nathangun
Does battlefront have plans to do a CMBB game with the CMx2 game engine ? Secondly, with the aborted attempt of Combat Mission Campaigns had Battlefront planned to make CMx2 game engine compatible with work done with the software of said project or has that dream been torpedoed for good ?

scottie
1) if you do a search on the modules that will be availavble for CM:BN you will find it goes something like this: CMBN (US v ger) Commonwealth Market Garden Buldge followed by 3 or 4 modules dedicated to the eastern front. 2) Combat Mission Campaigns (CMC) is as dead as can be unfortunetly. Source code is available for download though ... if you are that way inclined. Hope this helps Scott
Mord
Torpedoed...actually never even considered. But not only will they be doing a Eastern Front game...it's looking like 4 titles with three modules for each... Mord.
MikeyD
I don't have details at my fingertips but Steve has said that an Eastern Front title is plannned, that preliminary work has already been started... somewhere.... by someone. I imagine a giant wearhouse out west somewhere with virtual T34s and IS-2s sitting in storage sheds waiting to to be called to action.

Not quite. The modules (i.e. expansions) for CM:BN will be: Commonwealth/FJ/SS Market-Garden Odds and ends for the Normandy timeframe that didn't make it in to the other two Then there will be a separate game for the Bulge that should have its own expansion modules (keep in mind that a module is not a game, it is an expansion to an existing game), and then another separate series of games for the Eastern front. Clear?

nathangun
I'm so looking forward to all of this. My last girlfriend left because of CMx1, I'm serious. My current one will give me the elbow when this one comes out. Hrmmm.....I'm 35 now, when CM:BN comes out in the next year or so, I might not be married until I'm 40.

MeatEtr
I said to her: "Hey is that a mirror in your pocket?" "Because I can see myself in your pants!" Thank you very much, I'll be here all night.

nathangun
I was just having a look through the TO&E section on the CM:BN page for the frist time and was shocked that there was no Brits listed, and I half expected French partisans to be there as well.
Elmar Bijlsma
And after reading this very thread that contains the reason for that, did you remain shocked? I'm a bit surprised that the French resistance keeps getting requested. They weren't exactly having very many pitched battles with the Wehrmacht.
Wodin
The reason I wish I was ten years younger is because I'd be happy in the knowledge I wont be to damn old for when the OstFront version and all it's lovely modules are released...40 this year...time is ticking...tick...tick
Wodin
Thinking about it and slightly off topic anyone else feel they never grew up like their parents seemed to do...I know i will still be playing games at 65...not sure the older generation still do the things they did when they were 12\13 or so.
Kanonier Reichmann
Does battlefront have plans to do a CMBB game with the CMx2 game engine ? Slightly silly... Note: Must have good memory for a certain Monty Python sketch. Regards KR
