  1. Meet the Queens is my favourite until now (Desert, all types of play).
  2. Another vote here for PBEM. I must have played one AI game in 2001 a couple of minutes after i installed the game, since then it has been hundreds of PBEM. I've met several of my PBEM opponents in real life.
  3. It's difficult to write a review when you're not a native english speaker. I suspect this might be the reason why many people don't review.
  4. I've always been asking myself, when selecting a HQ for a AT guns battery, what the most beneficial bonus. Personnaly the double morale bonus is my preferred for towed AT guns. They are very exposed to ennemy tank fire so the longer the guns are able to shoot (before being pinned dowwn) the best are their chances. What do you think ?
  5. After a major Window crash, i lost a CMBB sound mod that was on my PC ; it was definitely excellent, i wish i could install it again. It was a very professional work, downloadable under the form of a auto-install executable. Does someaone have any idea were i could find it ? (i can't remeber the authors name)
  6. I'm just finishing to play it in PBEM, double blind. Excellent scenario i must say, one of my favourite until now ! Nice map and excellent tactical situation. (Be sure during the set-up to view the ENTIRE map, wich i didn't so i missed some of my troops).
  7. Ditto, that was an extraordinary scenario too !
  8. It was true of the very early scenarios. Things have greatly improved since, as the authors have learned from experience.
  9. The crew with a parachute randomly lands on the map. If you're lucky, you are able to capture it.
  10. Motard is modern. WWII era term is motocycliste.
  11. I had the same problem in a scenario. Ending at turn 26 instead of 38... reason unknown
  12. I played Opening Moment in PBEM as the Germans, and won a major victory (my opponent surrenderent at turn 86, otherwise it would have been a tactical. Good show from the Tigers, two of them abandonned after immobilization by small caliber guns. They led the convoy and blasted almost anything that was trying to interfer with their advance. They left the road and turned right toward the big flag (not the last one, the one before). I was quite worried to let them go off road because of the ground conditions but finally it went right. According to my opponent, the battle can be quite frustrating for a human Russian player.
  13. Elite 88s in CM are extremely fast, and deadly accurate. They probably can reach 10 shots per turn. [ July 03, 2004, 07:28 AM: Message edited by: Thin Red Line ]
  14. But here the gun isn't damaged, only the crew is reduced to 4 (and anyway they don't need a driver as the vehicule is immobile...). Leaving the safety of the armor isn't necessarily a good idea when a ennemy flak gun barks in the vincinity. Well... i guess i can't control everything. No iron cross for them !!!
  15. In Opening moment , a Kursk Pack scenario, i noticed in two occurences a strange behavior from my Tiger tanks regular and veteran crews. If they have lost a crew member to sharpshooters and if later the tank is immobilized (track hits) by small caliber guns, like 45mm or flak, the crew abandons the tank. No other danger is visible and the beast are supported by grenadiers. Is it logic to abandon a steel monster with 50+ 88mm HE and AP shells, loads of MG ammo simply because its is immobilized ? What do you think ?
  16. The german HT (251 type) show an MG mounting device on the rear, but CM seems to model only the front weapon, behind the shield. Wasn't the other emplacement used ? Or was it intended to be used by the embarked infantry personal weapons ? If it was modelled, it would certainly give extra punch to the german vehicule, in comparison of the allied armored troop transports, heavily armed with the .30 or .50 cal. or even both.
  17. The Battle of Normandy Museum in Bayeux is the best around. Tons of various equiment and weapons.
  18. It was actually a church (built by Louis XIV) later converted into a a tomb for Napoleon. Where did you see one ? In Normandy ?
