  1. Yeah the entire website is a work in progress as noted in a different thread.
  2. for those like me that weren't sure where to find em https://www.battlefront.com/shock-force-2/cmsf2-base-game/?tab=screens
  3. It's a LEGO version, been posted before somewhere.
  4. There are some changes in behavior when you do dismounted vehicles and that sort of thing between CMSF and CMBS as an example. It is spelled out in a thread somewhere. It is a very specific use case, but it is different.
  5. only 2 this time so it is the axle of evil. They've been downgraded
  6. This doesn't bode well... https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/north-korean-foreign-minister-heads-to-iran/ar-BBLzt4K?ocid=spartanntp
  7. I know what you mean but for clarity - independent buildings aren't an engine issue. they are content. Everything in the 4.0 engine exists in CMSF2. However not every title has the same content. Independent buildings have been around since CMBN and I think we all really love what they bring to the game, but they are not engine items per se and each title has had a debate about how much goes into them. If it were left up to us that don't make our bread and butter on the game there would likely be a lot more (assuming we didn't bankrupt the company with all our wishes). Whether they get added in later is a whole other question, but the contention that something was left out or lost from CMSF is not accurate nor is it true that things were deleted from the engine. Bringing in the independent buildings would require adapting the UI for the editor, art work for the buildings etc. Granted I do not know how much actual effort that is, but it is effort and the line had to be drawn somewhere. Not necessarily where I might like it to have been drawn, but my yard is not as big as I'd like, my house is not as new as I'd like, my car is not as big as I'd like and my paycheck is nowhere near as much as I would like to get me a retirement date I'd be happy about (today).
  8. why when I was a boy we would belittle people uphill both ways in the snow! And we'd like it!
  9. I would guess #3 is about 1600 hours 7 tanks and a company of infantry......
  10. This thread is getting diverted as bad as all that water in CA causing our fire issues.
  11. Straggler group is more or less units separated from their main body, isolated, leaderless, generally low morale. Think folks escaping the initial German advance in the Ardennes from the 106th, 99th and 28th infantry divisions.
  12. Sorry man... ha kidding! For once I can say yes. That is in. I’d forgotten that CMSF was so limited for that
  13. Wrong I believe in beer on tap! The wine however is in bottles.
  14. Yeah I know, sorry man. I feel like the downer guy at a party trying to keep people using coasters at my parent’s house while they are out.
  15. Customer (singular) has expectations is more like it. And that little minions message was uncalled for.
  16. one last time, temper your expectations.
  17. true, I just don't know what options for what they will be equipped with.
  18. You are already assuming too much. I have no idea what the specialist teams will be, but uncons even in their formations do not include breach teams, scouts etc. That was a general reference.
  19. I honestly don't know how it will appear in it's final form, but formations are how one assigns groups in CM and the formations of the uncons were put in a particular way in CMSF. CMSF did not have an option for specialist teams so that will be new in CMSF2. The extent of those specialists teams will need to be decided by BF, but I would not expect I'd be able to really fill out a formation by taking for example a Syrian Special forces BN and gutting everything but the HQs then assigning specialist teams from the uncons. Specialist teams are generally just what they say - scouts, breach teams and heavy weapons units. You would be stripping out all the small arms teams. It would be cool if you could assign formations to other formation HQs, but that isn't possible in any CM title. In answer to your question yeah there are specialist teams but I don't know for sure what the limits will be. My assumption would be that fundamentally uncons in CMSF2 would not be all that much different than CMSF. Again insurgents while included in CMSF were never intended to represent anything like what we have seen more currently. No matter how much folks want this to be ISIL- it isn't. Think of them more as the Sadr brigade in Sadr city. Various groups both criminal and political with divergent views working in an umbrella for the sake of convenience. There is no Battalion level organization (especially in combat) and trying to draw comparisons to other conflicts or timelines is a complete dead end. The closest they come to coordination is the Minaret speakers shouting Jihad! Jihad!
  20. it has been a long standing issue with urban fighting being unable to target a building. It could be a question of what is obscuring the base.
  21. Dropping a whole crewed armored vehicle... that sounds like a good idea..... Okay we are 5 minutes over the drop zone with possible AA fire- everyone climb into the APC...… what could possibly go wrong? Doesn't the Armata fly anyway?
  22. Actually the target is most definitely not a bug. It is a game limitation. If you can't see a unit to target, you are left with the building and it is a limitation of the engine that you have to have LOF to the base tile. It sucks, but it is what it is.
  23. As noted in a prior thread I had an ATGM kill 2 Challenger 2s firing some 5 rounds and never get spotted. This certainly isn't an uber tank game. As to the rest, well that is something you'll have to decide for yourself. We all have our point of what we consider values worth. Only you can decide what yours is.
  24. I don’t think it is an issue of the engine locking them in. It is a question of a thousand different things folks want and only being able to do 995 but that 5 includes one item somebody is passionate about.
  25. Well having seen some of what has gone into CMSF2 there has to be a line somewhere and unfortunately (or fortunately in the interests of staying focused) I don’t get to choose for them. I think they are long past how much effort this was thought to take and yet they still offered a hefty discount for owners of CMSF. You cant just drop the buildings in, you also have to alter the scenario editor list to include them and probably do other things I am unaware of.
