It has been suggested by others on this forum that Experience levels affect only rate of fire and accuracy and that setting these to Green for nearly all infantry regardless of real experience, yields more realistic ROF and accuracy.
Motivation affects willingness to stay put or move under enemy fire and thus this is the more important parameter for charging across the causeway when both sides are shooting less and less accurately. The players referenced above,  also suggest that any value higher than 'normal' yields behaviour that is significantly braver than normal higher than 'real normal' and even perhaps, that 'normal' is rather exceptional.
I have taken their comments at face value and used Motivation and leadership values to be the primary distinguishing factor between troop types.
And because this matter might be erroneous or at least debateable, I have created two separate revisions.
Have I tested the impact? No. Not going to. Just put it out there as an 'option', one of three if including the original.

Speaking as a Bradley infantry guy. I'll have to disagree with the ground war could have been won with APCs part. I was with 1st Armored at Medina Ridge, and that was a hell of a fight. The Air War cleared the way for us, But it was the Ground War that finished the Iraqi military.

Yes, still working on this. 😀 Can anybody help me with the Soviet OOB at the beginning of November 1944 in the Goldap/East Prussia sector? I think it must have  been units of the 31st Soviet Army that took this town at the end of October 1944, but which ones exactly? Even better would be to know which Soviet units defended the town against the counterattack by the German 5th Panzer division and 50th Infantry division.
    Much appreciated.

Vergeltungswaffe reacted to Butschi in Automatically generating CMBS maps from OpenStreetMap with CMAutoEditor
For those of you who don't visit the general CM2 scenario and mod section regularly: CMAutoEditor now has a CMBS profile, enabling or improving using the OSM part with CMBS. CMAutoEditor is a tool that for generating maps from elevation data and OpenStreetMap and automatically "importing" them into CM (via automatizing clicking 😉).
As an example @TheFriendlyFelon kindly allowed me to show the preview of near Robotyne, Ukraine for his upcoming campaign.

You can find more examples as well as support in the general CMAutoEditor thread.

    I just released CMAutoEditor 2.3.
    https://github.com/DerButschi/CMAutoEditor/releases/tag/2.3
The main feature is a new profile, CMBS.
In addition there are a few QoL and performance updates.
Default foliage and ground settings: This was actually ninja-added earlier but I slightly improved the feature and added made it possible to switch them off. If you either add entries with tags ["default", "ground"] or ["default", "foliage"] and set their priority to -999, you can use these settings to replace the default tile mixture you get when starting a new map. I personally don't always like the patches of yellow grass and like to have a random tree in there every now and then. Every other item on that position will overwrite the default settings. Brush sizes: For things like ground tiles and some others (where appropriate), CMAutoEditor now uses larger brush sizes if possible. This greatly speeds up e.g. large areas of farmland. Minimum pause now selectable in GUI. This parameter is the minimal pause between two actions (e.g. clicks) in CMAutoEditor. If you encounter CMAutoEditor leaving out tiles that should be there (most likely visible when setting elevations on Steam), increase this parameter. Improved post-processing. The post-processing is the final step before writing results of osm2cm to file. If there is conflicting content for a tile, it takes care of properly sorting it out w.r.t. priority settings. It sometimes produced weird results and generally didn't communicate much. While working better now it may also be slower, so if you experience an excessive increase in processing time, let me know. Fixed a few bugs and missing features for selecting bounding boxes when running osm2cm. This significantly improves using osm2cm standalone, i.e. without loading a grid file from dgm2cm. Enjoy!

Tonight, I have finished the „Partisans Land“ Campaign 👍🏻
With the final version, it consists of 7 single missions.
The Player will command Axis security units, SS-Pioneers, Grenadiers of an special Assault-Battalion and soviet volunteers of the RONA-Brigade…
I hope, there will be one more volunteer for the final testrun of this campaign 🙏🏻

Up to now, 4 of the 5 campaigns of the BattlePack are running as a Betaversion 👍🏻
The 5th campaign will hopefuly follow within the next two weeks.

Special thanks to all the great testers, who are fighting their way through the desperate summer of 1944 at the moment 🙏🏻👍🏻
Without your help, this huge project wouldn‘t have been possible!

