  1. I've had a few facing issues with vehicles given a retreat order.....IIRC they turned their hulls to face the retreat order prior to that order becoming active.
  2. Was that minefield in the original, I don't recall it being there?
  3. I love the Ramones (seen them more times than any other band)! One of those heads is mine! No. 1 - You've already done it, I'm still talking about it. 2 - 1km x 1km of that lunacy would be the absolute maximum I would attempt.....And I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it, I've still got a golf course (& Bishr) to finish!
  4. And a couple more: https://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/heavy-infantry-order-battle https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2019/02/08/how-the-syrian-battlefield-is-preparing-the-corps-for-a-fight-with-russia-or-china/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=New Campaign&utm_term=Editorial - Marine Corps - Daily News Roundup
  5. It would be great if we could collate all these little gems scattered across the various sub-forums into a CM-wide 'Scenario Writing Hints & Tips' thread in this (General) forum area.
  6. Common sense may finally be beginning to prevail: https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2019/02/08/the-framework-for-a-us-withdrawal-from-afghanistan-has-been-set-will-it-stick/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MAR 02.08.19&utm_term=Editorial - Marine Corps - Daily News Roundup
  7. Possibly of interest to the regular denizens of this thread, a change of posture for US SoF: https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-army/2019/02/08/fighting-terrorism-may-rely-on-secret-surrogate-forces-going-forward/
  8. Got to play the scenario first (my golden rule). I think I can already get the gist of how it works, but I will be looking at your scripts in the not too distant future, you can be sure of that.
  9. Any chance one of you guys could PM me with a précis of the concept please?
  10. Either that, or you have some re-installing to do!
  11. Ninja'ed! As stated, Syrian SoF come with the Marines Module.
  12. Some very creative stuff is being done with triggers & that's a fact.
  13. In some fairly recent CM:SF1 experiments I found that Syrian SoF Engineers would only Blast a wall if their platoon HQ was present on the map (regardless of whether he was in the active group).....Why that would be the case I have absolutely no idea. In CM:A (which is where I discovered the ability of the AI to blast, as demo-charge equipped units are omnipresent among the Uncons), I found that having ONLY demo-charge equipped units in the active group seemed to help. This certainly helps with the scripting in both CM:A & CM:SF1 (I'm writing some such scripts right now, so if I find any new rules I'll report back). PS - The base AI order to trigger the behaviour seems to be Assault, I've not tested Max-Assault to see how they behave as I tend not to use that order.
  14. Have to agree.....I find it very hard to persuade CM:A AI forward observers to call in anything in, unless something actually shoots at them, which is not an ideal situation from the 'sudden explody death from above' front.
  15. And those are some properly scary tanks in this scenario, believe me.....While they ain't much cop against a M1A2 TUSK, they sure do have a Fiat Taxi outclassed!
  16. That's useful to know.....I wonder if it can be implemented with the AI, using an Assault Order to the same painted location?
  17. I'd love to see the simple option to add a timing to a painted AI Target (the game's current preliminary bombardment method).....This could make a world of difference IMHO.
  18. We'll find out about that one, because if I'm not mistaken that's the remains of the Al Nuri Mosque.....Which lie at the centre of my next CM:SF2 mapping project (once Bishr Redux is done).
  19. A few generic gunmen to go with the vehicles wouldn't hurt, that's for sure.
  20. @MOS:96B2P disagrees.....Can't remember where his post was, but he reckons any type of Triggerman can set off any type of IED.
  21. Just to be clear.....Were you controlling the Uncons or were they under AI control?
  22. On further reflection, what I'd really like to see is a CM:SF2/CM:BS Civilian & Paramilitary Vehicle Pack.....Considering the type of wars we fight these days, I'd call it a must for the modern titles TBH.
