  1. Am I missing something, where is the 76.2 mm HE referred to?
  2. Mate, I just think they should say 'aiming for mid June' or something, every time I come to the forums there seems to be another thread guesing how far away the fricken release date is, I'm just saying BFC need to manage this a bit better.
  3. CA despite their faults do actually give the public an expected release date.
  4. If I can be serious for a minute I don't think BFC have managed community expectations very well. Releasing screenshots etc is fine but the reality is there is a genuine community out there that keeps getting strung along with nothing official in terms of release date. I understand BFC don't know exactly when CM:BN will be released due to ongoing development but come on give the community some idea.
  5. He has the power to change time itself, unfortunatley he uses it for evil and goes back to medieval days occasionally pretending he's a god - only for the 'earthly' benefits of being divine in the middle ages.
  6. darn double post, well I'm not saying it again.
  7. FFS RTFM!!!! It's on page 184 under 'uncommonly asked questions', you need to get your FO into the command Greyhound, it's the one with the dish array instead of a turret. If that dosen't work go to the barn on top of the eastern hill, when the milkmaid say's "ave you seen my cows"? reply "Tropical fish are hard to keep". She'll take you up to the hay loft and rig up a comlink using milk pales and fencing wire.
  8. I got my FO to call in an Orbital Strike on the Farmhouse, yeah I know a bit of a gamey solution but the smirk on that MG42 gunners face was really starting to piss me off.
  9. I believe it was Moon that said release would be 4-6 weeks after pre-orders are announced.
  10. Pay attention! 'Commonwealth' is on first, 'Market Garden' is on second and 'I don't know' is on third.
  11. I think I'll go back to unblinking staring at the ceiling...
  12. Currently the most effective way to inflict casualties on enemy troops inside buildings is not to target the roof but target the ground at the base of the building. The lateral blast effect through the walls seems to be a lot more deadly than trying to punch through the roof. Of course this isn't as useful if they're on the third or more floor.
  13. Yes, from what I saw at the preview you can select any of the QB maps available. So you can start by selecting a medium sized battle (which gives you your spending limit), you then pick your units (with rarity adjustments), then select anywhere from the smallest map to the largest. The version I saw had accompanying thumbnails with the maps and I think there was a preview function as well.
  14. Just to clarify we were looking at a QB setup, and it was a Tiger 1 before anyone gets too exited.
  15. Is this scenario designed and tested in WEGO or RT? I don't think CMSF was ever really designed for detailed MOUT combat as the dominant part of the game, this is highlighted even more when playing WEGO in MOUT heavy scenarios.
  16. I'd like to see a 'move to contact' command return. The hunt command is really only useful for moving over short distances and I believe tires the troops out faster than move. The move command is great for moving your troops into combat without tiring them out but if they come under enemy fire they don't stop but just start running instead.
  17. The invasion of Syria as depicted in CMSF is set in 2008 and is not supposed to be updated as new weapons systems enter service today. So for things like Active Protection Systems I think you'll have to accept that your now playing a hypothetical yet 'historical' campaign.
  18. A worthwhile day indeed, great to meet everyone and be able to talk to fellow CM gamers in person. The game looks amazing, I think my favourite moment was seeing a railway bridge over a river with animated water, it just looked like a diorama some obessive modeller would make and the perfect setting for some WW2 gaming. The level of detail someone has gone to in the models and textures is very impressive. I'm not yet sold on the idea of having sandbags around the top of foxholes, I think I prefer the pile of dirt look like the've had to dig for their lives rather than the nicely prepared look. Maybe we can have both? If not I'll get used to it pretty quickly. The QB system seems to be just what many people included myself have been longing for since CMSF was released. It appeared to be pretty flexible and open to the users imagination based on their preferences, and being able to set time limits again was a big sigh of relief. I can see QB's taking up a lot of gaming time. I think everyone in the room was in agreement that my tactical choices in the H2H match were inspired! WillLight and myself played as the heroic outgunned American defenders of a small town bravely holding back the evil geniuses of Fenris and Destraex1 backed by Panzer Lehr and the Reichs entire reserves of artillery. Unfortunately I had to leave about 20 mins into the battle leaving WillLight with our men bravely dieing under the tracks of their Panthers whilst running around in blind fits of panic. How did it work out for us Yair? Thanks again to Mark for his warm hospitality, and patience in answering all our questions.
  19. I had a friend that went to a costume party dressed as Rambo, after a few too many drinks he decided to try and stumble home with his plastic M-16 slung over his shoulder. He got about half an hour into the walk when he was surrounded by police with weapons drawn.
  20. I'm glad they corrected the evelation inaccuracies of the tanks main gun.
  21. In CMSF ATGM's 'usually' leave advancing infantry alone until they get within a range where they seem to fell threatened.
  22. The troops booted lower legs look a little skinny, making it look like they're wearing officers breeches or have massive thigh muscles. Check out the middle guy in the above screenshot and in screenshot 6.
  23. And of course the opposite is possible in CMSF, where you can load any QB map into the editor, cherry pick your forces and then save it as a scenario.
  24. I think that campaign has very tight casualty limits, and sometimes even though the enemy surrender you still lose if you don't have enough objective points which can be pretty frustrating.
