SO AGREE, I THINK THAT THE POINT STRUCTURE SHOULD BE TOTALLY ADJUSTABLE BY THE PLAYERS.

How ever they want to do it is fine with me. But I hate the restricted set ups they have now.

But with Upgrade 4.0 still using the outdated CMx2 engine i doubt we will see much improvement in key areas.
Instead on focusing on keeping the old car driving through the addition of a new oil filter, a spoiler and new tires it would be time to move on and invest into a new car.
If money or know-how is the problem...well there is kickstarter, i think we all would support you.

Another thing i dont like is that we now have it Official, the bulge game will only include "minor" changes.
No new trench/foxhole system. No significant gameplay enhancements, no fix for long standing technical issues.

Very nice to hear after the info drought we've had. Sounds like a lot of great stuff headed our way. And very cool to see that CMBN is still getting love even though it was basically done. The future of CM is looking very bright.

Definitely true, you will never make some complainers happy, because they are only as long as they can complain. And guess, what, if single soldier placing was there, they would complain for "too much micromanagement"

Dang Jargon that was so deep and good I want to give it TWO thumbs up.  It's like I just climbed a mountain to meet a guru and heard the words of wisdom.  Although I gotta admit I kinda already knew those particular things (not that I follow them   Anywho great post and appropriately positioned if you catch my drift.

Wisdom comes with time.  I would really like it if everyone would update their profile with their age, might be interesting what kind of patterns we would find.  I'm going to update mine if it's not already.

i just want to say that i don't share your opinion that its ok to share your views/standings/opinions/decisions  on certain things and then lock the thread so that your word is last. i don't belive in publicity ,it doesnt make you 1% bigger
 
also i don't really experience your thread locking as something like ' i am owner of this place and i do what i want, i know i am right and i dont have time/nerves to argue with people who have no idea what they are talking about'

I'm trying to read between the lines here, is having arguments and criticism dismantled and countered point by point somehow painful to read so you want it to stop? People resort to the fanboy-card when they run out of things to say, which is why they are laughed at.
 
Many people here have close ties with BFC, so having someone with vague knowledge on the subject walk in and start insulting people you know is annoying. This is very normal and rational human behaviour. Ignorance and arrogance isn't exactly beneficial.
 
Hyperbole: 10 years ago this place didn't remind me of Tumblr. Not that it existed back then, fortunately.

Plenty of people manage to criticize the game without being passive-aggressive.

I think you confuse criticism with tact. Apparently people are only "critics" if they are obnoxious or pushy. But you are right ,we do need guys around that have good ideas and critiques...just with less attitude and pessimism.
 
And yeah, I am gonna buy whatever they put out (because I enjoy the game and system), push for changes where needed or wanted, and patiently wait for the engine to evolve like I have done for the last 7 years.

And there's just as many of us that disagree with you. The advances might not be as quick as I'd like but to deny they are there is preposterous and to label them minor little fixes/features is opinion. But saying the game has been at a stand still since 2007 is complete and utter crap—poop laden hyperbole for the sake of poop laden hyperbole.
 
This is why, after dozens of your little snipes over the past six months or so, you end up with these types of replies. The pessimism and willful ignorance gets really old. Take your ideas and desires and try putting them in a more positive tone and drop the dramatics and you might get somewhere. In the end we all want the same thing but there are better ways to go about it—Greek tragedy seasoned with fallacy does not help further the discussion and never will.

Ohh, Battlefronts business model! We havent discussed that for at least a month or so. This just never gets boring it seems.

Off topic? Maybe. But I've just copied Wiggum's coding and, using my beta status, I sent it to Charles. I expect we'll be hearing the world-wide echo as Charles slaps his forehead and yells "D'OH!" I wonder how he'll feel knowing he's wasted all the time before now?

Mord, your CMBN American voices mod is the single best mod for a CM game I've run across -- and I use a lot of mods.  Thanks again for your work on that one!

Hell no...THAT  was the reason I spent two different holidays screaming into a microphone! I couldn't do the Germans but I sure did my best on the American voices in CMSF and BN. I HATE those rehashed US CMBO voices....I got to the point where if I heard another "did you see that?" or "MY ARM!" I was gonna hang myself.
 
BTW I just looked at my CMBN mod...that sucker has been DLed 1254 times. I'm FAMOUS!
 
EDITED: Ah you meant just the yells...well actually all the voices except for the Syrians (and anything in CMA) are rehashed CMX1 stuff. What makes the US so annoying is that they have been in BO, AK, SF, BN, FI, and BS.