Vergeltungswaffe reacted to PT_Belt_Hero in Campaign idea/Work in Progress: "Golden Cross"
Hello, I am currently am working on a campaign for Black Sea. totally new to the scenario editor and learning as i go.
The campaign has the player command core units of the U.S. Army National Guard 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. It's unofficial nickname being "Golden Cross". This brigade actually had elements of it deployed to Ukraine prior to the 2022 invasion advising and training the Ukrainian army under the name "Task Force Illini". The brigade is based in the state of Illinois under the Illinois Army National Guard.
My goal is to have the player follow the journey of this brigade and preserve it as best they can to get it through its tour on the eastern front. I liked how I got attached to the various units of Task Force Thunder in CMSF2, following A, B, and C companies of the stryker units and trying to preserve the pixel truppen through the war.
Background: 2025, The Ukrainian army is worn down and has lost most of its professional contract servicemen, the vast majority of the army is mobilized conscripts with an average age of 45. The US government is unwilling to allow a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, and decides to commit American troops under the premise of preventing RU from gaining a foothold in Europe. Unfortunately for the US, they have also deployed troops to the middle east again and are also preparing for a fight for Taiwan after significant signs China is about to invade. This leaves the US stretched thin with its active duty force. Desperate to avoid a draft, the US begins to mobilize the National Guard to fill in the gaps. The entirety of the 33rd Infantry Brigade is one of those brigades selected. The brigade had recently finished its culminating training exercise known as JRTC and is considered "ready" to deploy during its availability window. The 33rd will relieve beleaguered Ukrainian brigades and is expected to hold static positions due to the Ukraine theater commander hesitant to commit National Guard brigades to offensive action.
33rd IBCT Order of Battle (open source info) core units
    2-106 Cavalry squadron
    3 Infantry Battalions:
    2-130 INF RGT
    1-178 INF RGT
1-196 INF RGT (Puerto Rico Army National Guard)
    766 Brigade Engineer Batallion
2-122 Field Artillery Rgt (1 BN, 3 Batteries)
State of the Brigade:  The majority of the GWOT vets have gotten out so all of the battalions are "green", this will be most soldiers first combat deployment. The battalion cmdrs and Platoon sergeants are "veteran" to reflect soldiers that stayed in and have deployments under their belt. the 33rd faces recruiting and retention issues like the rest of the US army, all of the battalions are at varied levels of being understrength. The war's are unpopular with the american public and the US is struggling to retain and recruit people. The brigade also suffered a series of AWOLS after news of its mobilization hit the force.
The Campaign so far: the condition of the eastern front worsens, it is decided to send in the 33rd to conduct offensive action on its assigned sector of the front. The player will face the understrength 200th MRB, which is set to "conscript" experience to reflect the brigade's destruction in 2022 and subsequent reconstitution.
1st mission "Tow the Line":  elements of A Trp 2-106 CAV conduct reconnaissance on positions of the RU 200th MRB.  The players ability to spot and call artillery on the RU force will determine the condition of the RU positions in the next mission when the infantry assaults.
2nd mission: "Blackhawk Batallion": elements of 2-130 infantry conduct an attack against RU trench lines after recon by the 2-106. player will have the brigades Arty battery in support. This mission will show the current reality of trench warfare in Ukraine. with the 2-130 having to take two trench lines from the enemy.
3rd mission: "Hold the Line": Player will have to hold the captured trench lines, facing an initial wave of RU disposable infantry (Storm-Z, Wagner prisoners). Follow on waves will be RU VDV in BMP 3s. This is to reflect current observed russian tactics of "recon" of positions with disposable infantry and then attacking weak points with dedicated assault infantry.
overall, I want the campaign to be brutal but also fun. I've tried to balance things by making the RU force severely understrength or at conscript status, at least for static positions. The player will face more experienced forces when terrain is taken. The player will have limited or no replacements, to reflect the US having not set up the infrastructure of a combat replacement system due to no draft in place.
I welcome any suggestions or questions!

COMING SOON! "Operation Coup de Main" should be done for Christmas. As of today all individual (12) scenarios have been completed and tested 'free standing'. Appear to play okay. Tested in both "scenario author" and "iron" modes. Campaign compiles okay after discovering that one should not substitute the word 'and' with '&' in the syntax. The next and final phase begins tomorrow and will consist of evaluating if the Refit, Repair, Restore and Rest values strike an appropriate balance between the situation and game flow.

The Guvmint Building team have their dick skinners in the air!

Now they wave the white flag of surrender. Another building of the 5 has fallen. That makes 2 of 5 in NKPA possession. I can only lose 1 more or lose the game.

    Gary gets another flag!

NKPA Sgt Kia creeps along under fire.

The Post Office team goes postal? Orders: "Exit the building and proceed to the designated new location." BUT NOT OUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!

A butt ton of North Koreans are headed towards the defenders...

I marked it with an NKPA flag...
He moves a tank over to mid-field north of the Guvmint Building that hands out free kimchee. My guys in there are in panic mode. That leaves the Post Office, School and Police HQ. I managed to grab ammo from a few trucks and am getting organized to try and defend a little longer. I did get a bazooka round off earlier but it when high and exploded in the branches of a tree.

    Headed to the office so...

Just created my first CM scenario that I am publicly sharing. It is for CMSF2.
I wanted to try and recreate The Battle of 73 Easting from Desert Storm in 1991. It is meant to be a historic simulation and the Iraqi's of course are meant to lose. I gave them the base level T-72m1 (early) while the US has M1A1HC's.
You can find the download link on discord here
Let me know what you think. It's pretty quick and just meant to be a good time.

I believe that the German vehicles in the snow file is finished because the rest of the vehicles already have their textures. Not all vehicles appear in FI in winter. I'm going to check BF and RT to see if there are any missing but I think not. Importing textures from other titles into FI is a bit boring because you have to look for them one by one in the data folders (for example all SPW, Grid, Hummel etc...). I'll do that soon to put them in a file at Bootie's.

Section IV in ‘Panzer Helps You!’ covers the mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagon (Sd.Kfz.251), known as the m.S.P.W. or just S.P.W. To provide context I have included a couple of primers regarding the Sd.Kfz. 251 and German SPW advice on correct use and deployment of SPW.

I understand the impatience. I really do. We all want our new toys sooner rather than later.
But my day job is testing software, and I've dabbled in a bit of programming in the past. So please trust me when I say it's not a good idea to rush these things. Some bugs are harder to squash than others. Some features are harder to work in than expected, and will frequently cause new bugs. It's always better to wait for a good product than to get a rushed piece of garbage. There is plenty of Combat Mission already out to keep us busy in the mean time.
I believe everyone at Battlefront is probably working diligently. Battlefront releases have always been slow. In part I expect that's a result of the limited resources they've always had to work with, and in part that's just because properly developing and testing any product takes time. But the releases have always come. We will get our new toys when they're ready.
