  1. I don't believe the German public buy into the 'threat from the east' scenario that their senior NATO partner are trying to sell, they quite rightly suspect that it's much more about stopping Russian gas from crossing borders, than it is about Russian tanks. Sorry if that's too political, but it's kind of hard to discuss this subject in isolation.
  2. The German accent for Lieutenant Colonel Wolf had me in stitches TBH! PS - Back in the day, there was a great CM:BB map (& scenario) for Red Oktober, I've still got it, might dig it out an make some posts in the CM:BB forum.....I do miss 'Grey Panzers' (& KVs).
  3. Have some more traditional 'Viking' imagery, courtesy of these fine fellows:
  4. Trusting the AI to setup anything more complex than infantry is a fools errand IMHO. I have to say the newer games feel so much more powerful than CM:SF1 & CM:A, with creative use of snowballing and exit zones you can create some really convincing stuff (effectively recycling AI Groups for re-use during a longer scenario). I'm still getting my head around the wonders that can be worked with triggers. PS - @benpark Every time I see that Berlin map in editor view, I feel like I need a little lie down in sympathy!
  5. I love the A-10 so I'd like to see it included, but to make life interesting I'd also like to see Pantsir S1 & Tor-M1 too.
  6. I doubt you are alone (it's not top of mine, but I certainly wouldn't say no).
  7. Possibly of interest to denizens of this thread.....A précis of testimony presented to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on February 7, 2019: https://warontherocks.com/2019/02/the-chinese-military-speaks-to-itself-revealing-doubts/ Full testimony, here: https://www.uscc.gov/sites/default/files/Blasko_USCC Testimony_FINAL.pdf
  8. I think @RockinHarry has it.....Here's a screenie of the carnage (only three dead at this point, the rest got it when they panicked and ran): As you can see they were all dropped just as they made contact with the bridge/building tile.....Perhaps, as Harry suggested, there is an invisible wall there, but the moment a unit starts to penetrate it, they become visible to units on the far side (and then the hail of bullets does for the rest of the team outside the invisible barrier as there isn't actually a physical wall there). Might merit some further investigation, because this is quite a neat way to get vehicles in & out of compounds. PS - At no point were my units able to draw a line of sight to ANY of the structures visible in the background and IIRC nobody shot at my units until they touched that tile.....I'm guessing the ones that crossed the 'threshold' may have had LOS, but they were dead almost instantly so I never found out for sure. PPS - Having said that I did try placing various waypoint on the bridge itself and testing to see if I could get LOS from there.....With no joy. PPPS - Perplexed.
  9. It's strange you say that fella, because it's pretty plain to see that my alleged 'bait' is the only post in this entire thread that actually relates directly to the CM games.
  10. Interesting article: http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/26458/the-u-s-armys-new-up-gunned-stryker-armored-vehicles-have-been-hacked Anyone know any more?
  11. The weird thing was that it seemed that the guys on the other side could see just fine.....Beginning to wondering if there was another unit firing that I missed (hence my 'under the bridge' comments) but I didn't notice anything to indicate one.
  12. In which case, as I said elsewhere, I figure it's probably the sidewalls of the bridge that are messing with LOS (they're taller than a low wall).....What I don't get is why the unit on the other side can apparently see through them OK? Could it be because they were in a building (lower floor)? Does the TacAI presume a small elevation change for that condition? I'm currently a bit mystified, so I'm going to try an armoured car shortly, see how that goes.
  13. When I decided to build Azov in CM:BS (just the second battalion & the tank company), so that right minded players can have fun blowing them to tiny little bits, I just went to their website for references, but I didn't feel the need to post links to it.
  14. I've not investigated The Citadel, but my attack on the Ministry Of The Interior didn't go well at all.....I'm just discussing the events with @MOS:96B2P, over in the other place. I'm not too familiar with the mechanics of the 'bridges in buildings thing' so I'm struggling to get my head around what exactly is going on. I was wondering if enemy units might have wound up under the bridge tile (if that's even possible)?
  15. Sadly in at least some configurations, those bridge entrances can play hell with LOS.....I lost eight men to a couple of dudes in a building on the other side of one of these structures, the units concerned couldn't even see the building.
  16. I believe so.....TBH I haven't tried it, but that's my recollection.
  17. I believe you still get a couple of installs with your licence.
  18. Wrong window.....Anyone who read the post, please try to forget it.
  19. Regime forces realise the folly of opposing the peoples' uprising, throw down their weapons & surrender to a hero of the revolution:
