  1. do you guys really think a division doesn't have organic artillery and anti-aircraft weapons? no JABO is going to evade a Stinger no towed artillery will survive the counter-battery fire of 155mm shells {EDIT} just because it's called an armor divison doesn't mean it's 100% armor, that is what's fantasy. Armor divisions have thier own mechanized infantry
  2. I doubt that the graphics will keep the user from playing, but the calculations associated with it.
  3. willbell if the smoke is bogging down your computer it's time to upgrade what sells games these days? Graphics and gameplay, a good mixture of both is a game destined for gold. Battlefront is out for a profit, and the hard-core grog with a PC from 1996 as a fanbase isn't conducive to large profits. 1:1 control is not what's happening, it will be similar to Close Combat, EYSA, GI Combat etc. You still control at the minimum a fireteam ( split squad ) but you'll be able to see men take cover.
  4. in CMx2 there will have 1:1 man representation, but it you won't be able to control each individual man as far as I can tell or interpret the command sceme will the the same as Cmx1 with less absolute control over units, but not by much (units themselves area targeting?) .
  5. Well with two 15cm SiG 33 issued per infantry batallion, the only issue is mobility. In CM we can always just buy an 251 or a 7 to tow the monster to where it's most effective in WW2 they tried to do the same as much as possible but as the war progressed it became less and less possible and they had to use horse teams I think it was in mechanized units where the SiG was mounted on Hetzer chassis ( 15cm SiG 33 auf Grille )

STuH42 is my favorite vehicle knocks down buildings fast, knocks out some armor with HE alone and other armor with HEAT I just finished stomping AI ( ehhh... ) much more badly than usual it was snowing very badly and my two platoons of fallschirmjägers were slowed down and then stopped by about 10 armored vehicles ( stuarts and staghounds ) my STuH was traveled around their south flank, they were distracted by the infantry and they had to cross a road, I had my STuH set up to fire across the street, no piece of armor got across I was then able to manuver it to fire it's 10,5cm at less than 100m at enemy infantry, repelling a few close assaults ( never seen the AI do this before ) with the Nahverteidigungswaffe after expending all the MG ammunition, until the STuH was knocked out by a FT team I had passed up in a building sweep with infantry.
  10. viewport firing doesn't work, armored vehicles ( most European ones ) have armored glass behind the viewports pillboxes are really an abstraction, I've never seen a pillbox with such an open firing slit that held cannon. The ones I've seen that contain cannon have a metal plate ( mantle if you will ) to seal the gun room off from the outside. btw close assault by infantry really should be of last resort, until you have the later panzerfausts 60m and 100m infantry are relagated to the ambush role. Exceptions could be made against lightly armored vehicles ( M17s < gamey gamey gamey! )

  13. velocity doesn't make a gun more accurate than another example 75mm L/24 vs 88mm L/56 the 75 is more accurate upto 1000m than the 88
  14. everytime a plane begins a strafing run my 88s try to bring their guns to bear on the plane but it's simply too fast.

Squad leader and assistant squad leader would have MP-40s two LMG teams each consisting of two men, a rifleman and a machinegunner six riflemen with kar98 late in the war one rifleman was eliminated and 2 k/g-43 were issued to each squad, one scoped and one unscoped of course all this is in theory, it all varied IRL, some riflemen may have been issued MP-40s or StGw-44

  17. Flame Thrower teams do really really well in the operation Pionier Kessel fanatic russkie machinegun teams sometimes can only be budged by setting the building they are in on fire
  18. yes, in the Knife fight at Cecinia I had an 88 shell bounce off a Sherman's glacis at 40m
  19. Audie Murphy also used mortar round ( I believe 60mm ) as handgrenades
  20. poppys, you still have to aim. it doesn't matter if you have a semi-automatic firearm that can bang off 8 rounds in 3 seconds, if it's shooting 30-06 and only weights 7lbs or so, and you try to do that you won't hit anything. at 40m it might be like this *point in general direction* BANG X8 at 100m+ it's probably like this *steady* *aim* bang X8
