  1. I did some reading at lunch to catch up, but I still have 30 minutes!
  2. You are asking to change the models across the board for the titles. Honestly don’t see them doing that.
  3. BF has a team of two. If you see an item you "think" is an issue who's job is it to try and see if it is reproducible? It isn't mine I know that much. I might be willing to help, but it ain't my job. If you think Steve or Charles are gonna drop everything for a perceived issue.. well you are entitled to dream. That leaves...….
  4. Profit. BF produces enough for it's owners to be comfortable but as they keep saying it isn't like they are gonna get rich. The big gaming houses go where the money is.
  5. When it gets lased it doesn't know what the system is that lased it, only that someone is targeting it with a weapon that can hurt.
  6. In that vein, this could be a different background story. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/syria-iraq-turkey-may-soon-fight-water-war-report/ar-BBL9J1g?ocid=spartanntp The conflict became so serious that, in 2010, a scenario drawn up by the U.S.-led Western NATO military alliance, of which Turkey is a member, imagined a joint Iraq-Syria invasion of Turkey, according to the Middle East Policy Council. Today, the chance of war-weary Iraq and Syria engaging in such a conflict are slim, according to the Asharq Al-Awsat report, but residents of both countries are increasingly feeling the pain.
  7. It is also not a beta tester job per se either. BF has enlisted folks to test the game and look for stuff, but that doesn't make us the go to guy for anything anyone finds. We are players just like anyone else and our time is no different than anyone else's We don't get to charge by the hour to run huge numbers of tests looking for something that may be an extreme outlier. Any player is just as capable of doing verification as we are. The request for saves is a requirement for BF to even consider looking at it. So if you see something and don't save it, might as well not bother posting about it. Kind of like trying to tell people you saw a UFO but you didn't bother trying to take a pic with that smart phone you were texting everyone to tell them about the UFO you just saw. Beta testers are more than happy to help bring an issue to BF's attention, but it really makes a difference if we have something to start with other than "I saw a UFO".
  8. yeah more a close combat with a wider theater. Definitely an improvement in that genre, but single player only 2d etc not something I see myself considering. And I have to laugh reading the original OP. Fulda Gap and 3 less important regions. Man the folks whose countries were on the North German Plain are probably more than a little put out.
  9. good question, I don't see it anywhere obvious either. This particular rule I know because I got a demerit for doing the same a long time ago. It is also a pretty good general rule, you don't link to a company's competitors on their own site.
  10. Before they had full installers GL was a module you downloaded and installed. Now that there is a full installer everyone downloads GL and only gets to use it if their license includes it.
  11. well fire away, it can't hurt. It does look like you are already running 4.0 though
  12. you are already at 4.0. What do you mean activate it?
  13. From the install patches and upgrades don’t usually include them. Easiest ath is simply download the full installer and reload. The full installer will make sure to loads where it should. My guess is still that when you did your GL install you didn’t specify correctly. You could hunt for wherever they went by just searching on files named GL*.btt. That should find them. Hopefully you should find you campaign files as well.
  14. If you look in your scenarios folder for CMFI do you see any of the GL scenarios? My guess is somewhere is your installation process you installed to the wrong directory.
  15. Man you guys make me feel like a computer whiz and I most certainly am not. When you boot CMBS and you at looking at v2.10 what does the line DIRECTLY underneath it say.
  16. Interesting idea, but as others noted it really limits your ability to play the game as units can't share info with you. You'd have to first of all eyeball the entire battlespace every turn to figure out what you might have seen and if your units become aware of enemy movement you'll have no way to know. The effect would be you moving units into position where they know something is likely there and you don't. You are better off just imposing your own rules and moving units without utilizing knowledge they don't have.
  17. sounds like a plan. You can actually just build your scenarios bit by bit and once you think you have what you want, you can link them. When you get to the point of making the campaign you can decide what is part of your core force or not- i.e. are you telling the story of a unit or of a battle with various units changing from mission to mission. The Allied Market Garden module campaign is an example of missions describing a battle versus a unit. Your description above seems you want to tell the story of a unit and therefore D Coy from 3rd Bat PPCLI would be part of your core forces, but you'll decide that when you get that far. Biggest advice I have is be patient and continue as you are in terms of reaching out to the forum to get feedback and direction. Best of luck!
  18. Not sure where that came from, but that is a hard one to quantify. Vehicle accidents and helicopter crashes were a significant cause of loss of life. There are plenty of "small arms" incidents and some specifically RPG, whether the small arms might also have been RPGs is hard to say, but by July IEDs were starting to ramp up. http://icasualties.org/Iraq/Fatalities.aspx
