
  9. My guess is no and yes judging from experience in CMSF Generally if the FO can see the spotting rounds it should be pretty spot on, although I expect accuracy to be greatly diminished from CMSF
  10. I have come across this problem, the main thing is when you have yellow guys in your assault teams and you need to plot complex orders with multiple waypoints, the guys have to wait at each waypoint and wait for the yellow guy to catch up. I've had this thought before, it's not so much of a problem in my overwatch teams as generally when I need to move them they can do so safely at any speed, but in the assault teams it could be a real pain in the ass. It'd be a nice feature, just to drop em from the squad and abstract it like casevac is, perhaps he just goes back and sits with Plt/Co/Bn HQ. Of course if the unit was cut off it'd be highly unrealistic but then again the game already allows us to do highly unrealistic things with our troops. I can understand its more than likely never gonna happen, but it would be nice
  11. Re the withdraw order It's main advantage was that it would get pinned units to retreat a lot faster than if you used any other movement order. It was nice for infantry and vehs in open ground, but trying to advance a column down a road was a nightmare trying to time it right to stop traffic jams
  12. Steve has said it's on the "to do" list Id bet it'll be in the next full title (not module) as by then most of the 32 bit systems should have died : )
  13. I guess it will be impenetrable to non rhino equipped vehs, just like it would have been in real life Although we have different types of hedge i believe so if there is a short one i'd guess all tracked/half tracked vehs could go over/through those
  14. I agree I don't think BF should do TCP/WEGO without pause at all, I think it could contribute towards a negative image of the game, people will notice the lack of proper TCP/WEGO less than they would half a feature that really offers very little advantage If you're going to do a feature like this (please do : ) ) do it properly, i for one can wait a bit longer for it ; )
  15. Is there a CMx1 style shocked though? IE a crew member goes down you can issue movement orders but not combat orders? I havn't noticed anything like this but of course i could be wrong, all i notice is a crew member goes down and the whole tank panics and refuses to take any orders at all I'm not bothered either way tbh it'd just be cool to know
  16. Is the drive showing in your my computer section? If not try this Press the start button and in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu type “regedit” Click on “regedit.exe” in the search results and then give permission when windows asks you to open the registry editor. On the tree view in the left side of the registry editor find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and maximise this The in HKEY LOCAL MACHINE maximise SYSTEM in SYSTEM maximise CurrentControlSet In CurrentControlSet maximise Control in Control Maximise Class In the class tree their should be a list of keys with very long names (example: {0475BB51-5A02-4EE0-B36C-29040FAD2650}) click on the first one under Class and look to the right panel their should be information about that key and you need see if that key says “CD/DVD drives”, keep checking each key in the class tree until you find that. Now once you have found the CD/DVD drives key in the right panel their should be upper-filters and lower-filters, delete these (note: there might be two lower and upper filters with the second set having a .bak extension make sure you don’t delete these if you do). once you have deleted these close the registry editor and re-boot. Your drive should now be visible as windows makes a new set of lower and upper filters for the CD/DVD drives registry key. (Disclaimer: Doing something wrong in the registry editor can have drastic consequences, be careful with following the instructions and make a restore point before you do it) If it does show in your my computer how long has it been playing up for? More than a month? If its less than a month might be worth doing a system restore back to when it was last working ok
  17. What would be the point? All that does is take the main advantage of WEGO away from you and just leaves you with the disadvantages
  18. There are a few experimental ones, but they only create fusion for a tiny fraction of a second and even the best one only produces enough energy to match how much it took to get it going in the first place Anyway waaaaaay OT Yeah PBEM is a very poor substitute for TCP/IP (i still enjoy pbem though). The main advantage of TCP/IP is speed, sure a big file might take 5 mins to send, but to PBEM it you need to spend 5 minutes uploading it, your opponent time to download, the loading times which can be long, i could go on lol Personally I feel it's a bit of a cop out, but I can see we won't win this argument, I can live with it
  19. I loaded my gmg team up with 40mm from their bulldog and it showed in their ammo count, the actual number one not the bar one
  20. Did a quick test, turns out you can dismount the Bulldog crew, send them into another bulldog and aquire the 40mm, send them back into their own bulldog and they can share the ammo Bit of a pain but it works
  21. If I remember correctly the units that share ammo need to be from the same platoon In it aint half hot mum i got the CO HQ to load up on 7.62mm and got him to stand next to my GPMG teams, the ammo wouldn't share. However when I got one MG to load up on 7.62mm he could share it with the other MG teams
  22. I believe they said that we will never see operations as such (as they were in CMx1), however persistent map damage and vehicle wrecks may be on the list somewhere
