Don't necessarily seem to be always in Panic to do seeming daft things - In the example  I saw  (save file back on Page 2) it was an enemey German HQ unit that dashed out forward into the open bocage field which was indicated to be 'Nervous' - just moments after a colleague got shot) and as the turn ended. 

Well I will be looking at the maps as well.  Terrain impacts the AI.  Elevation tiles do, too.  They can't be overlooked when evaluating a poor AI reaction when under fire.  An AI controlled unit seeks near-by cover and concealment. It might be tall grass or a slight terrain depression.  At the moment of reaction the AI won't always move away from fire, but under it. This is not to say that all is well and eat your broccoli... Beta testers will be looking at it all from more than just one angle. We are listening.  We will be evaluating and we'll let you know.

My Sherman is back online.

While my halftrack is progressing. But, I have made a mistake asking for a Fast move instead of a Reverse one for having the guns toward the last objective.

My tank arrives in position.

On my left flank, Germans are counter attacking.

But, my halftrack once again saves the day.

Before been able to give my orders for next turn, the victory screen appears. Not really a victory... 30 men killed and 20 men wounded mainly due to artillery like in reality.

The last objective would have been hard to obtain but I think my halftrack and my Sherman would have help me a lot.

When used correct, the results are fine. Nothing wrong with the flame thrower, its the person using it. 
Every time something does not work for you does not mean the game has a issue.
To use effectively on the offence, the method that must be used to likely get the results you need is likely one of these two things.
Don't try to take on the enemy in a fire fight, flame throwers must be moved into locations that they receive no returning fire.
Per most military doctrines that is done by smoking the target to allow the flame thrower to move into place. Use smoke correctly and you will get them where you need to get them to go.
Second, I find that I can fire them at area target locations one hex away from the target and get the needed results. So you don't need to expose yourself to the target, if cover is available and you can get target to the adjacent hex you are likely good to go. Also a bust or two on adjacent hex might not do the job, but move that one additional hex right after the bust to target directly on target also will likely work. Flame does a great job of putting the enemy troops into a state that they are not going to recover from quickly.
Try using these methods before saying flame throwers don't work correctly in game.

We couldn't wish for better Allies. And most Dutch soldiers speak German anyway. And a lot of Germans speak Dutch too, I've noticed.
But I have to say one thing. A more independent, stronger and better equipped EU army would be very welcome, but we will always need to remember that we have MUCH more in common with US, Britain and our other present NATO allies than we have with certain other powers. Let's hope the present irritation between these natural allies will disappear if those who cause it also disappear, because nobody is going to benefit from disunity, except our enemies. A lot of propaganda about these days. I sometimes wonder if that also didn't play a role in the Brexit and the alienation between US and Europe. Let's be careful.

Not by accident is the name of this website National Interest (or better US National Interest). Well made propaganda. My personal opinion is that we Germans are not doing enough for our military, because I think, when you decide to have a military force, you have the obligation to train and equip it to the best standards possible and affordable.
But there is a large proportion in our population which is clearly opposing more military spending, maybe due to WW II, the reheating cold war with its nuclear threat here, all the lies they heard from people keen to start a war, e.g. Saddams weapons of mass destruction and some more incidents, never ending conflicts producing even more failed states, the failure to stop terrorism by military means, etc.
That these people have a significant influence on our military spending is a direct result of the democracy the US implemented here (for which we are thankful). So please accept, that this behaviour seems to be in our national interest as defined by democratic processes.
Is here anybody thinking that the US would spend less when Germany spends more? Is not the premier reason for US spending policy the ability to project substantial power which it would do with or without Germany?
But here are the good news: german chancellor, Frau Merkel, expressed that it would be a good idea to have a German aircraft carrier. Wow, I seldom laughed so much before.
 
Back to European Army. EDA is trying to hamonise things and coordinate industrial effort concerning defence matters.
The mixing of units is even going down to battalions, e.g. a dutch/german armored battalion. you've been down this road before. I know folks want an update from Steve about the patch but in all likelihood comments like yours will draw his attention sooner.  He has a low tolerance for Russian whataboutism and excuses for their intervention in Ukraine.  One way or another this thread will head to being closed.  Haiduk posted a factual comment on Russian equipment showing up in Ukraine that is not supposed to be there and it getting possibly hit by an arty strike.  That isn't an  opinion just a statement of events.  Going off on a tangent argument again by both sides as to the politics of being there isn't going to last very long.  Just sayin.

This turn was exciting. To avoid losing my halftrack, I have ordered it to advance a little while I am sending my tank into a search and destroy mission against this armored car.

The armored car is indeed trying to destroy some of my men near the halftrack.

But, the cavalry arrives...

And the unthinkable happens. The Stug III is spotted surely also looking after the halftrack.

Meanwhile, one of my squad in the woods on my right wing is firing with a bazooka against the armored car.

I think that is what we call a near miss. 😕


Luckily for me, my Sherman has seen the Stug III and is aiming at it.

Too late, the Stug III is firing... 😨

But, a micro second later, my Sherman also fires. The two shells are under the green arrow.

Boom!!! Boom!!! Stalemate...

The Stug III is out of order as well as my lonely Sherman...
