  1. Thanks for all the input guys - I will look into this as soon as I get time. Cheers
  2. Could the book be "The Day the Devils Dropped In"? The bunkers in VP are not bigger (I think?) but can now hold AT-guns. I'm trying to make the terrain look like pictures from Merville, with banks of dirt/grass covering the sides of the bunkers and making them blend into the landscape. It is proving to be difficult. Another issue I have not figured out how to handle is that there is no way to simulate bangalore torpedoes to blast mines and I suspect that it will be impossible to have engineers "mark mines" while being shot at. More testing for sure.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Do you recall the re-enactment? Where the bunkers occupied by germans as the paras got there? Do you have the vehicle pack? In that case, would you say that the AT bunkers are a reasonable representation of the real one, granted that you try to embed them?
  4. I had problems with Twitch before. But if you create an excemption for Chris channel in you anti-virus, you should be good to go. Twitch does some kind of continous check that the anti-virus considers a threat and it starts buffering. Hope it helps - it is a lot of fun to watch it live and post in the chat.
  5. Awesome - been missing those in CMFI. Always a treat coming from you. Will make CMFI feel more "whole"
  6. I'm thinking about making a Merville Battery Scenario, so two questions: Is anyone already doing one? Planning one? Any book recommendations, enough detail but not über-groggy?
  7. Yay! Thanks a lot. Great looking "frosty steel" design.
  8. I beseech thee most worthy demi-God for some advice that a mere mortal scenarion designer would need to make that pitiful scenario less pitiful When creating AI-plans, is there some way in 2D to see where units and fortifications (trenches, foxholes) are placed? That would make it a lot easier to "paint" targets for orders. Also, the target for each order - if you make the area large, will the units try to find the best protection/concealment or spread out evenly? Your humble servant and demi-God wanna-be rocketman
  9. I had that issue when MG was released, but thought it had been adressed in a patch. Seems like the problem persists, though.
  10. After playing CM games for almost 10 years I finally decided to try my hand at scenario design and started fiddling with the editor. I must say it is a ton of fun. It adds another dimension to the game and it gives your creative spirit a lot of freedom. And it is truly exciting to see your ideas come into fruition. Having messed around with the editor also makes me appreciate well-made scenarios in a whole new way. Up until now I've been intimidated by the editor, but I would like to urge all those who enjoy playing the game to give it a chance. And in the process of having a new fun tool to play with, the community as a whole would benefit from more scenarios to play. The editor is the same for all CM*2 games, but as it is now scenario design issues are dealt with in the seperate sub-forums. I would like, and I also think it would aid more people who wish to try the editor, that there was a seperate scenario design forum. In it there would be links to video tutorials, guides, discussions how to create realistic maps, villages etc. AI plans and so on. It would also be a place where you can ask for or sign up for play testing. Having everything in one place would IMHO help a lot. What do you think?
  11. Don't fight it - embrace it. It will make the new year a happier one for sure. Best wishes to BFC and all of this wonderful community for 2015.
  12. Umlaut, are your recent snow mods in response to kohlenklau's winter campaign? Are there any more coming up? Will start the campaign soon, but if you're making some more I'll put it on hold for a while. Mods look great
  13. And what about pine needles? An tree burst and that stuff will turn you into a pocupine
  14. Pining for some "piney" pines Mord? Me too - would add realism for sure.
  15. When CMSF was released I didn't have a computer that could run it and I wasn't so interested in modern warfare. But after enjoying CMBN, CMFI and CMRT immensely I will definitely get CMBS. I bet the transition will be hard and probably result in a lot of frustration. But in an enjoyable way. After watching Chris on Twitch last week I realized that BS will punish you hard for any mistake. Spotted first = dead in a few seconds. Not getting the first shot off = instant one hit death. Miss one LOS slightly = KO. But I guess that's what I look forward to the most - having to learn things from scratch in a vastly different setting.
  16. Best gift of the holidays - just finished reading a book on the Ardennes. So looking forward to this (as with all your stuff ) and a nice surprise that it has come long in development.
  17. Think of the birthday as an upgrade And a happy one (beside that "Jesus on the cross" graphics glitch)!
  18. Am I missing something? Checked "My Account" and couldn't find the new installer kit. Base game and all modules are there, but what should I download?
  19. If you try it out vs. AI, please let us know how well it plays. Been longing for a Carentan scenario.
  20. Great. Hassle free installments. Less anxiety about doing something wrong or your anti-virus deciding to mess things up.
  21. Chris, any chance we will see a beta CMBS scenario on Twitch tomorrow?
  22. Tanks that "hide" now with the patch are harder to spot. Does it take long for a hiding tank to get moving again?
  23. Thanks for the update Chris. I guess I'm a little disappointed, but glad that you made the call so that the game is top notch at release. Also, one less excuse for me not to get into scenario design now that I get a three week break from work. I've been meaning to do it for a long time now.
  24. God knows we need it here in Stockholm/Sweden. Just a few hours of daylight . that is, if there is any sun and not cloudy. During November we set an all time low with four hours of sun total during all of the month. It gets to your mood for real.
