  1. Seeing is believing and why some of us are so addicted to wego, it is the only way to catch this stuff.
  2. Yeah that one actually does looks pretty darn good. If they had wego, i’d be on board. RTS for me is a stumbling point but the graphics and play are really nice. Honestly if I was into rts I’d be all over that game.
  3. As a data point and personal opinion, no. This is it I’ve looked at some of those others and beyond just gameplay there is also no real flexibility. The editor in CM is pretty powerful, you can create almost anything you want. As an example in CMSF2 I was able to recreate the formations for the 1st recon as described in generation kill. I can’t thing of any game in this genre that would allow me to do that and build maps, a scenario or even a campaign from it. Not at this scale anyway and you get wego. To be honest I mostly look at other games that may provide options for an operational layer for CM not anything that would be a direct competitor.
  4. yeah slowly dawning My confusion started with the units as I automatically jumped to UI, that is pretty much Mord's specialty and he had done some for CMBN that are usable for CMFI..... I didn't make the leap to models. I gave my old CMBN uniform mods a try and it doesn't work there now either. I forget which version updated the models whether it was 2 or 3. Bummer. I exploded the BRZs for CMBN and CMFI and yeah, the two games still handle it differently as well...bummer. I'll second your request for someone to mod unit patches. I really love having them in game.
  5. a bit more difficult as visually the only thing that you can do is the face. Be cool if there were variations in body types but that would require so much extra animation and model work BF will never do it.
  6. Yeah I use that same denial defense too. Does it actually work for you?
  7. I think we are talking two different things here. Mord doesn't do uniform mods, he does UI icons. @IICptMillerIIis the one who did the CMSF2 uniform patches.
  8. Lol I haven’t even gotten to the insurgents yet! Heh not sure how I feel about some spy running around with a Dead shirt. @mord I don't think those guys pay copyright.
  9. cool, thanks! Blackhawks and Humvees for me are no problem. They(on urban maps which I typically use) would not be visible anyway, but the ship as a back drop I need more distance.
  10. question on these and likely flavor objects in general. What is the distance for LOD on these? Was messing with the cargo ship as a backdrop and it seems it is only visible within a couple blocks of the waterfront. Is that expected?
  11. I think he has some of these already in CMBN. 82nd - by Regt 2nd Armd 1st, 3rd, 9th, 45th Pretty much anything that went on to serve in NW Europe. I am pretty sure he intends to complete his work for CMFI @Mord could confirm.
  12. cigarettes, my bet is on that. At least in WW2 games. The reason the red crosses have a better chance at becoming wia is they aren't suckin on cancer sticks after they've been swiped.
  13. Mord I found a problem with your portraits. I know you really worked hard on them and getting bad news will be difficult. See the problem is I can't decide which portraits to use. There are so many freakin options!!!! How could you do this to us? Uniforms and UI - outstanding work from our modders @Mord& @IICptMillerII Awesome dude Simply awesome and oh yeah both are tagged for this shot. Once I decide on the portraits I like Mord, I'll be tagging yours. I already did the Captain's.
  14. For those of us who have pinned Ramadi, Fallujah, Sadr City, Al Muffawaqiyah, Ar-Rifa, Nasiryah and Tal Afar in Google maps... Iraq starts becoming very recognizable. Good luck on the map. Fallujah is not a very good grid, unlike Sadr City I have tried my hand a little and never felt I could get it right.
  15. Yep that is pretty much what every photo I have seen shows. Same as in the article I linked to. I think I have seen those details of the sniper in one of the Sadr city books I have. One of the interesting ing aspects of the fighting that that article describes but is in more detail in what I read was the whole fight for the market. The insurgents in Sadr were a mix of Sadr loyalists, non Sadr Shia militia and criminal organizations. Moqtada’s authority was far from absolute. As the wall went up the criminal element in particular saw their protection racket threatened and threw themselves at the wall in an uncoordinated frenzy. Each block area in Sadr was nominally independent so the attacks were uncoordinated. The insurgents suffered heavily in the walls construction.
  16. Why would one need a module? A battle pack maybe but anyone can start working on scenarios. No need to wait on BF.
  17. Make sure he only has one round left
  18. That is more in tune with the reality of the actual battle. If you can load the scenarios separately you can then adjust the scenario time for a different experience I think the campaign scenarios are available as individual downloads
  19. Heh for those of us completely uninterested in graviteam, making it more like that is a recipe for not having a game to play. Probably hold likewise for those who play graviteam and aren’t interested in CM. Let each company play to its strength. A hybrid would more likely fail at both.
