  1. lines and arshins were abolished during the communist revolution i believe
  2. JasonC German captured large amounts of allied tanks during WWI
  3. If bullets were flying that close to you, I think you would not only notice it, you'd also pick up your assault rifle and defend yourself. </font>
  4. Half-tracks do have their merits, they will tow the heaviest of guns up hills to watch over flags in a recent QB (lots of points i think 2.5k) as the russians, I bought some Malaxa MG carriers to tow three ZIS-3s up a hill, low and behold my opponent had purchased a platoon of Panthers, and two Ferdinands. Naturally he didn't have much infantry, but I didn't have much either because I had bought three platoons of T-34/85s, an OT-34 and two SU-76s ( and two sweet ass Il-2s ) big forest in the middle next to a town in a depression, perfect ambush country, if i get there first. The flag is in a rather anemic forest and my infantry close and occupy the forest just seconds before his infantry ( as I recall we both had a company of infantry, he had Jägers and I had Gaurds ) which erupted in an enormous back-and-forth gun battle which resulted in my victory ( game turned out to be a draw, I lost -all- of my armor ) My OT-34 ambushes one Panther before being taken out by another, the Panthers begin to rush the town in a desperate last push to kill my armor, which works  but my dedicated carriers had moved my guns up a rather spiry rough-covered peak that overlooked the town, which is where the Panthers were at. Two panthers down by 250m side-shots, the other two by the IL-2s My MG carriers also came to the rescue in the woods when my opponent pushed a platoon of Jägers around my weakly defended flank, they repulsed the attack and I fought the bloody battle to a draw thanks to my beautiful Malaxas
  5. the rest have only one LMG this particular one picked up an extra one somewhere inbetween one of the battles ( playing Assault on Leros ) wierd, never seen this before
  6. some mortars are fired by trigger mechanisms
  7. i've only had german RGs work -once- against a Sherman in CMAK
  8. will turret-down concealment be possible?
  9. well from what i've experienced the flex mount for the .50 ( on hummers etc. ) isn't very stable, they're pretty loose when a gun is mounted on them i.e. not lending to accurate fire however that might just be an old gun mount that I'd handled
  10. 16 some of you old timers need to get in gear since when does it have to take one hour to do ten turns ? ( Walpurgis_nacht  ) as if i've anything better to do
  11. they're cheap too, if one IG can knock out one T-34 i'm happy
  12. i think some of you are generalizing waaaaay too much, different tanks and nations had different ways of sighting etc. for example the bow MG on a Panzer III had a telescopic sight the bow MG on a Stuart V didn't have a sight at all, the gunner was to aim with the tracers the bow MG on a T-34 was aimed by iron sights through a small hole in the armored shield of the gun example 2 a vehicle mounted .50 is on a unstable pintle mount ( although some [maybe even most] mounts did include the fine adjustment gear, it would be my guess that to make them fire and acquire targets as quickly as they do in CM this fine adjustment gear was disconnected to facilitate mobility of the gun mount ) a tripod infantry .50 is on a fully adjustable tripod that allows for minute changes in elevation etc. example 3 the half track mounted MG-42 is also on an unstable pintle mount the infantry sMG-42 has a VERY stable tripod that includes recoil-absorbing features to further stablize the mount [ October 18, 2005, 12:16 PM: Message edited by: Denwad ]
  13. waste of time? the video of the soldier taking a 7.62x54r to the chest, getting back up and taking cover is proof enough that it works just fine doesn't weight THAT much, jeeze.
  14. they aren't forbidden everywhere i believe you just can't use them for glorification of past use or some humdrum like that you see Nazi paraphanelia plenty in the museums and on television documentaries.
  15. Does anyone have a couple links with pix of the Syrians training etc.? failing that a screenshot of a syrian in game would be pretty cool too
  16. guns do have rifles, so do flamethrowers and rocket crews but they are abstracted, you can't control their fire they fire at the greatest threat
  17. cavalry units! just like in CMBB, they use horses to move around the battlefield but dismount to fight like regular infantry
