Joking aside, I'm just glad to still be in the game. This map doesn't really allow Bil to show his prowess. It's pretty much a slugfest, which allows me to have a better chance to win than if this was actually a game that showcased skill.

Not so fast, it is MY birthday (yeah really, go figure) and this is how you go about it correctly.  The tie dye banner is out and the band is playing. Ain't nothing patriotic about cat scratch fever or stranglehold.

I just opened the QB purchase screen and for the 5350 popints you get you cant buy much actually. I would purchase the following setup:
 

 
Note: all units are Regular, High, Fit, 0 Leadership, Mortars are On Map. Of the T-90s, 3 are Veterans.
The Tunguskas and the 2 additional T-90AMs are purchased as Single Vehicles, the Air Controller as specialist team. Also dont forget the Zala at the bottom! It' s worth it.
 
EDIT: Someone is certainly going to comment on my choice of a BTR-82A based formation instead of a BMP-2/3 one. I chose the BTR-82As because they are simply about 50-70% cheaper than their tracked cousins and the only real drawback they have compared to the BMP-2 is the lack of ATGMs. The map also looks like there is going to be a lot of close combat/MOUT happening, so Doug probably wont miss the ATGMs anyways. I think he is better off with 3 Infantry platoons in BTR-82As and 5 T-90AMs instead of 2 platoons in BMP-2s and 3 T-90AMs.

Bunch of PC crap especially if a flag is being used in a historical context! Govt buildings may be one thing, but historical games? I wouldn't be surprised if ww2 games depicting the Nazi flag are next in the cross hairs. After that ww2, and civil war movies will have to delete scenes where any flag in a historical context is shown because it may offend some one. Madness!, and i have no attachment to either one of those flags.

Apple is, IMO, playing the nanny company, as opposed to the nanny state, because the Stars and Bars have become a big deal and not just in South Carolina. Frankly, I find what Apple's doing to be both Orwellian and perverse, throwing history down the Memory Hole for the sake of PCness. History is history, however inconvenient, awkward of humiliating (insert examples here). And I find it insane that Apple would remove games depicting the Confederate flag in its proper historical context. If we're going to embark on this slippery slope, we can kiss (insert long list here), pretty much any major historical power's emblems goodbye. Let's face it. There's hardly a group on the planet that hasn't been repressed at one point or another. Using Apple's "logic," any game based on conquering falls under the rubric of prohibition, right? Then, it should also ban any game based on exploitation of non-renewable natural resources, too. Obviously, that's environmental rape. Exploration games are out--for a laundry list of reasons. Chess is warfare pure and simple, as any number of accounts will confirm. At the rate things are going, Apple may well be manning the barricades over Chutes & Ladders! I hope people blister Apple over this craven move.

I was waiting in that Godzilla clip for the red cross to appear when he killed the other creatures.  It didn't.  I am sooo disappointed.

I got your '80s right here, son...only played by a young, pretty girl. :-)

He has a follow up video to compare to on a real guitar (I feel a sin coming on).  It lends credence to the walmart video being real.  and yeah he is good.

If your squads are split into teams, then short waypoints won't slow you down too much. Troops don't actually "pause" at each waypoint so much as just "wait for everyone to arrive" before moving on. Small teams don't have to wait as long because instead of waiting for 13 guys to get in position, you only have to wait for 4 or 5.
You'll lose maybe 5 seconds every minute, which is relatively insignificant. If you need to move fast, plot a series of short [Quick] moves with a 5 second pause at each waypoint. Your troops will move fast, but not become too fatigued. It also works to reduce fatigue while using [Hunt], using 3 AS length waypoints with 10 second pauses will ensure you can cross vast distances using [Hunt] without your men getting exhausted.
It is slower than running straight to your destination, but it's a heck of a lot safer when contact is imminent.

This thread comes up every so often, its is nothing more than a wish for something that will never happen, more of a wish than a complaint.

Some wish that the CMBB style of play would come again and that somehow they could get a updated game that looks great and covers the whole war in one game just like they had back then. The fact is, No matter what, no game like that will ever be sold again with that much scope. And no in truth, they never can be satisfied with CMBB really. Because even though it is their favorite game, it is outdated, it shows it and there is all the short comings that cannot be overlooked and nothing to ever hope for in them getting fixed. Stuck with a outdated imperfect game and no hope for a updated similar game - now do you see the wish.

Of course we have the same problem with CMX2 fans that keep wishing to somehow get mods and add ons to just go on forever to somehow get the scope of the whole war as we did with CMBB. But again it is a wish that will never come true. The product just is consuming too much time and man hours to create the periods that it will be outdated and have lost interest and sales to ever see the company provide such a thing. So again a wish that will never be seen.

So we have two camps that love to debate and voice their hopes for the future of the game, and in truth neither will ever happen.

So deal with what is available and accept your lots in gaming lives and learn to enjoy what you have and is available and maybe just make your wishes more realistic

As you can see there is only a slim area of consensus on "general" house rules.  Usually when you ask such a question the rule set gets bigger and bigger and more stuff gets added and before you know if you need to have a decoder ring and know the day of the week to figure out what is allowed
 
I'll play by any reasonable set of rules you might want to suggest as long as there is a discussion first.  Frankly the only one rule that is not really negotiable is the no artillery attacks on setup zones for attackers or during meeting engagements.  BTW Reasonable means short and simple and that are intended to make the game more fun.

  Play that for your pixeltruppen and there is no way you will lose!!!      You'll have trouble reigning them in though.
