  1. I would simultaneously crap my pants, pee on my keyboard, have a panic/asthma/heart attack, develop a hernia, slip a disc, pull a muscle, break a leg, sneeze and stub my toe if they ever announced that. It would be a joyous and yet quite painful day. Probably worth it as long as I could play from my hospital bed. Mord.
  2. LOL. "Shock Force". Yep, there's definitely a difference between Black Sea and SF1. You'll have more of a challenge playing the US side this time. Some argue not enough, but you'll notice a difference. Mord.
  3. They've gotten progressively nicer since FI. Black Sea, Red Thunder and Final Blitzkrieg were absolutely exceptional on release. And with SF2 the only major mods I've installed (besides effects type stuff) are Kieme's buildings. I think I am only using one vehicle mod. They did great work on it. Nice vid, btw. That's subjective. You don't have to do anything. Whatever amount of mods you have installed is because you wanted them. There are a lot of people who don't use mods. However, I think Reshade can remedy a lot of stuff people find objectionable with no modding whatsoever. We've come a long way since SF1 and CMA and even CMBN in my opinion. Mord.
  4. Ahh, ok so it shouldn't be too much of a "shock" to your system then. But I will tell you now, Black Sea will spank you when you make mistakes. Red Thunder will be more forgiving. Quite a difference in that 70 year gap. Mord.
  5. I am right there with you! My favorite franchises now are Combat Mission, Field of Glory II (including Pike & Shot and Sengoku Jidai) and Total War. I drug my feet about getting FoG II for over a year but watching lots of YouTube play throughs and reading some in-depth reviews and forum posts finally decided it. I talked to my father the day after my birthday and he asked me what I wanted and I said Steam wallet funds, so I ended up getting some good stuff and FoG II was at the top of the list. The end of 2018 and beginning of 2019 have been the most excited I've been gaming-wise in years. It pays sometimes to be late to the party. Yes! I've been checking every day to find out what it's gonna be. I am so enamored with the game I'll be happy no matter what it is. Part of me wants more ancients and part of me wants them to forward the time frame. I am chomping at the bit for the Crusades but that's probably a couple DLCs away, which is fine. I am REALLY hoping they'll add some siege rules at some point, even if they are basic. There's so much they could do to expand the awesomeness. But I haven't even scratched a scratch on a scratch on the tiniest tip of the iceberg so I have plenty to keep me occupied with the base and four DLCs. I am drowning in content and loving it. Mord.
  6. Thanks. funny, I was looking at the dates when they first started the thread and that's about when I first saw the game and completely dismissed it as stupid (just like I did with CMBO) and a year or so later here I am. The art really turned me off when I first saw it. I thought the bust look was idiotic. For some reason I caught some game play videos a few months back and man after that I was hooked. Been dying to get it ever since. I am absolutely in love with the art style now. I think this one is gonna be gnawing at me for a long time. I have that same feeling of excitement as I did with CM too. The battles are so visceral and the stories that come out of the game play are just crazy cool. The depth is deceiving. They just announced a new DLC today! They're gonna be adding a Nordic/Rus inspired faction. I hope they make twenty more, the game is that good. I'd love to see them add Arab and Oriental and/or Samurai style factions later on. The pseudo historical feel and low-fantasy is really a great selling point for me. I am digging the grim, medieval Germanic atmosphere. For any of you guys that are fans of The Black Company books. THIS is your game! Mord.
  7. Long hiatus since when? CMBB? Or CMAK? Or Shock Force? If you haven't played since the CM1 engine, Black Sea is gonna be quite an experience. Mord.
  8. Awesome. Added to my favorites. Thanks for the links! Mord.
  9. @Erwin It's fun to do but it can get mentally exhausting after a while, especially when the art isn't working out the way you want it to. I'll be good after some time away (it's always like this). I got some cool games at Christmas (thanks MJ!) and for my B-day (belated) so I am excited to have some new genres/styles to play. They are a nice change of pace. I have a few games now that are right up there with CM on my love-o-meter. Field of Glory II is the biggest surprise so far, though it shouldn't have been considering I like Pike & Shot and Sengoku Jidai. That whole rules system is like a more relaxing version of Total War. I have completely fallen for it. They could make DLC for the next ten years and I'd get every bit. And HOLY CRAP, my brother got me Battle Brothers on Steam and it is just KILLER! I LOVE the art style and the game play is really deep. So, I'll be chopping but it'll be heads instead of wood! Mord.
  10. My nephew's no longer need to ^%&$ themselves sideways. My family has returned themselves to good standing. Mord.
  11. Hey, Thomas. I haven't done any work on it recently because I'd switched gears to work on CMSF2 portraits. But I do have more done than when this thread was last updated. I am a bit burned out right now so I haven't been modding at all lately. I needed a break. Just got Battle Brothers and all the FoG II DLC for my birthday so I am gonna be doing some non-CM gaming for a bit. Hopefully I will have it done before the module comes out. Don't worry though, I will finish it. I am not one of those guys that abandons my mods once I announce them because I don't want to disappoint people. I just need to recharge my creativity and relax for a while. Mord.
  12. My brother just pulled it off. But only after I emailed him with a cryptic insult LOL. Any other birthday and I wouldn't have cared. But I figured they'd mark this one. Least my old man remembered. He never forgets. My two nephews can go *&^% themselves sideways. Thanks, my man. Thanks, Rok! Mord.
  13. Every Date I Had In High School. (Campaign name) And a serious name, North Dallas Forty. Mord.
  14. OOPS! Sorry. You said "A". It's in CMFB. Duh! Whomever gave me the +1 take it away. I don't deserve it! Mord.
  15. Thanks, my friend. Just keep playing CM and you will be! Thanks, man. And sorry again for the misunderstanding about the Syrian Mds files! Mord.
  16. Thank ye, kind sir. Get the sacrifice drunk, then burn'em. Thankya, brother! I already signed up for the infantry for my fortieth birthday. It didn't work out too good though, obviously. Thanky. I wish it were my 30th again, but with the twenty years of extra knowledge and beardliness! Mord.
  17. It was a premature birthday-lation. LOL. I am having a day, alright. I already did that when they released Win 10 about a year after I learned 8.1. If I get a little more gray in my beard and I can start angling for the senior's discount at McDonalds. Mord.
  18. I am 50 years old today! Maybe for my birthday, Steve can finally move this to the mods section? And yes, this was also a shameless plug to announce my major milestone. Mord.
  19. Ah, Gotchya. Didn't even notice that part. Wouldn't have known if I had though, lol. Well, for the record I wasn't mad at you so apologies if it came off snippy. Mord.
  20. Campaigns Middle East 1948-1985 is gonna do a DLC for that eventually and Steel Armor: Blaze of War tank sim has two major campaigns centered around it (Khuzestan and Basra), along with a Soviet Afghanistan and Angola campaign. Yeah, not exactly CM but it's something. Mord.
