  1. Graphically, CMBN cemeteries are not catholic. More of the american/english sort.
  2. Just had another group (9 men) entirely wiped out by 60mm in less than 1 minute , possibly in direct LOS of the mortar team. Maybe the problem is that when the first rounds hit the ground, soldiers should run away. But in game the get pinned down and stay where that are, wich is leading them to their tragic fate.
  3. Compared to CMx1, where light mortars were useful to pin down an ennemy unit, but caused light if any casualties, it seems that the american 60mm mortars are now deadly. I lost an entire group in a couple of minutes to mortars (handled by the AI !). When under mortar fire, units get pinned quickly, unable to react to orders, and start to take one after one casualties until all the group get hit. Is it just me or have the light mortars been changed into one of the most dreadful asset on the battlefield ?
  4. But weren't the shermans in RL capable of going over the lower sort of bocage (exposing their belly) ?
  5. Downloaded it in 30mn from the german mirror site, launched it and had a quick look at the training mission before leaving to work. Looks good. Performance on my computer is excellent with all options set at the highest. Nice to be back in 1944 .
  6. On the other hand the dollar is so weak against the euro )
  7. There is a screenshot of airborne troops here : http://www.appui-feu.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14713&start=40&PHPSESSID=9c8e97daf8a7307ddd7fe9b46e1cf9fe (French combat mission site)
  8. I apologize for the errors in spelling cemeteries in my first post. LongLeftFlank, the look of your muslim cemetery mod is definitely great. Mya i add that despite what i've very of seen in CMx1 maps, cemeteries in France are quite often situated at the edge of towns, instead of adjacent the church in the middle of the town. This is for sanitary and obvious terrain use reasons. Very often , french cemeteries are enclosed by high walls. The fountain objects are a nice addition ; but what is much more common in french villages is the "Monuments aux Morts" (war memorial of 14-18). Even the smallest villages has its own, located in ist very center, usually in the form a statue with a socle where are engraved the names of the dozens (sometines hundreds for larger towns) of men fallen in WWI. This is very characteristic of the french landscape.
  9. On page 122 of the manual, there is a very nice (and usefull) display of flavours object. I think the cemetary objetcs are lacking the horizontal tombstone typical of a french cemetary : as opposed to US cemetaries with only vertical grave stones, i think.
  10. What i don't get is whether, in Elite or Iron mode, by clicking on the ennemy icon you obtain the unit details (tank, infantry...).
  11. For a french sepaker too. There are two different places in Normandy, one called Le Désert (Calvados) South-East of St-Lô, the other Le Dézert (Manche), mid distance between Carentan and St-Lô.
  12. Camo scheme seems identical on the tank on the right (Tank 4) and on the tank at mid distance (in the middle).
  13. Mee too. CMSF is a really great game in terms of gameplay but i couldn't get interested into the fictionnal setting and the unbalanced warfare depite many attempts.
  14. It means that you actually get more info in iron (the blind spots) than in elite.
  15. That is the answer to the issue raised by Pawter. Create a "hardcore" mode with Iron mode FOW + level 1 only map viewing. Not sure how fun it would be.
  16. in french ! Found here with other screenshots : http://www.appui-feu.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14581&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  17. George MC I totally agree, daylight changing is a great feature. I remember the first time i realized that in CMSF that the sun was actually rising on the battlelfied; i couldn't believe it and thought it was my imagination. Then minutes passed and it became obvious that the morning daylight was starting to light up the map, shadows changed and i was amazed! This is the only game i know offering the feature.
  18. I quite agree but it does add to the immersion. No big deal , i was asking just because from Steve's post i'm under the impression that the ground conditions do change!
  19. "ground conditions can now change over the course of a single battle, so after heavy rainfall ground may become muddy, for a real tangible tactical effect in armored battles" Does this mean that the weather itself can change over the course of a battle (from rain to overcast for instance ?)
  20. First time i see screenies that actually look like Normandie. Good work.
  21. World of Tanks graphics does a good job for armor rendering. Sharp and smooth at the same time.
  22. Hi, I've similar specs and the games runs fine, and yes the game has been fixed and plays very well.
  23. Thank you for the feedback, Blackcat, very much appreciated !
