  1. Separate EW levels can be set for each side.
  2. Do you have a save game file? We need the file from before this happened so the turn can be replayed.
  3. I suspect the confusion is because the weather is "heavy snow" but the ground condition is "light snow". In QBs two of the snowfall settings have to share a common ground condition since there are four of the former but only three of the latter, if that makes sense. Unless the weather really is set to light snow in which Bil is indeed confused.
  4. That's what each VL is worth in this particular game. This is a Probe QB so there is a pool of 500 points that gets divvied out to the 4 VLs. But the value of the VLs are weighted differently and so those 500 points are disributed unevenly.
  5. T-34/85 should get occasionall frontal penetrations out past 1000m but closing the range to within 800m will up your chances considerably.
  6. Took this near sundown a week ago. I swear those shadows were every bit as blue to the naked eye as they are in the pic. Apparently this is a real thing. I agree that snow in sunlight is never grey unless polluted.
  7. They actually do (DON'T TELL BIL ) Panthers, Tigers and King Tigers have better tactical mobility than any US tank except for the Shermans with HVSS suspension, e.g. Easy Eights. It says so in the unit UI. However, Jagdtigers and Sturmtigers are not quite as nimble.
  8. Everything about that story sounds unusual, but without a save file it's just an anecdote.
  9. Great information! There is a fair amount of what-if or speculative equipment in Black Sea. I don't think there is any more reason to remove these vehicles than the T-90AM or M1A2 Abrams with APS.
  10. Yes, I've been using this quite a lot recently
  11. Trees in the flight path of any guided ground-launched missile in the game have a high probability of causing that missile to fly off course. Except for Javelins. I'm not saying that's necessarily how it works in reality, I'm saying that's how it works in the game. You asked what happened. That's what happened.
  12. Only Charles knows. There is some randomness, however.
  13. Need specifics. Need specifics. Solutions? Solutions?
  14. It looks like the tank was firing AT-11 missiles and they flew off course because of trees in the flight path.
  15. That Soviet test needs to be viewed within the context of the conditions under which the plates were tested. Not only were the plates struck a multitude of times but the Soviets ran the tests after removing the gun mantlet which would have significantly reduced the front turret plate resistance due to edge effects. The amount of spalling any hit would have produced is debatable but it is highly improbable that an IS-2 could frontally penetrate a KT at 2.5-3km. At 2500 meters Soviet 122mm APBC penetrates 118mm of RHA, That is about equivalent to Soviet 85mm at 600 meters, US 76mm at 500 meters and US 90mm at 1750 meters. None of this says much about the mantlet. My rough guess calculations puts the mantlet resistance at about 260mm after armor quality modifiers. No Soviet projectile could penetrate that at any range, although hits on the side of the mantlet on the portion covering the cannon may go through as could British 17 pdr APDS and US 90mm HVAP.
  16. Yes, but with one exception. Units with a Hide order will unhide to fire with a Target Arc.
  17. In my experience the guys outside have the longer life expectancy...
  18. They do. I run into this all the time, also with trees I want to take cover behind that are on an action spot border. I just guess and hope for the best.
  19. I didn't watch the videos but I think the gist is true. But there are a couple of caveats. One is that it is likely to be at least marginally less true in future versions of Black Sea. The other is that urban terrain is ubiquitous in Black Sea battles.
